-I dont like dubs cuz anime was originally made with japanese voices, and it is more appropriate than editing the whole thing all over again because people are just too lazy to read. The whole dubbing thing was started by americans that were too lazy to ******** read.

I don't really agree with you...it wasn't made because we were too lazy to read. How the hell are we supposed to understand japanese if we didn't change it? And it's not like they changed the story line. They tried to at least make the characters say the same thing as the japanese version. THERE IS NO DIRECT CONVERSTION.

See this is the type ignorant comments that I hate. Saying dubs were made because Americans are to lazy to read. Thats bull s**t my friend BULL s**t. I read I read Steven King, Dean Koontz, Bently Little, Gorge R.R. Martan, and others.

Animation was not made to be read it was made to be listened to. Manga was made to be read. when I want to read One Piece or Full Metal Alchimist or Hell Sing or Fruits Baskets, or Karen, or Black Cat or Death Note or Card Captor Sakura and others I will read the manga. The manga is superior to the anime in many ways anyway. Why would I want to read an inferior version of something I already read? Thats pointless. Really I would not watch anime if all there were was subtitles because reading the manga is better then reading the anime.

Dubs were not created do people did not have to read. They were created so that every country had the true experience that the original country has. When your attention is split between reading what is going on, watching the action and listening to voices you don't understand you are going to miss out on some important stuff.

Japan dubs American shows and cartoons. Do they dub our stuff because they are to lazy to read? No they do it so they can enjoy The Simpsons or Heroes or CSI or Die Hard, or Spiderman or Batman, and other cartoons, TV shows and movies the same as we do.

And edits, edits, do you know how few edits are in TV dubs now adays? With the exception of 4kids who is pretty much dead no company butchers anime. Adult Swim anime is virtually uncut and Toonami is a hundred times less edited now then it was five years ago. Then there is the fact that every single anime on Cartoon network with the exception of Yu Gi Oh GX ether has an uncut dub or will get one in the near future.

Then there are anime DVDs, 95% of dubs in America are released on DVDs and never ever show up on TV. These dubs are 100% uncut. Not a single content or story line edit on the whole show, if pretending that uncut DVDs don't exist is not ignorant I don't know what is. These uncut DVDs also have a subtitled version, yes they include the original Japanese version. These so called lazy American companies have put in extra work not only to loyally dub a show but to also include a very good sub as well. One without the flaws of a fansub. Does that sound lazy to you?

I never said I was superior to anyone, I'm not trying to change anyones opinion. Hell I was actually talking about a tiny minority of anime fans who think dubs are the tools of the devil. I don't want to change any ones opinion I just want them to open their eyes to realize that their notions on dubs are outdated (wrong was the wrong choice of words). Subs can still be better to them but they really acting like dubs are all cardcaptors and Sailor moon is living in the past. And well I'm just thinking with an open mind.

Every anime I have seen i have seen dubbed, subbed, and raw. I have seen often multiple subs from multiple countries. I have seen shows with five different fan subs and the official sub released along side the dub. I have been an anime fan for a long time. I have been subjected to the worst dubs, and the worst subs. I have heard Japanese voices that suck a** and English voices that are better then the original.

I have suffered the worst dubs in the world in like you have never seen. I have seen three butchered dubs of Gattcaman (SP), two butchered dubs of Sailor Moon, I have seen three shows become one show, twice. I have seen Ninja become heroes in name and nunchucu deleted from shows entirely.

I have been around the block a few times. I have seen the worst anime has offered and the best it had to give.

On a final note I don't hate subs. In fact I like dubs and subs the same. I prefer dubs because the manga is better when it comes to reading. Basically if there is an uncut dub and uncut sub I will chose the dub. In most cases there is an uncut sub. So the answer for me is quite clear. And I chose because the manga is better then both and thats what I want to read.

Change opinions, no I don't want to change anyones opinion. That is an impossible goal one I could never do. I'm to weak and pathetic ever to. More I just wish people would look at things with an open mind thats all.

You can hate every dub ever made hell I don't care. But I would like to understand way. I would like to know your reasons. After all I'm an open book willing to give you all my reasons and I expect the same. mutual respect thats all.

I come out as a bit mean I know that. But I truly do respect peoples opinions. It's just I have a problem with people with closed minds.

When their opinion is "All dubs SUX" or "I just know it's going to suck like every other dub," or "People who watch dubs don't read" Those are not real opinions.

Maybe I expect to much. Maybe I expect everyone's opinion to be as thought out as mine. For them to put the same type of work in their opinion as I put in mine. I have worked hard at making my opinion rock solid and I love to express it.

Even though I say I respect all opinions maybe I don't. Not because I don't agree with what they say but HOW they say it. I want people to give reasons for their opinion, to explain their opinion. People don't have too. I mean people like you and me do it because we want to. But really I do not need to know why they hate something and tell them their opinion is out dated.

I mean people handle stuff differently. Some people saw the horrible dubs of the past and refuse to give new ones a chance. There is nothing wrong with that. "Once bitten twice shy." Me I saw the horrible dubs of the past but hoped that as time went on they would get better. I kept watching dubs looking for that improvement and fond it.

I have been arrogant and ignorant. I realize that. Damn I really should take a step back and look at how I deal with things. I really should not let other peoples opinions get to me just because they are not up to my standards. No thats wrong.

I do not hate or love dubs. I'm in fact very neutral about it. Yes, there are some dubs out there that are just plain awful. But there are also some dubs that are actually very well done. In fact, I actually watch subs first before the dubs. The only reason is to compare actors/actresses' talent if anything else.

-Heh, well i was pissed the day i started flaming you cuz i thought you were just another n00b who saw trough naruto on dubs and heard from his friends that subs suck ... heh i was kinda prejudicative, but i was really pissed (REALLY) that day so yeah ... i kinda got outta hand. xD

-Heh, well the trick is to actually listen to what the close minded people are saying ... cuz then you can understand what kind of people they are and learn a lot about things you normally cant in your own environment. I actually love to listen to people with extremist opinions go around stating something they dont comprehend, because i can find flaws in their opinions and make my stronger razz ... Learn from mistakes, preferably other peoples mistakes.

-Oh, PS. Nothing is wrong with a LITTLE arrogance and even a little ignorance (just enough to not forget what you stand for in life) but sometimes people just forget about the limit between stating a opinion and ignorantly converting people to your way of thinking. Just read something before you post it. That works most of the time.
