Matt walked the trees of the forest, thinking about the girl he had heard Jacob ''talking'' about. 'What was her name though? I can't seem to remember it. Beth? No....Bell? That's it! Bella! Isn't that Chief Swan's daughter? Hmmm....' Matt quickly stripped off his clothes and stuffed them into his backpack before phasing. Grabbing the backpack in his mouth, he took off towards the invisible line that divided La Push from Forks.

Cory took carefull steps, she knew she was near the La Push border and she could smell the awful wolves running around like stray dogs. She had quickly seperated from Emmett and Jasper, she was midly curious about the wolves and hoped she'd meet one sooner or later.

Matt stopped, sniffing the air around him. He growled quietly and morphed back into his human form so the others couldn't hear his thoughts. 'This is a new smell, but it is definitely a vampire. I can tell that much from the smell. Matt put his pants on and walked toward the scent, trying hard to calm the shivers that had begun vibrating through his body.

Cory took careful steps, and smiled, "And who're you?" She asked to no one visible, but was aware that a werewolf had heard her somewhere near her.

"That isn't really important right now, the question is, who are you?" he asked, stepping out from under the cover of the trees. He eyed Cory warily as he stood there, letting the last of the shivers disappear. Coughing from the smell of her, Matt covered his nose with one hand.

Cory shook her head, "No, dear. I asked you first, and would you pleas estop being so rude, you think your smell charms me?" She pulled herself on top of a rather large rock and crossed her long, elegant legs. They sparkled slightly from the little rays of sun that breached the trees leaves.

"Do you think I care whether you asked me first? Your close enough to the line for me to take you down if I wanted to. But, if you tell me who you are and why I haven't smelled you before, than I'll tell you who I am and I won't do anything to ya." Matt crossed his arms and stared at the vampire, still not sure what to make of her.

Cory laughed mildly, "Wow, Wolf-Boy, you have a lot more guts than I'd expect from a dog. But, let's just say if you did decide to attack me, which you wont, but lets say you did, I would have you dismembered in two shakes, or if you got lucky and put a scratch upon my vampire visage, a guard, made entirely of vampires, would be here in less than a week to wipe your pack from the face of the earth. My names Cory, and I'm a member of the Volturi. Now, who are you?"

A shiver ran up Matt's spine at the mention of the Volturi. He remembered hearing Jacob talk about them once, after dropping off Bella. "Matt. I mean..my names Matt. And I'm not to mixed with other dogs. By the way, even if you were to wipe the entire pack from the face of the earth, more would rise again when vampires return. Do you not know the history of these parts?"

Cory smiled, "No. Need I know it? I'm just visiting the local vampires, the Cullens, all I need to know is there's a treaty blah blah, don't cross line blah blah. That's about it, and don't worry. I don't bite humans, I have a strict animal diet."

Matt smirked cockily. "Suuure you do. Anybody who knows anything about vampires knows that their eyes are topaz when they have an animal diet, not.....blue." He frowned, looking at Cory uncertainly. "Umm.....why exactly are they blue?"

Matt stared at her a moment longer before nodding. "If you say so. How long have you known the Cullens?" He sat down against the base of a tree, not wanting to move any closer. He still didn't trust Cory.

Cory leaned against a tree and examined her nails, "Oh, since they were changed, we'll...everyone except Carlisle, I met him when he came to the Volturi. They tend to get on my nerves, but I lived with them, a while back for about ten years..."
