This thread is for general discussion of the various topics concerning the
Imperial Guard.

I highly doubt that those will be all turned to plastic. And I know for certain that FW would not turn their bestselling Krieg and Elysian ranges in crappy plastic kits, they are making too much money on those two resin ranges. The new guard codex will most likely either see the release of plastic Valhallans or a new plastic regiment bedecked in greatcoats, it is something that GW has been hinting at for years now. Personally I'd settle for plastic Praetorians pirate

The codex will also hopefully see the release of new Ratlings, Priests and hopefully an extra sprue for the Chimera and Leman Russ containing all weapon options. So a heavy flamer / bolter and autocannon for the Chimera and a twin-linked autocannon / Demolisher cannon plus sponson upgrades for the Russ variants, much like with the Space Marine Predator and Sentinel whom contain parts for various patterns.

Another big rumour is that Kasrkin will be done as a plastic boxed set and that to coincide with Planet Strike next year we will also get plastic Valkyries and Vultures.

My only fear is that GW is going to delete the doctrines and regimental organizations from the new codex, robbing us guard commanders of that extra flavour when creating an army and possibly ******** over those brave guys and gals who converted their guardsmen into cyber-enhanced or camo-cloak toting troops for long term gaming.

Yes, it's been almost eight years now since the last one came out. The Tau and Chaos also got a revised codex, so it's only fair that the Imperial Guard gets the same treatment.
