Your best Get-Rich-Quick Schemes!

On the hunt for that elusive monthly collectible? Maybe your short on some real, cold hard cash and need to get some soon to pay your rent? Regardless, how are you going to get that money?

I made this thread so the Intellikids could go around and post their best get-rich-quick schemes, for both Gaia and the Real World.

For Gaia, maybe post some worthwhile or interesting contests you've seen in the forums? Some awesome games? Lottos? Giveaways? How about items that are perfect for restocking in the marketplace? Post away!

For the Real World, ever had a bake sale as a little kid? Your first job? Share your experience of making money for life!

Great ideas and anecdotes from the threaders!

Real money!
Selling Tickets!

Hmm... well, let me see.

Fastest way of making gold on Gaia: Pay it a lot of real-life cash. xd
(Or be an artist whose services are greatly in demand).

I was very good at playing the marketplace once upon a time, though it's a year or two ago now, so my methods may be out of date. For example, a favourite trick of mine was to stalk the ending auctions, where I would often grab items worth thousands of gold for hundreds, particularly at quieter times of day (being in a different time zone to the majority of Gaia was an advantage here). On a good day I would nab a 10-15k item for a few k. However, with the advent of the new marketplace which displays ending auctions on the front page, I suspect finding unspotted items is a great deal more difficult. sad I have not tried it.

A slower but steadier way is to play games a lot. If you are good at Blackjack, for example, you can make four times what you paid in tokens by selling tickets. Tickets and/or ticket items are always in demand.

I suspect I would not be much help with real life money. I am not very good at keeping hold of that. xd

It's true - tickets are really the quickest way to get cash. Puzzles are more fun, but the Insane ones take a while to do.

Addition: Tickets seem to be tax free, since they are individual items worth 2g each. 2g is not enough to be taxed(It's just repeated for every one). So buying tokens and selling tickets are a denct way of making gold.

Real cash is still the way to go for gaining Gaia gold though.

I find it works rather well to first forget you are saving or questing for anything, and just post. Eventually you'll glance at your gold count and wonder where it all came from. smile

..okay, maybe not.

Problem with that for me is that, have I the money, I spend it when I see something shiny. Just now, I wanted a summoning tome, but realized I had a few thousand gold to few because I went buck-wild over the new Zoot Suit, and a few other store items.

*facepalm*

My method is the oldest standby - get a collectible item, one that you know you just HAVE to have... and wait two years.

That wasthe plan with my coco, charles. Shame I love him too much to sell.... I could be TEH RICH.

eek Well, I've actually reverted to vending these days, and yeah, sniping, as explained by Gent, is one good tactic to play the marketplace. And I see one or two of you guys vending items too, once in a while. Me I just refresh and refresh the "Just Added" page and buy the cheap items and misprices (Bammi 55g?!)Though it's kinda hard now considering that it's Christmas and everything's inflated...

If you're a starter and have less than 1k of gold, you could do the ink-gold trick though. Buy brown/yellow/cheap inks in the MP for less than 30g. Spend 10g and make them into the cheapest tattoo. Then sell back to the shops for 50g. Slow and steady income...but really, who wants to spend all their time doing this when you can play puzzles in the Intelli-thread? Or just vend tickets? xp
