Welcome to the Professional Roleplayers guild! Just like you read in the front page, this guild is all about serious, organized roleplaying.

Finding your way around is simple.

The main forum is for guildtalk. Recruiting, ideas, upcoming campaigns etc.

The Out of Character subforum is for all members of the guild for chatting. Please refrain from mindless bumping- that's what the chatterbox is for. Other than that, feel free to start anything that won't violate the TOS.

The Spontaneous Roleplaying is for all people who just came up with a cool idea but don't feel like GMing or searching for one. Thus, it's very similar to Barton Town, except for a very important thing- anybody else that might participate here is top-notch.

The Academy of Roleplaying subforum is a unique feature of our guild. Experienced players and GMs will teach younger, less experienced people how to roleplay in various kinds of ways- battle, intrigue, casual etc. For more information, check the specific subforum.

The Roleplaying Systems forum is dedicated to all those members who have a unique and original RP system to present. With their permission, gamemasters (or other gamemasters if they themselves are one) may use it in their campaigns, instead of an official system or freeform. The only prerequisite is that it's neatly organised, and the Crew will make sure of that.

And then there are specific campaigns. Each campaign has its own subforum, where the respective GM is a moderator and can create his own world to his heart's desires. For information on how to join each campaign, a specific thread will be available in its respective subforum. A short summary will be presented below.

More non-campaign subforums might be added as time passes.

If you have any questions, check the FAQ!

There are various kinds of roleplaying going around. Here's a little description of each one so that you don't get confused

Thread RPs are the most common and are pretty similar to thread RPs in Barton, except they quality is much better. They can be found in the Spontaneous Roleplaying forum. Feel free to start your own!

Campaigns are a staple of the PRG. They are the forums with [Campaign] on it. They are usually run by one (sometimes more than one) Gamemaster who pretty much creates his whole world. It's neater, more organized, and more fun. Campaigns are shown below.

Open-ended campaigns are similar to normal campaigns, except there's usually no preordained plot, and they introduce full-time and part-time Gamemasters. The latter are like most gamemasters, but the former are also players. It's more common to have several Gamemasters and many players in open-ended campaigns, and usually a full- or part-time GM manages one or more threads of his fellow players (of course, always when it's not him playing at the party). You can recognize them by the prefix [Campaign, open-ended] in the forum name, obviously.

Finally, Mini-Campaigns have a Gamemaster but consist of a single-thread only. They're somewhat common and chosen by new Gamemasters or those who don't want to pay the money for the forum- they can be found in the Spontaneous Roleplaying forum, often with Mini-Campaign somewhere in the thread's name.

I hope that helped! If you have any questions, feel free to PM me or any of the crew. biggrin

Campaign List
Here's a short list and a description of every campaign that is running or is soon about to run in our guild.

Brandish: A High Fantasy RP
At the moment, all we know is that it's a high fantasy campaign with a unique game system. We're anxious for more!
