Alrighty, too many single song threads so now you are required to post any and all discussions of led zeppelin songs here. there are a few simple rules.
no bashing of any songs.
only led zeppelin songs, not led zeppelin songs that were "rapped over" by P.Diddy
posting a topic about a song anywhere other then here will result in the thread being closed and up to 3 warnings to the maker, the third warning resulting in being banned from the guild.

d***o~McFaggatron i have a question about a zep song called "were gonna grove" its the first song they play on the led zeppelin dvd, but its not any of the albums? where did this song come from? When Zeppelin was touring for their first and second albums, they would get encore after encore, they would eventually run out of songs to play and play covers or other songs they may have wrote but didnt think it was good enough for the album. Coda is just a cd of a bunch of songs that didnt make the cut for the other albums. So Im just guessing thats why.

Selcouth Kitty I haven't heard anything from CODA yet (I guess..), Is it any good? Well, It has a couple good songs. The Coda in the Studio Boxset is better in my opinion, it includes 2 of my very favorite songs.

I really like Bonzo's Montreux, that's off Coda I think.
Would the Lord of the Rings references come into this thread? I don't care, I've started typing now.
Now I know there's the obvious ones like the Battle of Evermore and Ramble On, but what about others? I was thinking Babe I'm Gonna Leave You. There's a line that says "I need to ramble", (a reference to Ramble On and therefore LOTR maybe?) and it's followed by "I can hear it calling like it used to do". Now here it could be Bilbo talking about the ring calling him to it or the er... the countryside, the terrain, and he's talking to the ring because he's leaving it behind, like before he goes away again in the Fellowship of the Ring.
I dunno, what do you think? And are there any other less obvious ones?

stuntmonky I think you have some good points, Ive never thought of that before. Why do you hate it as a sticky? Because nobody ever looks at the stickies. I know I don''t, the only reason I''m posting this is because I already have. Heartbreaker, one of my favourites too. Really catchy riff of the kind that you don''t hear all that often anymore.

Grammar King stuntmonky I think you have some good points, Ive never thought of that before. Why do you hate it as a sticky? Because nobody ever looks at the stickies. I know I don''''t, the only reason I''''m posting this is because I already have. stare I do, and Im sure there are other people who do here aswell. I hate when people dont read the stickies, especially because then they go and break the rules or ask questions when the answers are clearly stated in the stickies.

I think "When the Levee Breaks" is such a well-put-together song.
I'm surprised they never used it for a Hurricane Katrina propaganda commercial or something. . . I mean, read the lyrics!
If it keeps on rainin', levee's goin' to break. (x2) When the levee breaks, there'll be no place to stay.
It's so freakin' obvious!! xd
That was wrong. . . Lord, I apologize. Be with the Pygmies down there in New Guinea. Amen. whee
