Has anyone ever heard of the Reduced Shakespeare Company? They used to perform in the Criterion Theatre in London's West End, but they're gone now. I think they started in America (California maybe?) in the 1980's. Anyway, they're very funny, and well worth looking into if you haven't heard of them: www.reducedshakespeare.com Some friends of mine and I put on their Complete Works Of William Shakespeare Abridged play when I was in high school. An example line from their Romeo & Juliet was "A nose by any other name... could still...smell....", Othello was rapped, the histories were all put together into a football game. To add to the hilarity, there are only 3 parts (all male, but my group turned it around to all female) so the female parts are played by a guy in a skirt and bad wig. So, yeah. Sound familiar to anyone??

I absolutely love the Reduced Shakespeare Company. Adam Long is my hero. I own the DVD of "The Complete Works of William Shakespeare(abridged)" and am constantly quoting it. One of my favorite parts is when they are talking about Ophelia's thoughts and they say, "Cut the crap, Hamlet. My biological clock is ticking and I want babies now!" I actually said that(with the motions) to my friend while discussing Ophelia after a performance of Hamlet and the look on her face was just priceless! rofl
