Ah, man. I have never collected the toys when I was a small kid.

He-Man was my first, and I loved that one so much. They were pretty high for the time and all so they came about sparingly. Coolest one I got after that was Fisto, and then Mantenna when the Evil Horde figures came out. I had Grizzlor, but there wasn't much to him.

The only two I have are Teela and the Sorceress. I have lots and lots of the She-Ra figures, though. razz My brother has some He-man toys, and my favorite of those is Skeletor.
One thing I've noticed about the toys is that no two are alike! My Teela, for instance, seems to have much more subtle/pale makeup than others I've seen. And--somewhat related--my She-Ra has a rather fat head and practically no neck. But some She-Ras have beautiful, normal-looking heads. I think it's a difference of their having been made in China, Hong Kong, or Malaysia.

I've never noticed any variants in the Teela or Sorceress figures, not that I really would have. There's a toy collector in the next major city, maybe he has a few different Teela's or Evil Lyn's like that.
I had bought the five pack of replicas that were released some time back (He-Man, Skeletor, Beastman, Man-at-Arms, and Prince Adam) and for some reason I went to the above dealer and bought the corresponding original completed figure for each one. I guess those are my current favs nowadays, lol.

They're pretty obvious differences. Like Jem dolls, I assume they differ depending on where they were made. For example, at least with Jem I know that they were made in China, Hong Kong, and Mexico (at least). There are varying shades of makeup color, hair style and length, etc. And I know that Mexican Jem dolls are more cheaply made, and harder to find, so they're quite collectible. ^^
