 It was early morning, before too many others were up and moving through the trees. There was still moisture on the leaves, which made it the perfect time for Ratanjali's plan.
Hiding herself as best she could, tucked back against the trunk of the tree to better camoflage herself, she waited for an unsuspecting Tokoro to pass beneath her, pause to study the berries she'd left piled together in a shape destined to make anyone look twice...
And be in the perfect position to get a little wet if they didn't move quickly when Ratanjali sprang forward, grabbed the branch above them and shook it, making an impromptu rain shower.

Phailin wasn't one who usually woke at the crack of dawn; on the contrary, she was one of the more nocturnal Tokoras in the Hujan pack. However, hungry and restlessness roused her from her bed at an ungodly hour, and what more could she do but abide by her stomach's whim?
Half-crawling, half-stumbling out of her shelter, Phai climbed down to the floor of the mighty Taraja forest to forage for something to eat. She picked her way past this and that, until she found herself staring at a very unique display of berries some ten feet away. Curiosity overwhelmed her need to eat, and she stalked forward cautiously, looking around as she went. Who knew what predator had set this trap?
She stopped standing over the berries, leaning down to admire the display curiously. No one had leapt out to try and eat her, so she assumed it was safe, and reached down to pluck up one of the berries to taste it.

Not a predator in sight. Nothing rustling in the bushes. Nothing but the sound of Ratanjali's laughter as she lept forward and shook the branch, sending moisture showering down. "Surprise!"

Phailin shrieked, but she couldn't get out of the way in time to avoid getting wet, and so... the shower hit her full on. She blinked in surprise, and looked up, unable to help the small grin that threatened to envelope her face.
"That wasn't very nice!" And despite this cry of protest, she couldn't help but laugh a little. Phailin rose onto all four legs, and started to shake herself off, fur poofing up in response to the sudden downpour. "Don't have anything else to do?" She asked, looking over at Ratanjali slightly indignantly.
And still grinning. Come on, it was funny. Phailin finished shaking herself off, and started to brush her fur back down with her paws, grumbling under her breath a little about it. It was fluffy enough on it's own!

Ratanjali grinned all the way down to the ground as she wound around the trunk of the tree and hopped a few branches. Once she was down, she answered, "I have plenty to do, but having fun's on the list. And that," she pointed out, "was fun."
She put on her best and brightest smile. "Good morning!"

"Well I'm glad I can amuse you." She snorted at Ratanjali, and shook herself off one last time, stretching as she did so. When the Tokora had proclaimed it a good morning, she shrugged, and yawned. "S'too early." And it really was. The sun was barely up.
"I'm Phailin." She looked over, and smirked a little. "Just so, y'know, you don't go about thinking I'm The One You Attacked With Water That One Time." Phailin turned to face Ratanjali better, and sat down, her tail curling around her slowly.

"It's light out," Ratanjali argued. "Time to be up and moving." Even if it was barely light. "Well, for a while," she amended. "Then it's time to be napping."
She grinned and sat, wrapping her tail around her legs too. "I'm Ratanjali. Instead of That One I'm Going To Knock Off A Branch Someday."

Phailin made a face. "It's barely light out. I could still be sleeping." She retorted, looking around and ignoring her grumbling stomach. It'd be fed when she found something, dangit, and it'd like it.
"I'm still going to remember to knock you off a branch, don't worry." She said dryly, grinning at Ratanjali and rolling her eyes a little, amused. She looked around, then, and spotted a group of berries that weren't arrange in a unique and misleading pattern. She took a berry and ate it, cautiously, then grinned.
"Breakfast." She looked over. "Want some?" She arched an eyebrow. "Even though I received a nice uncalled for rain shower?" She grinned at Ratanjali, still friendly despite it. It was just who she was, she couldn't help it.

"They're not going to hurt you," Ratanjali promised, picking up a pawful of berries to carry toward Phailin. She settled with them. "They're just berries. I just made a shape so you'd stop." She munched cheerfully.
And added, "I won't mind being knocked off a branch if you make sure there's something to land on. Or in. Water would be fair, I guess."

Phailin stuck her tongue out, grinning, and then took one of the berries out of Ratanjali's paw. "Then we've doubled the amount of berries, s'all." She plucked a couple handfuls of berries off the bush, and sat down, putting them down carefully on the ground.
"I'll shove you right into a lake." She snorted at her. "Okay?" Phai smiled, and then started to eat, tail curling around her again as if it was still asleep, even though she wasn't.

"More food for both of us," she agreed. She got up, scooped up more berries from her pile, and brought them back. "I'm pretty good at swimming," she offered. "And falling off a tree into the water could be fun." The tip of her tail twitched. "I can't promise not to take you with me."

Phai blinked at her, and then grinned, rolling her eyes. "You wouldn't." She proclaimed with the utmost confidence. And then she blinked. "......" She really probably would. Phai's ears flattened, and she looked over. "I'd... do something really mean." She nodded sagely. Take that.
"I don't like getting wet." Phai admitted, ears perking up again and nose wrinkling as she said it. "It makes my fur stand in end." Poor dear, not only did she have a pretty blue coat, but it was poofy. The worst of all things, don'chaknow.

She really probably would. Ratanjali tilted her head. "What do you do when you need to bathe? I mean, when you're really dirty?"

She stared at her, blinking, and then shrugged, sighing. "Then I take a bath, of course." She snorted. "That doesn't mean I like it, it's just what I have to do 'cause otherwise I get dirty and smell bad and get all matted." She made a face.

Ratanjali made a face back. "Ew." Said with the utmost in heartfelt spirit. Then she shrugged it off and went back to smiling. "We can't all be the same, I suppose. I'll like the water extra for you."
