A very simple darkroom technique with awesome results.
I actually had 10 pieces in a gallery all done with this technique.
Here's two.

First, figure out the proper exposure for the print.
Then do a print, but don't stick it in the developer.
Instead, take a paintbrush and dip it in the developer.
Brush over desired areas, or in the case of the two examples, splatter on the paper.

Stick in stop bath and fixer and process normally.
voila!

comments, questions, etc??
I find it to be an amazing effect, i've tried to replicate it in photoshop, but nothing beats the real deal. you truly get an original print everytime.

I've seen this technique used a few times before, but none were this well done.

There's a lot going on here and I think that you've nailed them all. Composition, placement of the developer, exposure...I'd love to see the other 8 prints sometime ^_^

I've seen this done many time but just free painting, no negative. Yours however are very great, I love them. The first one with the skull inspires me to try it out for my self.

Keep it up :]
