In my opinion Raoul deserves Christine the most, because...
(1) He did not scare her and capture her nor hit her...
(2) They were childhood sweet hearts

Look at them squirm like worms in mud, Blaming a ghost who's flesh and blood. Crossing the line, tossing the dice, Making decisions and paying the price. *newscaster voice* And the rivalry of E/C versus R/C continues with a new stage in the PoNR guild! If I were really a ghost, my dear, I'd find a better Hell than here! -Erik, The Phantom of the Opera, Tom Alonso

Ah, that is what my practical friends say as well. I'm too much of a romantic to see the appeal in that. I mean, they are very adorable, but nothing is sadder than love unrequited.
In other words, I see your point. Christine going with Raoul was the obvious choice when looking at it realisticly. I will always hope deep down that she went with the Phantom, though. wink

No the reason Christine went with Raoul is because the people who wrote the books, plays, or movies said so. I mean, I could write a book and say " Christine decides to go with the Phantom" Im going to start an Erik/Christine thread. twisted

And I, unfortunately, am far too -let's say "intrigued"- with the fact that the Phantom was a very dominating character. Everyone has their opinion. Practically, though Raoul was the true practical one, I'm wondering how long he could catch her interest and hold it. Whenever I'm alone with you, You make me feel like I am clean again.

I didn't like Christine or Raoul That much. (Well, Raoul had a really good singing voice). I mean, Erik deserves better. Thats why i keep reading those annoying fanfictions. I like to see him get a happy ending.

Sing My Angel of Music...
Erik deserves Christine cause He gived his soul to her, and we know that she loved Erik until Raoul's arrival, I THINK RAOUL IS A SUCKER!
...Sing for me!

Skyeblue777 Raoul is a fop don't forget Yes, and Erik actually challenged Christine intelectually. Raoul could never do that. Also, I disagree with the idea that Raoul deserves her because he's her childhood sweetheart. Very few people stay in love with their childhood sweethearts. In the book, Raoul acted like a big baby! So did Erik, but he had a VERY good reason to be immature. (Yes, I love Erik to death, but read the book. He acted like a child, too. The Persian was the only mature one in the story.)
