Name: Zagore Deberon Gender: Male Height: 6' 2" Description:
Zagore has cold looking steel grey eyes and thick midnight blue hair that he keeps in a tidy braid. Standing a little over six feet tall, Zagore has a light wiry frame, that looks a bit frail at first glance, but years spent trekking into hard to reach and inhospitable locales has given him a surprisingly sturdy frame and a well developed physique. Still, nature never intended him to be a bodybuilder and despite his efforts to bulk up a little he'll always look on the scrawny side. Generally he dresses in neat style, trying for an air of sophistication, but tends towards loose fitting and comfortable clothes, he rarely goes into town without his favourite coat, regardless of the temperature. Occasionally wears reading glasses that he despises because of how they make him look, yet he caries them everywhere since he is too farsighted to read without them. ((see picture to the left)) When he ventures off on an expedition though, he choose more functional, tight fitting clothes that won't snag or tear easily, leaving his favoured coat safely at home along with the glasses, preferring his sturdy magnifying glass. ((see picture to the right)) Bio: How he came to be: Well little is known of his Origins, his earliest memories are of growing up in an orphanage run by a simple order of monks, when it turned out that he had a innate ability towards magic, it was arranged for him to attend a school to pursue magical studies to prepare him for admission to an Academy of Magic when he was old enough. It was while Zagore was studying here that he developed his fascination with History, Mythology and Ancient civilisations. After he left the school though he chose not to pursue a life of of a sage or wizard, instead choosing a more adventurous life as a treasure hunter. He continued to study magic but solely as a pass time, self thought from teh books and grimoires he came across.
Zagore's real passion though was to explore places no one else had seen in centuries, eager to learn the secrets of those who had passed away eons ago. However he soon learned than going on a treasure hunt was much harder than he had imagined, they were time consuming, requiring great preparation, planning, resources, manpower and most importantly financing. Luckily for Zagore there were many people as eager as him to learn those long lost secrets and to own relics of the past, but who were a lot less eager to go wandering into unsafe ruins and near unreachable valleys long lost from any map.
Financing his expeditions by trading in the artifacts he found, Zagore soon started to turn a tidy profit and his goals were slowly corrupted. Developing a taste for a life full of the expensive and refined, his expeditions came to about making the next big score as much as finding an unknown antique. And so Zagore's simple expeditions to find long lost treasures has grown into a relatively successful business dealing in unusually rare antique's and relics.
What he is: Now in his late twenties Zagore has wandered far from his original path as a tomb raider, spending much of his time between libraries looking for leads and haggling with hawkers in antique stores and market stalls all over gaia. But the thrill of finding a previously untouched site still draws him and he tries to be the first one in whenever the opportunity arises, his desire for discovery not totally consumed by his growing greed.
Still he has become somewhat jaded and cynical, he tends to see the whole world as one big grey area with no 'real' right or wrong. As such he has taken actions many might call evil but which he merely thought most beneficial to him at the time. Simply put, evil pays better and in Zagore's opinion those who hold too tight to their morale's may find themselves holding little else.
Where is he going: Of late though he has come to obsess over the rarest of the rare, those relics that survive from a long lost civilisation known only as the 'Ancients'
Personality: A calm and stoic individual, who looks down on those who let themselves get carried away by their emotions or act on impulse. He sees the whole world in shades of grey, it's just a factor of profit to him Hobbies: Reading, Visiting Museums, Theatre, Collecting Unique Items Favourite Place: Dusty Libraries, Marketplaces, Ruins not yet plundered explored Likes: Fruit, Classical Music, Haggling, 'Acquiring' Rare Pieces, Money Dislikes: Wild Goose Chases & Dead Ends, Loose Ends, Missed Opportunities Orientation: >3> If ever I created an asexual character this is him Current Status: In a dusty library looking for his next lead. Quote: “Whats in it for me?”
