I searched the whole of the forums because I vaguely remember posting something like this a looong time ago.. but I didn't find it, so... yeah!

I need some serious help, here.

There is one thing I know for sure: I'm Pagan.

There is on thing I know for sure that is troubling me: I've lost my path.

I've been struggling so hard to get back into the swing of how things used to be, but it's prooving very difficult. I don't even know where I am (within the many webs and branches of Paganism). I have had a great deal of trouble finding out information on various branches, and I know that a lot of the branches are more "word of mouth" and aren't really supposed to post anything on the internet.. which sucks.. so I'm asking you:

Are there any really good books that you know of that list and describe a lot of (if not all of) the branches that are known?
Do you know of any really good, informational sites?

Please let me know. I'm seriously desperate, here. I feel like I've lost a piece of myself and it's really starting to depress me. u_u;;

heart Thank you guys so much. heart

I don't know any sites or books that go into depth, because I'm not interesting in sticking to a particular path just yet, but I'll certainly help you find your way again!

You don't have to fit into any particular category until you're ready, but if you want to learn about more paths, you should find your local Pagan store and just sit and talk with the employees. The ones at my store are very nice and helpful (and their store is just AMAZING).

I'm not totally interested in fitting, either.. just because it's difficult to stick to really anything (like dieting and exercise, lol) when you're in college.. but I do really want to learn about the branches and different paths so I can better educate myself about them, become more aware about them, and hopefully better be able to choose a path in the future!

Sadly, I'm in the armpit (south) of the U.S. right now.. NC, to be exact.. there is only one "Pagan" store in my town, though they don't refer to it as such since they'd be chased out with pitch forks and torches if they did. u_u;; I've only spoken with the one guy who runs it .. who weirds me out a little because he makes a lot of assumptions .. he tries a little too hard to break into your mind and read you, which I don't like .. he also "read" me as being born in February because I was wearing a pentacle with an amethyst in it. u_u;; Anyway, he's okay .. but like I said, he tries to get a little too personal .. and the one girl who works there really only likes to talk about her path, which is Asatru. I like Asatru, but I already know about it. x3 *le sigh*

Aww, poor baby. (That Amythest thing really cracked me up xDD) I'm sorry I can't really be of any more help!

I've in a way fallen from my path, too, and I've just sort of become a watered-down hippy. I'd really like to come back into my faith.

It's okay. ^_^

I feel like a watered-down hippy myself, sometimes.. but then I go through a large period of time when I feel nothing but pure hatred... >>;;... so I have no idea what I am, right now. gonk I really just need to start meditating, more.

Maybe you just need to take a step back and observe yourself. Do you worship any particular deity, are you interested in certain things more than others? Most people stay as Eclectics until or if they find their own paths. I know it's depressing when you lose yourself sometimes, but slow down. Take time out to meditate etc, do the things you like doing and let them lead you. That's the best advice I have right about now. Sorry razz
