As most of us know, EGM said that some of the new characters in SCIV were from a major movie franchise who had "sabers."
As to what this is supposed to mean... I have only one plausible guess:
Pirates of the Carribean.
I mean, think about it: similar time frame, intricately designed characters, "sabers"...
Well, what do you think?

I dunno...that could be, but I think it's more likely to be wishful thinking than anything. After all, there are other movies that could fit similarly well...The Count of Monte Crisco, for example, would probably fit the description passably well. ninja

Pirates of the Caribbean would make sense. It would fit with the timeline..I think.
Having Captain Jack Sparrow as a new combatant? That would be too awesome.

I'm hoping that's why they're so hesitant to reveal new characters.

Sai are little dagger like weapons, slightly like a Kunai. A PotC character would fit the timeline, but its probably not gonna happen. It just wouldnt feel right to me. It would be like they sold out to another franchise...I personally wish theyd bring back Necrid even though thats hypocritical considering that he was designed by McFarlene.

I have to say that I'd rather have a six-foot-tall, tumor-ridden pheasant fighting with a rigor mortis'd Michael Jackson join the cast of souls than to see the accursed encore of that McFarlane abomination. There. That's how much I doesn't like Necrid. 3nodding In other news, still absolutely no word on these mysterious guest characters! Any other ideas?

Oh god no, I hope not (hated PotC with a passion despite Jack Sparrow's awesomeness). It does make sense at first (which was why I chose that option to begin with), but now that I think about it, Namco has to go through Disney.
