As some people know, I got my outer conch (Flats) dermal punched at a 4G about 3 weeks ago, And it has been one of the best experiences iv'e ever had. And now for the long, Boring background....
It all kinda started as a joke. My piercer and I were discussing some potential ideas for my ear, And after throwing ideas around for about 20 minutes, He said "You should let me do a dermal punch on you". I said "sure, can we do something else with it?" So after about 10 more minutes of debate, we came up with a collective idea. A Tragus to (Diagonal inner) Conch industrial, that ran out the back of the conch piercing up through a Dermal punch (A acrylic plug with a small hole drilled in it). I said, let's do it, So then the hard part came. I had to decide of a size for my dermal punch.
To make a long story short (And as im sure the title suggests...) I went for a 4G.
So anyways, Moving on to the punch itself. I wasn't sure what to expect, since I had never had one done. I read through hundreds of experiences on BME. I heard from some that the pain was minimal, while others said the pain was intense. I tried to keep an opened mind walking into the experience, which paid off in the end. So it came time to punch out part of my ear, How exciting?! Anywho, all the prep work was done, Getting everything set up.. then it came time. So im laying on this table on my side, waiting for the pain to kick in.. and to my surprise, there was little to almost no pain whatsoever. However, I could feel all the blood dripping down the side of my face (It was a very bloody procedure), But after the stop-bleed everything was A-OK, resulting in this...

It's been 3 weeks since it was done, And i now have a 4G single flare Pyrex glass tunnel in the punch (And it looks AWESOME). the hole is healing up just fine, and I have had absolutely no problems whatsoever thusfar. I plan on going back and having the other ear punched in the same fashion, because Iv'e had that great of a time with this one.
And now some more pictures for your viewing pleasure.
