Ask to work as many double shifts and longer shift you can for about 2-3 weeks. It'll be as brutal as hell, but 8 hours will seem like nothing anymore. When I was 16, a 7 hour shift was hell, now the only reason I can't do anything past a 16 hour shift is because I haven't the physical energy without energy drinks.

I can't though.. grocery stores are all unionized and have really strict regulations about overtime and how many hours you can work. Next week I'm on Mon-Fri 8 hours a day.. hopefully 2 weeks of that will get me more used to it.

You'll get used to it, but in the mean time wear cushony inserts for your shoes... if you're not already... That's what I do. I have a 5 hour class and then I go to work... so my feet only rest when I drive, if that counts.
