So I took roughly 10 or so of my breyer models and changed them around to truly make them unique..My JAH magazine had said to use boiling water to change their shape but honestly that was useless, all it did was make my hands and the kitchen really warm and my models wet. So I decided why not just bring them closer to the flame? I did and the results were much more dramatic and much more satysfying.

So I took a dun colt, frolicking around

and turned him into a sweet dapple grey filly exploring her new world

Next I took a galloping pinto mustang stallion..

and turned him into a rearing buckskin mare with "real hair"

Ooo! I have the little colt, actually I have two versions of him xd

I've honestly never heard anything about boiling water, lol. That sounds pretty messy and non-effective. I use my hair dryer to soften up the plastic (or whatever it is they're made of. That works pretty good.
It looks like you used acrylic paint on them, am I right?
Acrylics don't exactly make for the most realistic looking coats, I've used it a few times and got unsatisfying results.
The mustangs legs could use a little blending, but other than that its good.
If these are your first attempts, they're very good, keep it up 3nodding

Yes, acrylic is the only paint available to me..I hear oil is good but that ruins my raintbrushes and I havent the money for better ones. And I've checked both wal-mart and the micheals near my house and both only have acrylic :/ I'm not the best at painting horse coats, I'm better at drawing them..I wish I had an airbrush available but not only are they expensive...Perhaps my art teacher would let me use it if I turned in the horses I painted as homework

And I acctually started customizing them because I had 5 models of that galloping colt, 3 of the running mustang, not to mention 5 of this standing mustang colt, Thats the main reason I cutomize them, I get tierd of the same models.

WOW that is sooo cool. I don't collect them but I often find them cheap and pass them up. I might just get a couple now and try this. So you just get it hot and bend the legs and stuff how you want them, then re paint it? I'm not the most artistic person so it might end up looking like a horrible mess of a horse when I try but I for sure want to try now.
