Enemy Descriptions:

Super Mutants:
User Image
Super Mutants were created by the Master 50 years ago, by dipping normal humans in FEV (Forced Evolutionary Viruses). They are extremely strong, but usually below average human intelligence (this is not to say they are all stupid). They are much larger then "Normies"; on average they are 7-8 feet of solid bulky muscle. Mutants cannot use armor meant for humans, but they can use much larger guns. To a mutant an MP5 is a Side Arm, while an M60 is a rifle. It is not unusual to see Mutants firing weapons that would normally wound or kill a normal human (IE: firing an M2 .50 cal Heavy Machine Gun with out a tripod).

Ghouls:
User Image
Ghouls were once humans, but they where caught outside without protection when the bombs dropped. They are highly resistant to radiation because of their exposure. Unfortunately they are physically weak and cannot use heavy weapons. Because of their great age, and prewar education Ghouls tend to be extremely intelligent when compared to "Smooth Skins." Ghouls look almost exactly like Zombies, only more dried up

Raiders:
User Image
Raiders are not actually one group, but are many. Simply put, Raiders are scum. They are a collection of well-armed warlords and gangs who extort money, slaves, and goods out of helpless farmers and communities.

Reavers:
User Image
Reavers are a cult of humans dedicated to the worship of technology. Unlike the Brotherhood of Steel, Reavers feel technology has an important religious signifigance. They usually come in small numbers, but advanced highly in technology that rivals the Brotherhood Of Steel. They normally carry energy based weapons, pulse grenades, plasma grenades, weapons higher on the technology ladder, and even EMP related devices.

Deathclaws:
User Image
No one knows where these monsters came from, most likely a very bad but real dream. Some say that the pre-War radiation caused some animal to mutate into a Deathclaw. They are big nasty predatory horned critters that are basically a collection of claws and teeth. They are big, fast, strong, and worst of all, they hunt in packs. Don't mess with them or you will end up on their dinner plate. While most are only as intelligent as really nasty apes, some have been rumored to speak...

Enclave:
User Image
One of the few old world organizations to survive the Great War, the Enclave was once the shadow government of the United States. Members of the Enclave were hardliners who both embraced the idea of a nuclear war and knew that the common man could not survive it. The Enclave has very high technology, packing only high based weapons such as energy based weaponry. Every member of the Enclave wears a suit of Enclave Power Armor, a cousin of the Brotherhood Of Steel's own power armor, making each soldier a high threat.

Critters of the Wasteland:

Wolves:
User Image
An average wolf that roams the wasteland looking for prey. They commonly hunt in packs and savage in their attacks looking to make a quick meal out of any wanderers of the wasteland.

Geckos:
User Image
Big Damn Lizzards, that move in packs, and whose skins fetch a high value. Come in 3 types: Silver, Golden and Fire. Silvers are the normal type, tougher then a man but that's why we use weapons. Goldens are mutants. Their bigger tougher and can take quite a few hit before they drop. Their skins are worth 5x as much as a Silver's (they are also 5x harder to drop...). Fires are the nastiest of the bunch. Their hides are worthless and the breath fire. They are deadly.

Radscorpions:
User Image
A mutated Scorpion the size of a subcompact car. They are big, nasty, and generally a nightmare in progress.

Brahmin:
User Image
Two headed cattle. Enough said.

Mole Rats:
User Image
Are they giant bear like rats, or rat like bears. Who knows!

Floaters:
User Image
Floaters are hostile mutant creatures found in the Fallout universe. Their origin and etymology are unknown. They normally travel in groups and are immune to electrical damage. When thinking of these, think of jellyfish, just harder to kill. In a group they can be quite dangerous and immobilize it's prey with spines, along with a poison effect.

Giant Bugs:
Big Damn Bugs. The most common types are: Ants, Hornets, Manti, and Roaches. They average at the size of a small dog. While they are not dangerous individually, they like to come in small swarms.

Rats:
Same old rats, only bigger

Pig Rats:
Part rat, part pig, all nasty. Very tasty, BTW

Giant Rats:
Giant Hairless rats the size of a pony. Nasty Mofos

Dogs:
Same old man's best friend, although many have gone feral living like wolves.

Organizations of Mention:

New California Republic: Based of the once insignificant town of Shady Sands, the NCR is one of the greatest attempts at recreating the United States. It controls much of Southern California, from San Francisco to the Los Angeles Bone Yard.

Brotherhood of Steel: There are actually two branches of the Brotherhood. The Original BoS located on the West Coast, and the splinter Brotherhood located in the Midwest. The Brotherhood is descended for members of the United States Army and their families who were in bunkers when the bombs hit over time they slowly grew into the powerful Techno-Religious organization they are today. The Midwest BoS was created when the Brotherhood sent some of their more expansionist members eastward, in pursuit of the Mutant Army (IE: exiled them)

Brotherhood of Steel (west coast): This, the original branch of the Brotherhood, located California. Sees as a form of "Tech Police" parceling out their advanced technology to those they deem worthy. They tend to be slightly xenophobic but retain a benevolent attitude to the more honest and hardworking members of the wasteland population.

Brotherhood of Steel (Midwest): The Midwestern Brotherhood is in recovery from the long process of conquering the Midwest, ruling a band of territory stretching from Chicago to Cheyenne Mountain in the West. Although their territory is vast, they are in the process of consolidating their rule. All throughout their empire you can find cities that have opted to remain independent, rampaging raider gangs, and other suck weirdness.

The Restored United States of America: Based in Washington State and Oregon the RUSA was one of the first of the new nation to emerge. While it does not have an overwhelming military technological prowess it is a stable Republic that lacks the general disorder of the younger empires. One of its most distinguishing factors is its outstanding Postal Service...

The Super Mutant Army: 50 years ago a being known as the Master attempted to take over the world using a legion of mutants. When the Vault Dweller killed him, the super mutant army fell apart. Although disbanded remnants of the mutant army can still be found.

The Enclave: One of the few old world organizations to survive the Great War, the Enclave was once the shadow government of the United States. Members of the Enclave were hardliners who both embraced the idea of a nuclear war and knew that the common man could not survive it. They believed that as long as the "important people" of the United States survived, they could regroup quickly and wipe out communism once and for all. Though not technically part of the Enclave, many powerful corporations benefited from the Enclave’s actions and their research facilities were protected during the firestorm of 2077.

The Desert Rangers: Based out of what was formally a prison in Texas the Rangers are the descendants of survivalists and members of the United States Army. The Rangers see themselves as a force for law and order in an otherwise chaotic and lawless era. They are like the Texas Rangers of old, defending the helpless from raider gangs and other such riff raff. As such, most decent folks have a deep admiration for them.

Slavers Guild: Dun out of The Den in Northern California, Slavers Guild is an organization created to regulate and control the slave trade. Simply enough, Slavers are human garbage that sell their fellow man like bramin. Guild members are easily distinguishable by the tattoo on their fore head.

NCR Rangers: A group of people based out of NCR whose only mission is to screw over the slavers guild at every available chance. They run underground railroads, safe houses, and they even organize the occasional Liberation strike ageist slave pens and high profile owners.

Raiders: Raiders are not actually one group, but are many. Simply put, Raiders are scum. They are a collection of well-armed warlords and gangs who extort money, slaves, and goods out of helpless farmers and communities.

Tribals: Tribals are the many tribes of survivors of the holocaust who have reverted to a more spiritual and naturalistic way of life, not unlike the live style of pre-European Native Americans and Australian Aborigines. What little tech they have (and can understand), they hold dear considering it a magical object of great power. The attitude, and culture will vary tribe to tribe. Some are rather open and friendly welcoming strangers, while other are hostile and violent, having reduced themselves to the level of cannibalism.
