Skadi looked to the gloomy sky; thick gray clouds covered the beautiful blue sky the sun was having a hard time heating the whole of Eden. So many signs winter was on its way. Skadi had felt her power had been growing once more day by day. The closer winter came the more she strengthened.
The demi goddess looked away from the sky and began walking through Eden light frost following her wherever she went. A warning to the creatures of Eden that her mother the lady of winter was on her way.

Crimson Death stood in the middle of an open, empty field, where there was no cover from the ice-tinged winds blowing through Eden as winter drew near. He smiled to himself, Winter was one of his favourite times of year. Many things die in Winter. He grinned as the breeze hit the blazing red welts on his skin, relishing in the sharp pain it caused him. He flicked his tail sharply at the tattered black butterfly that flew near to him, which danced out of the way just in time to avoid being swatted, sprinkling small droplets of blood on the ground.

Making her way to the clearing were the other equus stood frost spread across the landscape. The chilling wind hit skadi but she hardly noticed. Being the child of Coenea the winter's chill felt like a warm breeze. The mare fluttered her ice sheet wings and continued on. She knew there was another nearby she could feel it but either way it didn't matter, she had a job to do for her mother and would carry it out.

Crimson Death didn't move. He could hear the demigodess' movements as loudly as if she were a brass band, and he felt no need to turn and look at her. The bleeding butterfly fluttered a small distance away from him, in the direction of the approaching Mare. Its' wings didn't seem affected by the cold, unlike other butterflies, then again, most butterflies don't perpetually bleed.

The large crimson butterfly caught the mare's attention; most insects had flown away or died what was this one doing here? Skadi noticed small drops of blood falling from its wings, how peculiar. Secondly she noticed the large war equus with crimson butterfly wings.
“Is that you master little butterfly?” she inquired, seeing as the butterfly itself was unusual perhaps it was able to understand her. Skadi turned to approach the other equus.

The butterfly fluttered to and fro, close to Skadi, but not quite touching her. A few stray droplets of blood landed on the mare, only to vanish upon contact, just as the droplets that had hit the ground had faded away within moments. But it did not speak, for it was merely a butterfly, and could not, simply continuing to dance about the Demi-Godess, as if it were pleased to see her. The stallion was a world apart from his seeming companion, standing as perfectly still as a well-trained soldier, the only movement his hair as it blew in the breeze.

Skadi watched the dancing butterfly and she smiled slightly. So it was just simply a butterfly after all an unusual one but still simply a butterfly. Skadi felt the droplets fall upon her cold hide only to seeming evaporate. Skadi walked to the butterfly’s companion, the warrior stallion with crimson butterfly wings.
“I am the demi goddess known as Skadi.” She said simply and to the point. The breeze caught Skadi’s washed out hair. “Your butterfly is rather interesting, may I know your name warrior?”
