Daddy, can I have five hundred dollars? Name: Veist. Age: 27. Species: Full human. Abilities: Nothing unnatural, but certainly abnormal - Veist is extremely intelligent, more so in his chosen fields than every day life. He's an excellent mathematician, scientist, engineer and inventor. Employment: Err, self-employed. Veist is apart of a series of various crime syndicates, working more freelance than attached to individual families. He's basically a criminal mastermind. Personality: Veist is a closed off man, preferring to keep his business his and no one else's. Though most would assume he'd be an awful parent, truth be told he's a most excellent man at keeping tabs on people and keeping them out of trouble (when they aren't supposed to be in trouble, that is.) He is also not near as cold or distant toward his children as people might also assume; seeing in his daughters the remnants of his beloved and determined to raise them as she would have, while simultaneously wreaking his bloody revenge. He's calculating and cool to be sure, and dangerously protective over what he calls family now, so the short of it is; Veist isn't one to be crossed. Bio: While not a necessarily cruel man or one filled with rage or hatred, Veist's intelligence separated him from his brother and sister to his single mother who made quick work of exploiting him and getting him in front of cameras. Seeing the world better than most adults did, reading deep into peoples motivations and maturing far too fast for a child his age, Veist quickly made the decision to stop 'performing' and try to become 'normal' again, resulting in a loathing from his mother who was killed driving drunk when Veist was 15. His younger sister and himself were taken in by their older brother, though by 18 Veist had left any 'home' he had to live on the streets. He was exploited again, this time by crime gangs and families, and Veist's inability to find any real moral dilemma with taking what you can made him a professional thief and a very wealthy man in no time. Money was never his goal, however, and he became quite suicidal until a woman stepped into his life. Though his image of her was quite romanticized and idealistic, he saw in her far too much hope and placed on her the fabric and dependence of his existence. She was, in truth, not a woman without her faults to be sure - but generally free spirited and far more morally stricken than her new husband, she lightened his life in numerous ways. Still, Veist could not and did not deny his existence or standing in the crime world; nor did he want to give up his masterful heists, but instead Veist had a rather sudden free-will of his own and became headstrong to guide his own 'jobs' and work alone. Retaliation was quick, Veist's wife Shyla was killed in mafia hit, and rather than snap back to suicidal tendencies, Veist's become bent on salvaging his family and getting revenge. Rumor has it, Shyla had been trying to become pregnant before she died. Shyla Rose Tumes - Gone, but not forgotten. She gave us this knatty hair, after all! Name: Shyla. Age: 23 at time of death. Species: Full human. Abilities: Making the best out of situations, lightening up Veist's world. Employment: Err, trophy slash beloved wife of renown crime mastermind? Personality: Shyla was young and naive when she met Veist, and almost instantly head over heels in love. She was a bubbly being, atrociously so optimistic it scared Veist at first - but he found her addicting, and she showed him trust, comfort and unassuming love he had never reveled in before. She was a loving, affectionate person... and though her morals were somewhat questionable, she disliked hurting people that 'didn't deserve it,' consequently breaking Veist of small time gun-theiving to international art thieving and CEO stock exploitation. They deserved it, after all. Perhaps, though, Shyla was too caught up in the glam and romance of being a theif's wife and was simply too naive and ignorant to see it for what it was. Bio: The daughter of a wealthy politician, Veist and Shyla have an all too cheesy and generic story. Shyla was coddled and in an attempt to 'stick it to her parents,' she started hanging out with the 'unmentionables' of society until she met her beloved. Entranced by his lifestyle, his romantic ideals and even his borderline suicides, she fell in love and 'saved him' and vowed to stay with him forever. But then she died, so clearly, she lied. Shyla had an absurd love for cheesy pop music, as in, Celine Dion.

A heart that's made of gold can't really beat at all. (so we traded it in for charcoal.) Name: Midas Shyla Tumes, though she will ask you to call her Mida. 1. Classical Mythology. a Phrygian king, son of Gordius, who was given by Dionysus the power of turning whatever he touched into gold.
Age: Around 1ish. Species: Full human. Abilities: Right brain overcharge, Midas is creative and imaginative to a fault. She can turn wood into charcoal by the touch - sometimes accidentally, though usually on purpose. This does include your brand new dinner table, so watch out! Employment: You mean being daddy's little girl isn't a real job? Personality: Midas probably shares a great deal of her father's intelligence, but rather than follow the logic driven scientific route he did, Midas is extremely right brain dominant and thus far more openly fanciful and emotionally driven. That said, she can easily come off as flippant and cold; her natural tendancy to be alone and an introvert to be sure. She likes to sit in her room and draw, in short. While she can be a sweetheart, as of yet she shares her father's moral lack-of-dilemma with thievery and might occasionally take what she wants if she can get away with it. Bio: First born of Veist (and Shyla, sort of!,) Midas isn't...alive yet. Of course, who's actually born 'first' from a tube will easily be open to interpretation later.
Run to the water, and find me there - burnt to the core but not broken. Cut through the madness of these streets below the moon, with a nuclear fire of love in our hearts. Rest easy baby, rest easy, and recognize that all is light and rainbows SMASHED TO SMITHEREENS and be happy.

It's a fight to the death over who gets to die first! Name: Midan Shyla Tumes, though she will ask you to call her Mida. --In various parts of Asia, an open space, as for military exercises, or for a market place; an open grassy tract; an esplanade.
Age: Around 1ish. Species: Full human. Abilities: Midan can walk on walls, including walking on ceilings and up skyscrapers if she should so please. Okay, I'll rephrase, she can run on them, too. She's extremely agile to boot, and has fairly good reflexes. Employment: If Midas doesn't need a job, neither do I. Personality: Midan is far more volatile than her father or sister. She takes living by her emotions to an extreme, and is passionate about breathing, none the less the rest of living. She's easily angered, her little rage meter fills up faster than a thermometer in hell, and like the rest of her family, see's no problem with taking if you can take it. Unfortunately, most of the time, Midan can take it - and she finds the thrill of stealing or mocking other people with what was once theirs addictive. She likes to poke fun to get a reaction out of people, and she likes to fight physically, which only plays with her passion and rage more so. When she is calm, however, she's full of quirks and absurd extrovert outgoing shamelessness. Bio: 'Second born.' Yeah, napoleon complex right off the bat.
It's easier not to be wise, to measure these things by your brains - I sank into Eden with you, alone in the church by and by. I'll read to you here, save your eyes, you'll need them your boat is at sea... your anchor is up, you've been swept away, and the greatest of teachers won't hesitate TO LEAVE YOU THERE By yOURSELF chained to FATE. I alone love you.

No, actually, we aren't related. Name: Sylvia Grace Tumes (AKA Sylvie Tombs) Relation: Midas and Midan's auntie, Veist's sister. Age: 25
Personality and Bio: Sylvia is the youngest of her two siblings, but you wouldn't be able to tell it by looking at her. Numerous indiscretions litter her short life and show up in the scars on her face and arms (mostly drug enduced, though a few you would have to ask,) which are barely covered by cheap makeup and overly abundant lip gloss. She is not, however, an unhappy woman - merely, as Veist' calls it, a 'simple one.' She certainly isn't the worlds most attractive creature either, both for her habits and what she's done to herself as well as her personality and birth-given gifts. Too skinny in some places, too pudgy in others, however Sylvia has little shame and inhibition over her appearance and bounces back instantaneously when insulted, (about her physical attributes, anyway.) Despite having various drug, gambling and 'companionship' addictions and spending most of her life in debt to loan sharks and thus running for her life, Svlyia is relatively optimistic (she has to be) and is happy to shower her nieces and brothers with love and affection. Ever since they were little Sylvia had it in her head it was her turn to play mother, and though she's utterly awful at it, she still tries. Sylvia adores Elvis, is a sucker for cheap romance and cheap wine, and lives every day as though it were her last. Smart thinking. Name: Lennor Percy Tumes (AKA Len, Lenny) Relation: Midas and Midan's uncle, Veist's brother. Age: 32
Personality and Bio: An aging tough guy and balding Romeo, Lennor is the end result of the life of a 'player' and those arrogant snobs you see everywhere living life as though they own the world. While he's not ACTUALLY balding and his life isn't ACTUALLY over, in between beers and smokes Lennor would tell you otherwise. He was, actually, a quite intelligent man at some time, but like his brother his intelligence was in his field of work, and certainly not common sense. He was relatively attractive at one time as well, and as his brother started getting famous in the underworld, Lennor wasn't shy about reaping the benefits. In the end, however, he was corralled by a diva-ish young woman named Asia, coersed into marriage, and now has two kids, a golden retriever, and a minivan. His kids are brats, his wife is a spoiled (and now, very unhappy and slightly overweight) woman, and Lennor' is 'miserable.' Hence, he retreats from his desk-job at a cardealership as often as possible to 'hang out' with his brother and sister who both openly state their distaste for him daily; in one of those love hate brother and sisterly ways, of course!
