Synopsis of the 16th book of the Anita Blake: Vampire Hunter series, provided by MonAmourMalade [THANK YOU! biggrin ]

Here's the Amazon UK Blood Noir Synopsis:

Jason is a werewolf. He's also one of Anita Blake's best friends and sometimes her lover. And right now he needs her - not to be a vampire hunter, or a federal marshal, or a necromancer, but because his father is dying. Anita can make him look like an everyday guy, helping him say good-bye to the abusive father he never loved. The fact that Jason is not 'everyday' and Anita is far from being just a pretty woman is something they figure they can keep under wraps for a couple of days in a small town. How hard can that be? Really, by now, Anita Blake should know better. And this is the weekend that Marmee Noir, ancient mother of all vampires, picks to make a move. Somehow she has cut the connection that binds Anita and vampire Master of the City Jean-Claude, leaving them vulnerable. Dangerous even as she sleeps, buried in darkness for a thousand years beneath the old country of Europe, Marmee Noir reaches out toward power - she has attacked Anita before, but never like this. Anita has what she wants - and now she's going to take it.

I'm hoping we see some Military action in the next few--Van Cleef would jump at the opportunity to have someone with as many immunities as Anita. That's going to be a problem. . .

According to Laurell's site Blood Noir will be out in 2008. That's all I know, and it makes me sad cry

ugh.. man.... another year for the Anita books... It's sometime in summer when she releases the Anita Blake books right? I hope we get to see Van Cleef... or for Anita to kill off Vittorio... or if Peter is a kitty cat in the end...

Oh, Vittorio. I had to look him up to remember. He was a neighboring master Vampire, rogue. I'll have to read Incubus Dreams again--that one was quote saucy. . . mmm. . . :[

Personally, my favorite book is Obsidian Butterfly... Maybe it's because of all the Edward action... or because Anita wasn't with her men having weird stuff happen...

xD! I hope Laurell remembers about Bernardo... He was a cool character!

And horny.

<3 Edward <3

Some of the best scenes are in that book. Edward actually gets scared of Anita when her eyes do the Itzy thing, Anita finds out that Family Man Edward is terrifying, the hospital scenes, and oohhhh Bernardo--no, that didn't happen, but it's hilarious that Edward wanted her to have an "uncomplicated ********." Gyahh, that's the second time I've mentioned it, but it's awesome that Edward thought of her in that situation. XD

LKH says that she has so many characters that she keeps forgetting about and a lot of characters she wants to elaborate on, so I don't know how much we're going to see of some of the characters anymore.

thats why blood noir was supposed to be the jason novella (like micah) but she couldnt stop writing, so it became the next full length novel. i kinda miss jason, hes wasnt really part of the last book.

This is going to be an interesting book. I hope there's some real cemetery activity in this one. I enjoyed the part in Micah when she's walking through and she's told that she's unconsciously touching every last gravestone she's passed. Moments like that make me unable to put a book down
