To join or for OOC, visit this thread ---------------------------- With a thundrous yawn, Odysseas got up from his bunk, rubbing his eyes. He looked around at the crew quarters- seems like everyone else was not around. Yawning again, he put on his jumpsuit and belted his gear on. Before he'd go to check the autopilot, he was more eager to grab a bite at the mess hall. He walked towards the mess hall, whistling, ignoring the service bot that seemed to frantically run around the ship, repairing one minor issue after another. Odysseas chuckled- the "Hermes" was hardly cutting edge technology. But at least on it, he was free. The automatic doors slid open as he approached, and he took a quick glance around. Picking up whatever food was available from the kitchen, he sat down near the others and growled. "Good morning everyone! Or whatever friggin' time we're on right now".

"Matthew Freeman, reporting for duty sir."
"Kazuma Nakamura, also reporting for duty sir."
The two super-soldiers stood side by side, two of the few that lived of their kind. Either of them had wished they could trade places with their now deceased "Family". The two of them were the leaders of their troops. They were the eyes, the mouth, and the brains of their troops. Whilst they were the ears and the body. Listening, and following commands from the brain.
A pang of guilt shot through Kazuma, as he clenched his fist tightly, his nails digging into his palm.
Matt sighed, as they were told to leave. Their mission was simple, for their high level of skill. Then again, that meant something was up. They were sending to of their finest troops out to look for a ship called "Hermes", infiltrate the ship, and dispatch a stowaway soldier.
This, however, meant he was good. One thing was for sure, they taught the super-soldiers to never underestimate an opposition. If they did, they'd be down in a count.
"Kazuma, do you think any of them survived?" Matt asked as he began to check his equipment, as they sat in the back of a small drop ship checking their equipment. Matt had once again fiddled with his, what seemed like an ordinary, Laser Pistol. He was looking for a way to get a better battery, one that would last longer, or maybe even tone down the energy it used when it fired, without taking down any possible damage it would cause.
Kazuma checked his weapons as well, making sure everything was in working order. He had some knowledge in the field of customization, but not nearly as much as Matt. THe best he could do was make his Laser rifle fire faster, without as much of a cool-down as a normal one. "I dunno Matt... But let's try to stop thinking about that. We've got a job to do..."

The pilot cocked a fluffy eyebrow at the two rather weird crew members that greeted him. "Cut the 'sir' crap. Not even the cap'n wants to be called like that, let alone a grumpy pilot. The name's Ody- don't try the full one, I've had enough of foreigners butchering it", he replied to the two, his rather bizarre accent making the words sound somewhat strange.
Taking a bite of what seemed to be a cheap-o hamburger, Odysseas eyed the guys' constant checking for equipment. His laser pistol was strapped on too, but he didn't treat it like his wife, or some saint like these two. Sighing, he rolled his eyes and resumed his breakfast.
"So, you two guys are new, it seems. Well, you two look and smell like friggin' military to me. And fresh from the batch, it seems. Looking to get some hard cash from the good ol' trade, eh?"

Subject: Enrico Jackson Ranking: Sargent ID: F556 Height: 6'1 Weight: 230lbs Body Temp.: -20c Blood Type: AB
-- Marine Status: -ACTIVE-
-- CHANGE: ~Body Temp.: 0c -- CHANGE: ~Body Temp.: 10c -- CHANGE: ~Body Temp.: 20c --
Welcome back... Sgt. Jackson.
Enrico layed down in cyro-tank for a few seconds. Groggy from the wake up process, he slowly opened his mouth and groaned out the words “Juliet?”. “Yes, Jackson; your AI is here to serve” it replied, to which Jackson chuckled. He opened his eyes to the normal wideness and yawned. “Next up; Arm me” Jackson demanded, to which his AI beeped to show confirmation. The cryo-tank when from it’s horizontal position to a vertical position and braced down Enrico’s feet. From there; the tank split off by robotic arms and the floor opened bringing in variety of parts which clamped on the legs and chest parts of the armor. They looked overly bulky on him for a reason; the shoulders came down from the verticle posistion above the body plate and formed the Red shoulder plates and upper arm armor. The gauntlets came next, being screwed into the rest of the armor by the machine itself. The robotic arms finished welding and piecing the armor into its final state. Then the Helmet was lowered onto the torso and given a 720 degree spin to lock it in, and then was connected to the wiring of the rest of the suit via magnetic plugs. The suit then jacked into Jackson causing him to jerk forward by the action.
“Ready?” Juliet asked, “Born” He responded.

"Yeah. Was hoping it'd be easier then being enlisted for duty, might get enough cash to settle down later on, ya know?" Kazuma said, chuckling with a grin as he checked out the Auto-lasers he received from the military. He handed one to Matt, thinking he'd take a look at it. "Shoot, these things ain't cheap, that's for sure..." He muttered as he began to disassemble the auto-laser, only to put it back together as soon as he finished.
Matt looked at the Auto-laser very carefully as he disassembled it, as if taking in more knowledge on auto-lasers then he already had. He looked up at the pilot who was speaking to them, and extended a hand in greeting, but cautiously as well. He was always on edge, but being on a ship with people he had no trust in... That was a bit over the top for him.
"As we said, I'm Matt, and this is Kazuma. We're here to make some quick cash, but I doubt that we can go on a trip out there and come back without a fight..."

The pilot shook the soldier's hand vigorously, managing a grin. "That's the beauty of it, ain't it? No run, no fun, they say. Even though this little old baby's cannons can't say much, the engines are pretty good. Y'know, discretion is teh better part of valor n'stuff."
He gave another look at the autolasers before saying "Well, you certainly seem to have gotten your share of military gear. Runaways, eh? Unless nowadays they hand out autolasers like candy to discharged personnel. Don't think I could've managed to finish military- I'd never stood up to their crap. Congrats if you did."

“Jackson, Yang wants you on deck, double time” Dodger said over the comm-link. Jackson walked out of the cryogenic storage room and towards the main deck. Walking down the metal hallway, which wasn’t a far walk, he stood in front of the blast door that led to the bridge of the ship. Extending his hand slowly, he placed it on the control panel, where Juliet entered the access command. The door cranked and grinded as it unlocked and opened to reveal the ships bridge. Jackson strolled in as the door shut behind him. Dodger was goofing off on the computer while his AI flew the ship; a thought that bothered him after the Rubi-Ka. Yang was at the command desk, accessing logs for the ships armory. Silence between the three for a few moments, until Yang piped up with an order “Dodger, pick-up the weapons at the armory since your pissing off time.”. Dodger nodded and got up and left through the same door as Jackson had entered. “Where are we?” Jackson asked his commanding officer bluntly. Yang raised his helmet visor and looked over at Jackson. He slowly exhaled and said “We left Avian space a few hours ago; I was hoping to rustle up some galaxy edge fringers or smugglers. We both know this is where they like to wait, since most UAPC won’t come out here to hassle them.”. Jackson chuckled, walking over to Yang, who opened a small galaxy map. “See anything?” Jackson asked, hoping to hear Yang’s plan. “Yes. There is another near by ship. Her-may, Her-pies, something like that. I didn’t catch it’s ID codes or anything, Gamma couldn’t read’em that fast.” Yang explained, followed by Gamma’s “I’m sorry sir, They are out of my range at this current time.”. Yang cringed from this; Him and Gamma had served quite some time, and yet Gamma hadn’t stopped saying sorry for every little mistake; annoying in the nicest of ways. “So, are we going in Hot or do we give them the benefit of the doubt?” Jackson asked to which he got a stern look and retort of “We’re not murderers, but we ain’t pussies ether, we go armed, we aren’t armed to go.”. Jackson pulled a cigar out of the desk and put it in his mouth. “WARNING: Smoking can be dangerous for your health.” Juliet remarked, Jackson just chuckled.

Nova made an incoherent noise as her eyes fluttered open. She lifted her body up to a sitting position before looking around. There was metal scattered all over the place and no sign of life. Small fires were blazing nearby since some of the ship exploded right before they crash landed. This was the first time that people she actual knew had died; while she seemed untouched by the incident. She stood up in the wreckage to reveal the long coat she was wearing. It didn't look much like a coat anymore; since it was so worn from what happened. She flung the useless coat off of her body to reveal her naked body. After all, the one that was trying to save her the most only had time to cover her with a trench coat. It was the first time she actually wore any type of clothes though.
It didn't take long for Nova to find what she was looking for. After she knelt down, she moved some debris out of the way. She peered down at the kinder of the lead scientists before lifting his upper half up to rest in her arms. He was the only one still alive when they crashed on the planet; but now he was died. His face looked oddly peaceful at that moment. In reality, he was both sad and happy when he knew he was going to die. He was happy because he knew that Nova would survive and be able to be free to learn things on her own. Despite the hardships that would come her way: he had hope. His only regret was not being able to stay alive a bit longer so he could stay her off better. The peaceful look on his face was there because he knew in his heart that he did what was right and it was all worth it.
Nova landed the scientist back down without showing any emotion and stood back up. Her indigo eyes scanned the area around the crash site. The area looked like a gray wasteland. The dark sky almost made the area look black. The ship seemed to blend in nicely if you took away the mini fires that would go out in a bit. The ground was hard and rough even when it was generally flat. There were almost sculptural rock formations of all shape and sizes that jutted up out of the ground at random. The place had no wind and seemed to be completely void of noise. Nova could only hear the crackling of the fire.
It was possible that there were something of use in the midst of the crash site but Nova didn't bother to look. She walked out of the destroyed ship and started into the unknown. The ground was cold against her bare feet but she didn't seem to mind. For the first time: she was truly alone. In no way was Nova ready to enter the universe alone. After all, she wasn't taught about the simple things in life yet.

"Bing bong. That jackass of the pilot should better get his fat a** on the cockpit. Over".
Ody chuckled at the captain's stupid announcement- it was commonplace for the two to insult one another, since the used it to perfect their taunting. "Well, someone's cranky today. Or since he was born. I guess virgins are that way!", he shrugged, raising his shoulders at the two soldiers.
He got up lazily and trudged towards the cockpit, whistling random tunes, until he reached the cockpit and sat down. "What's the issue?", he spoke to Hermetia, the ship's AI. A holographic, pixie-sized scantily clad woman (Ody often joked about the captain's lechery) appeared right in front of him. "Well, look who's here. Hello there, sir knight. Ready to save another damsel today?"
The pilot winced and made a swatting motion at the pixie, his hand passing right through the little girl and causing static. She laughed. "Well, keep your horses at bay, you little charger you!", the AI purred, with the pilot responding by rolling his eyes. Somewhat irritated, she continued "Autopilot's off and you have to make a landing, soon. Kuroi IV is a blasted planet, fourth from the son, breathable atmosphere but not colonized. A pretty recent smuggler's hideout, and we have to pass the sugar to them...", she added, trying her best to make "sugar" sound as faintly as possible.
"Sugar!?", he howled in rage. "I thought we made a deal with that son of a gelnag b***h about not passing sugar anymore. There's plenty of greyware if he wants the same effect, that ...", and he continued with a string of foul language in his native tongue.
"Don't tell me, sir knight. I guess that's the captain's issue, I just work here "

Nova continued to walk on the cold ground as the sun started to come up. By now, the ship probably wasn't on fire and was out of her site. Now that the sun was coming out, everything didn't look so dark. The place was still eerie because of the odd shadows that started to form. The land around her seemed just as desolate as it was at night. The only big difference was the sky; but the ground was a bit lighter. Her ragged auburn hair swayed slightly as she walked. Her hair was dangling in her eyes enough that one wouldn't be able to see what color they were at first.
This planet didn't seem like a good place to crash on. Then again, there had to be at least some sign of life. Even seeing a little bug would be a good thing. Not many thoughts were running though her head as she continued along. Nova's main goal at this point was to figure out how to survive on this planet. Therefore, thoughts of anything that wasn't related to survival were not at the forefront of her mind.

He kept the rest of the insults for the captain, and they were not friendly this time. Ody punched the "OFF" button at the autopilot's screen just to make sure, and grabbed the controls. The landing was somewhat difficult, as the hideout's small and already crowded landing pad had barely enough space for the "Hermes".
As soon as this was over, he raced towards the captain's cabins, his eyes blazing with fire. He'd teach that son of a gelnag b***h something about keeping his fraggin' word, else he'd shove it up his colon.

Nova stopped walking when she noticed something in the distance. It was a ship coming to land on this desolate planet. Maybe this planet had more to it than meets the eye. She started walking again while watching the spaceship. There was no way she would be able to tell exactly where it was landing from were she was. Since no one was around or be able to tell what she was doing; she stopped and started to focus. Her eyes locked onto the ship as her vision seemed to zoom in on it at a rapid speed. Soon she knew exactly what the spacecraft looked like. Her eyes followed it until it disappeared near where it was landing. She shifted her eyes to get a good look around the area. When she was satisfied; her sight returned to normal. At least she had a place to walk to now.
Nova had been running for twenty minutes now. If she had walked to the place were the ship landed; she wouldn't have made it for hours. Plus, it was possible that ship just landed on the wrong planet and there was no actual civilization here. It was a good thing she wasn't tired out at all. If she had to use her change in sight to its full potential; she probably wouldn't have enough energy to run all the way there. Her auburn hair flew behind her as she ran, revealing her indigo eyes. Even though she was much closer to her destination; she had a good ways to go still. When she got close enough; she would probably have to be a bit more careful about how she approached the area. It wasn't a big concern right now though; after all, she should still be out of sight of the ship that landed and whatever else might have been there. Of course, if someone did see her; they might just stare and wonder why some chick is running around in the nude.

“Hrm... They’re landing...” Yang thought out-loud. Jack rolled the unlit cigar in his mouth. “What do you think? Cargo dump?” Jackson asked. While they were talking, the door opened again and Dodger walked in with a hovering trolley of weapons. “Maybe, We can tag’em in now. Charlie, bring us in quickly. If we get the jump on them they’ll be surprised and not know what to do. Me and you will entertain them with questions. Dodger, you’ll sneak in with Charlie and hack through the ships’ Cargo holds, see what they got.” Yang ordered. Jackson walked over the weaponry slowly, lifting up his chain gun and firing off a shot to light his cigar. “Ava men?” Yang asked “Ava!” Dodger responded. Jackson took a long breath of his cigar and slowly opened his mouth to say “Ava”.
Gamma took over piloting while Charlie returned to Dodger. Their ship moved quickly into the atmosphere of Kuroi IV. The Hermes was with in firing range now, Yang sat firmly in his chair. “Gamma, send them a warning that we’re here from the UAPC and we need to check their goods for stolen pieces from the Ava planet-scape.” Yang said to his AI, who beeped in response. DANGER: Hazardous Substance being Inhaled. DANGE-

It's a good thing doors were automatic, else he'd break this one by closing it angrily behind him.
"What's this bullshit again?", he yelled at the thin, scraggly captain. Dave Falkes, or Captain Dave as he's preferred to be called usually. He used to wear this large ostentatious uniform until some muggers left him clean and nothing 'xcept his underwear, and since then he's just wearing a jumpsuit uniform and one of his odd, three-cornered hats. But that was hardly Ody's issue.
"Calm down before you fly this thing into an asteroid. What's hit your zonkers today, Ody?", the captain asked in his squeaky, nervous voice, but it was obvious this was his natural tone, really, rather than anxiety influencing his speech. The captain was notorious for being rather anxious and precise, usually over the top, but it was obvious when by his energetic, frantic arm-flailing..
"Sugar, that's what hit my zonkers- or, rather, your nostrils. You're selling sugar again? After all we've been through, you moron?"
"Easy, Ody. You know that our last few runs have been rather pathetic, and I needed some quick cash to bail us out of that shark. Turns out I'm running sugar just once for him, and he'll let me off his teeth. Gotcha?"
"Gotcha my a**, you son of a kergla b***h!", yelled an out-of-his-clothes pilot, surging forward and punching the captain in the gut before spitting on him and storming outside. Without a second thought, he exited the spaceship without any protective gear, passing through the airlock in seconds.
The heavy atmosphere was breathable, barely. Then, he laughed, as much as the limited air supply in his lungs permitted- if they were in some other planet, he'd been pretty much pushing the daisies right now.

Nova came to a sudden halt when the other ship came into the atmosphere. At his point in time; she was still far away from where the other ship landed. It was more likely that the second ship would see her but they seemed preoccupied. Maybe the second ship was chasing the first one. It didn't really matter to her; after all, her main concern was surviving.
As she stood there, Nova adjusted her sight to zoom in on the second spaceship. It definitely looked quite a bit different than the first one. She had no idea what kind either of them was though. This is the first time she has really seen a real ship anyway. Well, she crash landed in one but she was half out of it at the time.
