The setting is a planet very much like Earth, in fact it holds the same name. The time and technology is very similar to what it would be about fifty or sixty years into the future (2057-2067). This is not 2001: a space odyssey; there is not outstanding space travel, other than traveling to numerous stations on the moon.

The planet is mostly made of water, surrounding three major continents (there are a few, much smaller continents, but the main three are extremely larger). The continent on the western hemisphere is named Domalde and is under complete control of the Empire of Valhalla. The Eastern continent is mainly one entire country (with the exception of many, much smaller countries) named Spärta.

The Empire of Valhalla (EoV) and Spärta have been at war since the beginning of the two nations. After the last Great War (The Clash of 2026) a treaty was passed to please both nations. The war was fought over the control of the third continent, Muræsur. Muræsur lies almost evenly in the middle of EoV and Spärta.

Muræsur is split into two countries: Æsur (Which is under EoV rule) and Murdok (Which is under Spärtan rule). They are known as the Bordering Nations. There is a ten mile border of wasteland between the two nations, leaving just enough breathing room so that they do not attack each other by "mistake".

The wasteland is a baron desert like land. It is covered in sand and rock and the few trees which are still present are charred or long dead. There is no value in the land whatsoever. At their respective borders each country is dug in with trenches and barbed wire, a scene that is very reminiscent to our World War I.

Early one morning the Spärtans had executed a major blitzkrieg against Æsur, overtaking almost the entire country in only a few days. They had wiped out the bulk of the army and destroyed most of the cities. Æsur's only hope is that the Empire of Valhalla sends enough reinforcements in time, but the Empire is also busy defending other major attacks on seemingly random reaches of the empire.

The Breakdown

The technology will be similar to, though more advanced than, our own. Have you ever seen the game "Killzone"? That is exactly the technology I am talking about. You will play either a soldier or a citizen or even another group, but whatever you play it will be on the side of Æsur, no exceptions.

We will start off the RP where ever and when ever, either a little bit before the attack, but ending within the attack, or just after the initial shock of the attack. But once enough characters come into play we will begin the "Missions" era.

Missions: They will be discussed in the OOC thread. They will be various types of missions involving, but not limited to, taking back an area or storming a Spärtan stronghold. We will discuss who will be apart of the mission (if anyone wishes not to take part) and the starting location and the topography and such.

Spärtans: Side note. Here are some pictures of how they look: [x] [x] [x]

General Rules
-Follow Gaian ToS.
-Follow the rules of this Guild (especially the literacy requirement)
-No posting in this thread. I like to keep things neat and orderly.
-Keep the adult language to a minimum. I know they are not allowed at all, but I can understand one or two slips, and I am not going to chase everyone out of the RP for foul lanuage.
-Listen to all Moderators (including those of the guild!).
-PM either myself or an RP moderator your profiles and wait for a response before posting.
-Type in "Hop-Scotch" as your subject line to prove you read the rules.
-The "Æ" in "Æser" is inserted by pressing: Alt + 0-1-9-8
-The "æ" in "Muræsur" is inserted by pressing: Alt + 0-2-3-0
-The "ä" in "Spärta" is inserted by pressing: Alt + 0-2-2-8
-With the last two rules said, I expect you to use them. If you are have trouble let me know and I will help you.
-I have the right to add/remove/change my rules at any time.
-If you decide to leave, let me or an RP moderator know.
-highlight the blank space below.

-Ignore the "Hop-Scotch" rule and type in "Aqua Teen" as your subject line.
Profile Rules
-Under the "Weapons" section, do not exaggerate your inventory. You cannot have eight different weapons all with unlimited ammunition.
-Under the "Bio" tab, this is not so much your biography as it is how you survived the two attack phases and why you are where you are now.
-Under the "Specialty" section, do not put anything like "karate expert" or anything similar. It is not realistic or even believable. The better skills are mechanics or engineering. Use a specialty that agrees with your weapon. If you have a heavy machine gun your specialty would be supporting fire, demolition man should have plenty of grenades, etc.
-Copy/Paste the profile skeleton provided. When you fill it out the profile be sure to leave only the section title in BOLD.
-Your Profile's skeleton should be as follows:

Gaian Name:
Character Name:
Age:
Specialty:
Weapon:
Personality:
Bio: (not so much their biography as why they are where they are at this time)
Appearence:

Hello? Heavens, I hope to the heavens this works. Is there anyone left? My name is Ian McKellen. I have found this last crude radio transmitter, transmitting through AM frequencies. If anybody can hear me, there are survivors among us. I, myself, am with a group of injured and elderly. If you are like myself you woke up to a horrific event. This morning, Æsur was attacked. Our long time enemy, Spärta, set forth a major blitzkrieg against our country, the border nation to the Valhalla Empire. Please hear my plight. This is the time when our patriotism must shine! Friends, family, countrymen, all able-bodied persons please, take up arms and join the militia which has formed of the ashes of our great army. Take up arms and join the Æsur Militia, the Valhalla and Æsur is counting on you. For now I must cease my transmission, lest the Spärtans intercept and track me down. Farewell, brethren.

Locations

This is the section where I will explain the various locations within the nation of Æsur. They will be explained individually, all except the trenches.

Vanir

Vanir is the capital city of Æsur. It has three large and very distinct districts, starting directly after the bordering base and running through the center of Æsur. The first district is the slums.

Where to start? The slums are made of almost nothing but apartment buildings. The only way to get into the slums from the base side is the subway system. You would start from the tracks under the base and go to the station under the slums. From there you would take either the stairs or elevator to the ground floor. Even before the attack the elevators never worked. Station goes up one floor and then another before going up three more floors. The rooms the occupy the floors are offices for the local police station. The floors below ground and on the ground floor are the offices and the three floors up are the actual holding cells. Since the population is mostly made of service men and women there is relatively little crime. The prisoners are taken from the holding cells to a prison district in another city via subway.

Above ground you are taken to a road large enough for two full sized tanks. The roads travel through the slums in a perfect grid. The housing is complexly neat. Every space is occupied by a large apartment building or a large warehouse. The apartment buildings are so massive and in so large a number that they are built over the roads, creating tunnels.

Now that the attack has come through the slums have become even worse to the eyes. Buildings with large holes made from explosions, crumbled debris and broken fences. Some tunnels have even collapsed. The emergency roadblocks have activated. The road blocks go only half way into the road and alternate sides. They are made of two foot thick steel walls the retract from the ground. They are five feet tall, but due to some malfunctions many of them have not retracted fully. They are designed to impede enemy tanks from entering deeper into the city.

The slum roads eventually lead to an overpass into the city. Under the overpass however, is a large park. The park is made of various large islands connected by rather small foot bridges. The islands are surrounded by small creeks that are easily passable by a tank or large vehicle.

Shortly after the attack, after the Æsurian soldiers were pushed back into the city the Spärtan army invaded the park with drop ships. They set up temporary camps which littered the park. Not much geographical change other than one or two craters caused by explosives, most likely tank shells.

The next district is the metropolitan district. There are three ways into the city: the overpass, the mall, and the foot paths. There are not many ways into the city because not many people who live in the slums work in the city. There are more series of subways into the city which lead from the surrounding residential areas from the other cities. The subways in this district are nearly exactly like that of New York on Earth. The streets in this district are rather small, a 'small' tank would be able to drive on both side walks. The buildings towered over the landscape, able to be seen from even the trenches on a clear day. This is where the obvious white collar type jobs are done, mainly sorting, buying, and selling goods to and from Valhalla.

The Æsurian capital building is in the geographic center on the business district. Looks like a white, square building with no windows. One side has stairs stretching across the entire side and leading up to a row of doors. Behind the doors is a large lobby with six elevators. Each floor is a different department. Even without the windows the building is kept very well ventilated.

Behind the capital building (the opposite side as the doors) is a large, walled in courtyard. The courtyard has a large fountain in the center surrounded by various concrete walls and hedges. At the far end of the courtyard is a small bunker-like building. This is the only above ground entrance to the emergency base.

This district is where the bulk of the fight is taking place. The Æsurian forces and the Spärtan forces have come to a relative deadlock, thought the Æsurian forces will eventually succumb eithout significant reinforcements.

Behind some more buildings (which come after the capital building) are large warehouses. These warehouses store the military and miscellaneous supplies such as ammunition, weapons vehicles and their maintenance parts, etc. The warehouses are huge, about twice as long as any given business building.

Immediately on the other side of the warehouses is the harbor. This is where supplies are received and sent across the Empire of Valhalla. When the EoV fleet arrives, this is where the bulk of them are planned to arrive.

Across the harbor are various docks, all lined up side-by-side. The docks are separated into threes. Every three docks share a warehouse (which also shows how enormous the warehouses are). In each section there is a large yellow and orange crane (used to load/unload cargo). The cranes' height varies anywhere from thirty to forty storeys.

Now the docks are littered with cargo containers. When the dock workers were informed of the attack they stopped work immediately and began their help efforts, unloading many of the weapons and ammunition. An entire unit of Æsurian soldiers are devoted to keeping the dock secure. They have seen little action. What they do see are a small number of Spärtan recon speed boats, but have managed to sink them.
