 I've been playing through Doom 3, and I was inspired to make a RP out of it. In essence, this is a science ficiton, horror RPG were you will be able to take the role of a scientist, doctor, mechanic or technician, marine seccurity, adminitrative staff, or otherwise anyone else stationed on the Mars facility which the RP takes place in. I will not control a character at all in this RP, but rather act as a game-master, and control everything that happens other than your characters themselves. In some ways, this RP will be quite realistic, as that you will take wounds which will stay with you, you will have to concern yourself with ammo, and you will die. If your character dies, then please go ahead and make another one, or even roleplay multiple characters. As the RP starts, you must start within the Mars City area, but as new areas are introduced, you may start new characters in those areas as well. Also, take note that I'm going to make up a scale for health and damage. I don't really care that much about how much damage you do, or how much health you have left, but rather it's more of a good way to tell how many hits from something you or your enemies can take. (ie: Zombie requires two shots in the head from a pistol.) Leading up to the RP, increasing cases have been reported of strange occurances such as voices where there should be none, or machinery operating with no feesable power source. As of late, there have been increasing cases reported to the base psychiatrists, and many have requested more seccurity personnel, as well as personal arms and armour. Background Setting Weapons and Items Enemies Characters Ect Take note that many of the descriptions have not been written by me, so while I have tried to correct many of the spelling and grammatical errors, I can't garuntee that I've gotten all of them.
Also, some of this is still much a work in progress, so don't be suprised if some things change a little on you.

Originally focused on weapons and defence contracts, new ventures have expanded into: Biological Research Space Exploration And other scientific endevours With unlimited funds and the ability to engage in research outside of moral and legal obligations The UAC controls the most advanced technology ever concieved... Here is a good intro and example of the atmosphere.

Weapons and Items These can't run out of ammo. Good for you. When you are out of ammo, or find yourself in a confusing situation, they'll sure come in handy. Does relatively little damage, 20 damage per hit, and 40 for a headshot  Not only the most important tool you'll use, but you can also swing with it in close combat. If you really need to use a weapon in close combat, use the flashlight, not your fists, since it'll do more damage. PDA: UAC Standard issue light source. This model utilizes a static transfer power supply, so battery replacement is unnecessary. The Flashlight does 40 damage per hit.  The first shooting weapon you'll get. However, you can shoot fast enough to do quite some damage in a short time. You can use it to weaken enemies at longer distance, then switch to a better weapon. PDA: All UAC Security and Military personnel are supplied with this basic projectile side arm. The pistol does roughly 15 damage, or 30 for a headshot, with a rate of fire of 3 shots every second.  A shotgun. For close combat nothing touches it. It holds 8 shots, scatter of course. But i wouldn't recommend for long range. PDA: The shotgun deals considerable damage at close range, however the wide spread limits long range effectiveness. The shotgun can do up to 200 damage at point blank range, but for every five feet away your target is, subtract 50 damage. It fires one shot every 2 seconds.  The Sub Machine Gun is a rapid firing weapon with 60 shots a clip. Its accurate and good for long and medium range targets. Not the most powerful weapon but a replacement for the pistol over long range. If fired in bursts, it is very accurate, but the longer you fire, the more inaccurate it is. PDA: The MG-88 Enforcer delivers a high rate of fire and dependable accuracy when fired in short bursts. Standard Marine Infantry issue. It does 15 damage per hit, 30 for a headshot, firing at a rate of 10 rounds per second.  Very powerful rapid firing heavy duty gun. It holds 60 bullets of pure power to tear apart anything that moves. PDA: The Chain Gun's 0.30 caliber armor piercing round delivers substantial damage, but heavy recoil reduces accuracy. Before the gun fires, it must warm up for 3 seconds, and then fires at a rate of 6 rounds per second. Each round does 30 damage, 60 for a headshot.  One of the UAC best in High-Tech weaponry. If holds 50 Plasma shots a cell. PDA: Energy based weapons developed in the Mars weapon facility. Unit is powered by plasma canisters manufactured in the EnPro facility. It does 30 damage per hit, and 60 for a headshot. It fires at 8 shots per second, but the plasma shots move at a slow rate, so targets at a distance may simply sidestep out of the way.  Grenades are well.. explosive. Just throw the grenade, keep the pin, not the other way around. Great when you are outnumbered by enemies. PDA: The infantry issue fragmentation grenade is activated by a twist detonator. They cause damage within a radius, at impact causing 150 damage. For every five feet away from the blast, damage is decreased by 25.  Close Range weapon. If you must hack your enemies close range this is your weapon of choice. PDA: Self powered chain-blade cutting tool. Part of a shipment incorrectly routed to the Mars dropship distribution centre. For every second the chainsaw is applied to the target, it causes 50 damage.  Holds 5 Rockets at a time. Packs a powerful punch but is slow firing. PDA: A portable self-propelled rocket designed for demolition and debris removal, this model has been modified for use as a military weapon. Does 170 damage to the target, and splashes 125 damage up to 10 feet away. Like the Plasma Rifle, more agile targets will be able to dodge out of the way. Fires one rocket every 2 seconds.  This is an Experimental weapon created by UAC personal to battle the creatures found behide the portals in the new world. It holds 4 shots of amazing destructive powers. The longer you hold the trigger the more powerful the shot, consuming up to all four rounds. However, if you charge it up too much, it will explode, killing the user. PDA: This prototype fires a threaded variable energy charge. UAC technicians have warned of stability issues at full power. For every charge consumed, it will do 200 damage, causing 100 damage to everything else within twenty feet.  The PDA is vital for your work at the Union Aerospace Corporation. Stores your e-mails video discs and allows you to download and access other people's PDAs which you find throughout the game.  Key card. A key basically only fancy and electronic.  Armour gives you an additional 50 protection. Armour is depleted before your health is.  Armour shards give you an additional 5 protection.  Bullets give you something to shoot with. There are different kinds for different weapons.  Cells give your plasma gun fuel.  Rockets give you something explosive to shoot with.  Frank's Lunch is the most deadly item. Throw his mouldy lunch onto the floor in front of an opponent and watch him pass out from the stench of it.  The backpack allows you to carry more items.

EnemiesAs the RP progresses and new enemies are introduced, they will be added here. ZombieFormer employees of the UAC, they now live only to take your life from you. Slow and relatively weak, they are in comparison of little threat. HP: 80 Damage: 10 with fists, 20 with tool Z-SecThe former seccurity of Mars City, they now use their weapons once issued for keeping you safe to kill you. They retain their mobility and military knowledge, and will use cover and tactics against you. HP: 100 Damage: 10/round with Pistol, 8/round with Machine Gun, 8x5 with Shotgun

Dr. Betruger: The leading scientist of the UAC facility on Mars.
Sergeant Kelly: He is the ranking non-commissioned officer on the Mars Base, in charge of all UAC seccurity.
Councilor Elliot Swann: Sent by the Board of Directors of the UAC to investigate strange occurrences on the Mars Base, in particular the experiments of Dr. Betruger with teleportation devices.
Jack Campell: The bodyguard to Elliot Swan.
Johnathan Ishii: A scientist within the Delta Science Team, working on some of the most important experiments.
Ian McCormick: Another scientist working in the Delta Labs, he works often as a personal assistant to Dr. Betruger.

Player Characters Note that all players have up to a total of 100 health, and up to a total of 125 armour. All characters start with their fists. Technicians and Marine Seccurity start with Flashlights. Marine Seccurity and some others may start with pistols with an additional two clips (24 rounds). Some Marine Seccurity may start with either a Shotgun (20 extra rounds) or a SMG (60 extra rounds). You can use a different format if you want, but just make sure you have a name and occupation. You don't have to be too particular about your character. NPC Name: George Black Occupation: UAC Alpha Labs Scientist Status: HurtAppearance: Of an average build, George has black hair, and is usually seen wearing his white lab coat and blue rubber gloves. A distinguishing feature is his glasses, and he also often has a light beard. Biography: Seeking to further his career, George decided to make the move to Mars since he had nothing he was particularily attached to. However, he did bring his peace lily with him, and it still remains the closest thing to him, even after working on Mars for a few years. HP: 74 Armour: 0 Weapons: N/A NPC Name: Fred Smith Occupation: UAC Mechanic Status: HealthyAppearance: Fred is a rather ordinary fellow, a tad on the skinny side. Notable features are his bald head and orange mechanics suit. Biography: Getting a degree in mechanical engineering and working on cars for years, Fred wanted a well-paying job that he could retire on as he got older. However, after being on Mars since near after the first people came, he has been more than willing to leave. The rumours only made it worse. HP: 100 Armour: 0 Weapons: Wrench Flashlight Heretic_Inquisitor Name: Elizabeth Kriegsman Occupation: Administrative Secretary Status: Hurt Appearance: A little on the large side for a woman, Liz has long blonde hair and a quiant pair of glasses. Perhaps it is only because of so few women on Mars, but she gets hit on, a lot. She wears a black semi-formal suit with a skirt. Biography: Liz moved to Mars from New York in order to make higher wages, to save up for a few years before moving back to Earth. She's only been there for a few months, but she already has requested for a transfer out. HP: 90 Armour: 0 Weapons: N/A Sargent SwitchBlade Name: Jimmy Williams Occupation: Marine Security Status: HealthyAppearance: Jimmy is about 5foot 8 and rather broad. He wears a mandatory bulletproof vest, and gloves. He also wears cargo pants on with regulation combat boots. All of these are black. He has a blue tooth communicator as well, that he uses to relay info from his command to his men. As well as the bulletproof vest, Jimmy has a black shirt along with a black jacket. (Basically the Doom Marine suit. I haven't seen the movie or played the game in quite a while.) Biography: Jimmy was in the Marines in California. When the movement to Mars began, they need volunteers to guard the scientists. Jimmy quickly signed up, and was one of the first on Mars. HP: 100 Armour: 50 Weapons: Flashlight Pistol 12/12 (24) [.Psycho.Doughboy.] Name: Alexander Reed Occupation: UAC Marine security (Corporal) Status: HurtAppearance: 5' 10", Dark brown hair in a crew cut. Blue/gray eyes, high cheekbones, slim, but broad shouldered and defined musculature. Either wearing standard issue marine armor or a red racing jacket, with black cargo pants and combat boots. Biography 25 years old and a career marine, Reed was transferred to Mars about 2 years ago, he was one of the first to start suspecting something was wrong while on station around Delta labs, where he was observing development of Delta's new project, he saw something very strange. As time went on with repeatedly saw Dr. Betruger during his patrols of Delta, and each time, he seemed more and more erratic. He decided to keep silent. As time went on, Strange occurrences started happening. Finally, he discussed what he had seen to the rest of the marines in his team. The next day, he was assigned to a new team in charge of Alpha Labs along with a few more people, and the rest of his team were assigned to a special assignment involving Delta's new project. He hasn't seen them since. That was a week and a half ago... HP: 85 Armour: 36 Weapons: Flashlight Pistol: 10/12 (18 ) MG88 Enforcer Submachine gun: 45/60 (0) Fina Xanth Name: Mina Xanth Occupation: UAC Weapon Research and Developement Scientist Status: Healthy Appearance: Long black hair that reaches to her mid-back. She keeps her body in shape, doing exercises when she can. Therefore, her body shape is rather slim. She is usually seen wearing a red jacket, black shirt and skirt, as well as black shoes and stockings. If she's not, then she's usually wearing a long, white lab coat with the same type of clothes beneath, except without the stockings. Either way, she's ALWAYS got her flashlight with her somewhere, usually in a pocket or in one of her hands... Biography: Mina grew up away from the city. Nothing special. She breezed through her education rather easily, very interested in learning most everything there was to learn about just about anything. However, she is terrified of the dark. It's always been an incurable phobia of hers. As much logic as she put into it, darkness has always sent a chill up her spine. Regardless, there was alot of money to be made on Mars working for the UAC, so she moved to Mars City and was assigned as a scientist to help with Weapon Developement Team. Her current project is the improvement of the Plasma Rifle. HP: 100 Armour: 0 Weapons: Flashlight. Invader_Skooge Name: York Freeman Occupation: UAC Marine (Sergeant) Status: Hurt Appearance: York is 6 foot and weighs 190 pounds. He is 27 years old and has worked as a UAC marine since age 22. He wears a long tan trenchcoat and black gloves. He has equally black boots that cover most of his urban camo pants. He also wears an urban camo shirt and a black vest under his trenchcoat, but they are only seen when he isn't wearing his trenchcoat or when it is unbuttoned. York wears dark-tinted sunglasses that cover his eyes. His dark brown hair hangs over the shades slightly, and he has to shake his hair out of his face now and then. Biography: York worked as a mercenary from age 18 until age 22. At that age, he became a UAC marine and did well. He rose through the ranks at a fast pace. He knows a lot about weapons and survival. He could probably use just about any weapon out there. York is also very smart and therefore makes good decisions, but he is known for for taking risks. He was transferred to Mars recently and brought a squad of men along with him (Bravo Team). They arrived safely, but they are yet to receive orders. HP: 70 Armour: 16 Weapons:Combat Knife (counts as Flashlight with no light) Flashlight Pistol 10/12 (24)Shotgun: 7/8 (0) Machine Gun 51/60 (60) Me=Me Name: Jeremiah (Joe) Luffin Occupation: UAC Weapon Research and Development Scientist Status: HurtAppearance: Jeremiah usually wears the white lab coat given to all the Mars compound scientist. His hair is cut short, maybe ten centimeters in length, and it's a jet black color. As many of the marines jest, he's a white lab rat, due to his pale skin. His eyes are a dark shade of brown and he stands only an inch above five and a half feet. All in all, he's just a standard scientist placed on Mars for the more 'extreme' expirements. When off duty, Joe, will often be seen still wearing his lab coat as he forgets to take it off often because his mind is still wrapped around work. What can be seen while this is worn are his black or khaki pants and his black shoes. He also has a silver watch on his left wrist. Biography: Jeremiah was picked up by the UAC right out of college. Graduating Valedictorian at MIT with a major in Physics and a minor in Computer Programming, Joe was eager to join up with this renowned company. Knowing that many of the most advanced technologies did indeed spawn from this company. Within two years his expertise was required on more pressing expirements which would require him to move to the new Mars compound. Jeremiah didn't have much of a social life, though as most scientists are had a couple crushes here and there, and his family died off long ago. This meant he didn't have any ties to Earth and no real drawbacks by accepting there offer. Six years down the line, Jeremiah, now known as Joe, has been in and came up with many projects the UAC has offered. However, the ones he's involved with now seem to be a bit odd to him. And with the constant rumors and power failures, fear has crept into different crevices of his mind. HP: 71 Armour: 0 Weapons: Flashlight TH3_13377L3S7_HAX0R Name: Rainer Hathorne Age: 35 Occupation: UAC Field Surgeon Status: Healthy Appearance: Rainer is fairly average in height, scaling in at 6'0", and he is filled out, but far from burly. He has dark brown hair which goes just to his cheeks(face), and is parted onto one side, above, rather than in front of his forehead. He has chiseled features and a hopeful face, accentuated by his eyeglasses which rest over defined cheekbones. He almost always has a six o'clock shadow, and normally wears around a pair of BDUs, with bloused trousers, polished boots, and a pair of shoulder guards, which designate him as a medic. Biography: Rainer was born on Earth, into a family of 2, consisting of his mother, and his older brother, who served as Rainer's role model throughout much of his childhood. Despite the absence of Rainer's father, who had walked out before his birth, Rainer grew up well, and into a strong man quite like his brother, who had moved out to join the Martian colonies. Rainer served as a member of the Peace Corps for five years, then shipped out to Mars in pursuit of his brother, a few years later, during which he attended a community college on his Peace Corps scholarship. With his skills acquired in the Corps and his affinity for people's care and treatment, he became the on call surgeon for the Mars colony security, he is officially a medic. HP: 100 Armour: 0 Weapons: Medical Emergency Plasmatic Bonesaw (A specialized tool from Rainer's medical gear which has many-a-time proved it's usefulness in more ways than one, he carries it with him at all times. It is compact and features a sharp, relatively long, and large toothed serrated blade which moves back and forth at high speeds on an integral motor. The blade is retractable, and curved inwards. It has a function that allows it to produce a searing amount of heat during it's cut for field amputations, where cauterization is neccessary to keep the patient from bleeding out. It is well built, reliable, and hurts like a b***h.) (Counts as Flashlight with 1.5x damage.) Dmanz682 Name: Danny Mendez Occupation: UAC Marine Security (Corporal) Status: HurtAppearance: Danny is a well built man but not very muscular. He has short black hair and brown eyes. Biography: Danny came to Mars right before the accident's started to happen. He was on the last ride there. When he first got here the other marines were talking about the murders. Saying the scientists and marines going crazy. Monsters. Sounded like a bad nightmare. Still Danny was sorta creeped that this was happening on his first day. Something was going to happen. HP: 95 Armour: 50 Weapons: Flashlight Pistol 5/12 (24) Machine Gun 49/60 (60) Sergeant Wolf Name: Revan Wolf Occupation: UAC Marine security (Corporal) Status: HealthyAppearance: 6"3, Dark brown hair in a crew cut. Blue eyes, athletic military build. He wears standard issue marine armor, with black cargo pants and combat boots. Wolf has been in the Marines for 12 years and was stationed on Earth till the need for more security personnel at Mars station. He came in with 12 other members and things seemed fine. First couple of weeks there they just watched over the staff and took care of minor things here and there. Evenyually some of the newer security guys started to come up missing after they were assigened to some sort of research project. Eventually his buddys were down to half. One of the guys he saw before he dissappeared seemed to be seeing things and ran off screaming towards the dig sites. Wolf wasnt prepared for what was soon to come...... HP: 100 Armour: 50 Weapons: Flashlight Pistol: 12/12 (24) MG88 Enforcer Submachine gun: 60/60 (60) Lord Gemini Name: Ian Slade Occupation: UAC Computer Programming Technician Status: HealthyAppearance: With thin glasses, short spiked black hair, and with general dark city apparel it is obvious that Ian was a sleazy hacker in his day. He constantly seems to have five o'clock shadow and even at the age of twenty five he seems to not have a handle on living in his own skin. Biography: Ian Slade was born in San Francisco California and from the earliest he could remember he loved computers. In his teenage years he was a hacker and found himself in a rough spot with the police and that was when the UAC got involved. They saw his potential and bailed him out in return for him working there in computer programming. At the age of twenty three he was a fairly prominent programmer and was given a position on Mars which he accepted and for the last two years he worked there and when odd things started happening he rigged several of the security bots to follow only his commands which when hell broke loose was very nice to have against zombies. HP: 100 Armor: 0 Weapons: A flashlight and a security bot that he rigged to follow him.

George leaned deeply into his chair at the kitchen, taking a moment to relax. He was scheduled to go to Alpha Labs in roughly an hour, and while he absolutely loved his job, it was always nice to take a moment to relax. Well, especially as of late. Recently he'd been hearing from the technicians as they've passed that they've hated going off alone as of late, going into dark places. He'd heard stories of people hearing voices when no one is around. These sorts of things could really creep someone out. He shook his head a little to clear his mind, and turned his attention to the table. George then grabbed his mug and took a sip of coffee. He loved his coffee before work.
