Is anyone here into herbal supplements or remedies with their horses? While I don't think an herb can completely replace a medication, I think they definitely can make a difference in certain situations.
Currently, Joy is in a raspberry leaf supplement for her uncomfortable heat cycles. It has helped tremendously to keep her comfortable, I am really shocked how well it works. I think back on how she was before I put her on it, and I kick myself for not trying it sooner!
Now, I'm considering trying out some fenugreek on her, more as a treat than anything. But it's supposed to help digestion, and be an anti-spasmodic to make her cycles more comfortable as well. Also, apparently it's a taste a lot of horses love. We'll see! rofl
So! Herbal goodies for the horsies. Yea or nay? xp

I actually used to be a really big skeptic. I didn't think just a bunch of 'dried plants' could make any difference in a horse, especially with their size. But I literally have completely ELIMINATED some of the issues I had with her thanks to the raspberry leaf. It made a believer out of me. rofl

A Good supplement my uncle found was Canola oil for the days your horses heaves or breathing isn't at it's best.
I find that simple things help your horse better then brand name stuff. Ex: Baby Oil as opposed to Show Sheen. Same purpose, does the same thing, but baby oil costs about 10$ or so and last longer. XD
