Chapter 1 - The Diary.

Dear Diary. I have been following the man I saw. He makes his way from bar to bar and seems pretty popular. What do you think he does there besides waste time?

Elizabeth's pen scribbled across the old pages of her worn diary. Her room was lit with scented candles as she sat on her velvet bed. It was late night by now and Elizabeth was about to retire to sleep into the morning when she heard a tap at her window. Putting her diary aside, Elizabeth reached over and opened it slowly. It was her good friend James with a small bag in hand. His hair was golden blond and reached down to his very eyelashes and not a centimeter passed. His emerald eyes stared at her as lush lips formed a smile.

"I've got something for you. I think you'll like it," He explained with a arch of his eyebrows.

Elizabeth took the bag, passing James a kiss before reaching into the bag and pulling out its contents. They were pictures of the man she had been following for days. Elizabeth smiled and looked up at James with charming eyes that would make any man melt. The man in the pictures was seemingly tall. Elizabeth bet he had gorgeous, long legs that she couldn't wait to see. He had very short hair and dark circles around his eyes. The man was very pale but Elizabeth thought it only added to his beauty.

"Oh, Jamie! How did you get this one?"

Elizabeth held up a close-up photo of the man, a smile on his face as she looked straight into the camera.

"I asked him. I told him they were for a project," James waved his hand as if it was no big deal.

James bid her goodnight and told Elizabeth to get some rest. She had been going out during the day often and staying up until late night and it had been draining her energy. James wondered about her but knew she could handle herself. He kissed her on the forehead and drifted away into the warm night.

Jamie and Elizabeth had been together for years. Not together, but they were together nonetheless. Jamie was always looking out for Elizabeth and was like the big brother she'd always wanted.

Elizabeth admired her newly acquired pictures one last time before putting them all back into their bag and blew each candle out carefully. Elizabeth finally settled down in her bed and closed her eyes as she tried to embrace the numb feeling of sleep.
------------------------------------------------------------------

Elizabeth was awake before the morning sun had risen. She was just buckling her boots as the sun peeked over the houses around her. She opened her window silently and sneaked out of her house to look for the mystery man she'd been lusting over. Elizabeth wanted so much to ask him so many questions about himself and what his life was like. He looked so knowledgeable, he had to know something!

Elizabeth crossed her arms as she walked down empty sidewalks and watched as few cars passed by in the streets. He wasn't anywhere to be seen. Maybe he knew she was looking for him and left town. Frowning, Elizabeth turned and headed out to her favourite field to think.

The morning dew in the grass had already dried as Elizabeth sat down and rested her head on her arms which lay across her bent knees. She sighed with defeat and smooth back her hair. She felt extremely disappointed that she didn't get to see him today or even as up close and personal as Jamie did.

Just as Elizabeth was about to get up and leave, she felt a hand on her shoulder as someone sat down beside her. Elizabeth turned her head and a grin emerged on her face as a man smiled back at her. It was him. Elizabeth couldn't believe her eyes as she stared at the man she had lusted after since the moment she laid eyes on him.

"Hello. You come here too?" He asked in a gentle voice.

He had an English accent, Elizabeth noted. His clothes looked Victorian and she couldn't hope but make a mental note on how beautiful that coat looked.

"Yes, I do. I come here in the mornings usually."

The man nodded and reached out to smooth Elizabeth's hair out. He ran the honey blond hair through his fingers and smiled admiringly.

"You have beautiful hair. It's very soft. .Lizabelle."

Elizabeth closed her eyes and leaned into his hand. He paid special attention to the back of her hair where black streaks ran down to the tips of her hair. He continued these actions while pulling her into his arms, cradling her like a child while he stroked her hair. Elizabeth inhaled his scent and shuddered, smiling with her eyes closed as if she was dreaming.

The man bent his head down so that their lips were almost touching and put his hand on Ophelia's neck. His hands were freezing, as if he'd had them inside a freezer for the better part of his life. And then it hit her; who the hell was Lizabelle?

"What's wrong?"

Elizabeth's eyes fluttered open as she stared up at the man's piercingly beautiful eyes and scowled. She sat up and looked at him with curiousity and anger. It was like calling out someone else's name during sex.

"My name isn't Lizabelle. It's Elizabeth." She said, sounding out 'E' and 'beth' to distinguish her difference from whoever Lizabelle was.

"You're. .Elizabeth." He said. Elizabeth nodded and made to stand up but a cold hand grasped her wrist before she could straighten her knees.

"Perfect. My name is Maurice."

Chapter 2 - In Your Arms.

Elizabeth led Maurice through the field and tangles of streets to her house, the window still open as she left it. Elizabeth helped Maurice through the window and lit some candles as Maurice slowly closed the window. Maurice noticed all of Elizabeth's portraits and music sheets. He also noticed a very old violin on a pillow in the corner of her room.

"You seem to keep yourself busy when you aren't out," Maurice broke the silence casually.

"Oh, yes. I love playing my violin but it tends to irritate my family."

Maurice smiled and sat back in a chair near him, watching Elizabeth unbuckle her boots and arrange the papers on the floor. He picked up one that lay near his feet and read the title aloud.

"Lizabelle loved the violin. ."

Elizabeth turned her head quickly and looked at the piece of paper in his hand. She made a strangled cry and flailed her arms.

"Put that down! Put it down!" she exclaimed.

Maurice looked back at the paper and ignored her commands. The music played out in his head as he read each note, imagining how it beautiful it sounded on a violin. Maurice set the music sheet aside on her desk and smiled to himself.

"I often go to the beach for inspiration for my paintings,"

"I know. " Elizabeth answered with an exasperated sigh.

"How so? You've supposedly only met me today, Elizabeth." Maurice looked at her curiously, sitting up and uncrossing his legs.

"I used to watch you paint. I remember seeing you a few days ago, you were painting a picture of a young man."

Maurice smiled at her sharp memory and crawled down to lean against her bed. Tugging at her foot, Elizabeth set the papers on her desk and crawled into his embrace again. Her pupils widened with comfort as she tried to hide her smile. This had been what she had dreamed of since she saw this gorgeous man who know held her in his arms but he dreams had a little more romance and intricacy. Maurice stroked the back of Elizabeth's hair and inhaled the sweet scent of her skin, baring his teeth and yearning to sink them into her beautiful skin.

Elizabeth could feel his breath on her neck and covered her neck with her hand. Elizabeth's body stiffened in his arms as his fingers played across her collar bone. They looked at each other before Elizabeth relaxed again and brought her knees up to her chest. She wanted so bad to take his blood, to watch it drip down his lovely neck as he moaned with the overwhelming pleasure. Elizabeth shuddered and smiled when Maurice looked down at her with a confused expression on his face. Finally, Elizabeth sat up and looked up and looked at Maurice, resting her head on his shoulder.

"So. Who are you hiding from?"

"Hiding?" Maurice scoffed. "I don't hide from people. I need a place to stay and that's that."

Elizabeth closed her eyes and smiled, shaking her head. Maurice prodded at her and asked her what she found so amusing but Elizabeth gave him no reply. She simply buried her face in his neck and slipped a hand onto the bare skin of his side. With the two of them entangled in each other, Elizabeth felt as ease and fell asleep soundly.
-------------------------------------------------------------------

It was night by the time Elizabeth finally woke up again. She was laid out across her bed, Maurice nowhere to be seen. Elizabeth hoped he hadn't left as she opened her window and looked out at the still night. There was nobody to be seen and Elizabeth dreaded that he was long gone by now.

"You have a lovely home. I was just talking with your mother, actually. She says it's not often that strangers befriend her daughter and so boldly start a conversation with her."

Elizabeth closed her window and smiled but her smile soon turned to a frown as she slid off her bed.

"Why were you talking to my mother?" She asked in a stern voice.

"Maybe I felt like being friendly,"

Elizabeth just shook her head and slid her hands to Maurice's back and up his shirt, feeling the cold skin against her hands. She lifted up his shirt and looked at his pale skin, running the tip of her nose against it before sinking sharp fangs on his breast. Elizabeth heard Maurice moan shortly before she pulled away, licking apologetically at the wound while looking up at him with those gleaming eyes.

Maurice reveled at the girl's bold act. It was wonder she looked up at him and knew he wasn't badly injured. Maurice smiled down at her before leading her backwards and onto her bed, leaning down to n** at her neck. Maurice could tell Elizabeth had not been bitten before and was yearning for the wonderful feeling of teeth piercing her skin for the first time, but Maurice could also tell she wasn't ready. It would be too much for a girl her age. Being a vampire obviously ran in her family, she wasn't turned by anybody. Maurice felt relieved at the thought he would be her first bite.

Elizabeth was fed up with Maurice's teasing and grasped the back of his head, forcing his teeth to brush against her neck. Elizabeth purred and pawed at him to urge him to bite her but still he refused. Finally, Elizabeth gave up and laid back on her bed, crossing her arms and pouting. Maurice crawled on top of her and nuzzled at her cheek to get her to smile. But her pout didn't change a bit and Maurice decided not to try. He just rested his head on the bit of pillow above her shoulder and sighed, occasionally looking up at her and moving hair away from her face. Eventually her pout did fade but he expression remained serious and Maurice was too tired to even try anymore.

"You shouldn't make such assumptions that I may be even slightly like you. Maybe I just have sharp teeth," She whispered, licking the blood from her mouth

Shrugging, Maurice returned to her windowsill and watched from any signs of life outside.

Chapter 3 - Why Won't You?

Elizabeth didn't know she had fallen asleep and when she woke, Maurice was gone again. She didn't look for him this time because she figured he was probably downstairs again. Elizabeth got out of bed and changed her clothes, putting on her boots and slipping out of her window again. There was a club she wanted to see that was located in an alley. There were rumours that vampires went there often and Elizabeth wanted to go, too.

Elizabeth probably wouldn't be back until late morning but nobody cared. She was sure Maurice could handle himself and her mother didn't mind one bit. That's what she loved about her mom, she understood Elizabeth's curiosity. She crossed her arms and continued her fast pace towards the building, occasionally glancing down a dark street or alley to see if she saw Maurice. Before entering the club, Elizabeth took one last glance for Maurice but she still saw nothing. Sighing, she pushed the door open and strolled inside.

The room was lit by dim ceiling lights and there was furniture everywhere. There weren't as many people here as Elizabeth thought there was going be but he confidence stayed strong. She took a detour to the bar instead of one of the various couches and sat down on a stool, looking around at the different. . people here.

"Can I get you anything?"

A familiar voice from behind her made Elizabeth jump and spin around, coming face to face with the one person she hoped wouldn't see her here.

"Hello, Elizabeth." Maurice greeted her warmly.

He took a seat beside her and pulled Elizabeth into his lap, nuzzling at her neck with a smile on his face.

"It took you long enough to notice I was here. Or were you just ignoring me?" She said bitterly.

Elizabeth sighed and turned to him, rubbing her nose against his and smiling. Maurice found a secret thrill whenever Elizabeth acted so affectionate towards him, especially after all the things that had happened to her over the years. Maurice had lived for centuries and had lost valuable people but he had been so old that he'd learned to cope with it over time. Elizabeth was just a child. It was amazing how she handled it all so well, but his life would be in danger if she found out that he now knew pretty much every aspect of her life.

"What are you doing here anyway?"

"Nothing. Just looking for a little entertainment,"

"A little trouble on the side. . " Maurice mumbled.

Elizabeth sat up and scowled at him. Maurice chuckled and kissed her on the nose, laying his head on her shoulder and smiling up at her.

"Don't think you can fix it by looking at me with your soulless eyes. I'm not going to fall for it,"

Maurice laughed at Elizabeth stubborn nature and had her slide off his lap. He grabbed her hand and led her from the club hastily, looking back to make sure no one noticed they had left. When Maurice closed the door, Elizabeth yanked her hand away from him and turned to look him in the eyes.

"Why are we leaving? You didn't mind me being there until I didn't want your company,"

"You are far too naive to be in there alone. You wouldn't know how to handle yourself if anything drastic happened," Maurice answered brusquely.

Elizabeth glared up at him and growled, placing her hands on her hips. Elizabeth was perfectly capable of taking care of herself! Maurice was but a stranger to her, no matter how much she secretly yearned for him, and he had no right to tell her what she could and couldn't no do. Elizabeth glared up at him one last time before storming down the alley. She wasn't sure where she was going since she was going the opposite way she had come but when she looked back, Maurice wasn't there.

She was absolutely shocked. He had led her out here and then just left here there. Well if she wasn't allowed to go into the club then she'd find stray vampires to entertain her. As Elizabeth turned around she once again came face to face with Maurice. He had a stern look on his face and that's what worried Elizabeth most.

"You're not understanding what I'm trying to tell you. Do not mess with the things around this alley. You will all but make it out of here as the same person, let alone alive if you're lucky."

"Aw. Let the girl have some fun, Maurice."

Maurice and Elizabeth turned to look at the pale creature behind them. He wore leather pants and a coat but no shirt and locked eyes with Maurice. The two of them stared at each other for what seemed like another eternity. Finally Maurice grabbed Elizabeth's hand and marched off down the alley to take her home. The strange man followed him, grabbing Maurice's shoulder and spinning him around.

"She obviously doesn't want to go home, Maurice."

The stranger looked over at Elizabeth and smiled, brushing Maurice out of the way and taking a good look at Elizabeth. He smiled slyly and looked back over at Maurice. Frowning, Maurice didn't watch as the man left. He just dragged Elizabeth back home in the dark, not saying a word to her until they got back to her room.

"You won't listen to me, will you? You'll wait until you're so close to death you can taste it and then you'll wish you hadn't ignored me."

Maurice closed the window quickly and closed Elizabeth's curtains as he turned to glare at her.

"It probably wasn't the best idea to stay here with someone as reckless as you. The only thing you and Lizabelle have in common is your looks,"

Chapter 4 - Enough is Enough.

The rest of the night had been silent. Maurice and Elizabeth refused to talk or look at each other. Elizabeth felt like leaving again but she knew Maurice would have something to say about that, too. Elizabeth finally curled up on the floor and attempted to get some sleep so this dreadful night could be over already. She planned to whole-heartedly make it up to Maurice tomorrow.
------------------------------------------------------

Elizabeth woke to the startling sound of a knife dropping and a yelp. She sat up, feeling a little disoriented because she didn't remember falling asleep on her bed. Rushing to her bedroom door, Elizabeth peeked out to see if she saw anyone. There was another string of noises that came from the kitchen and Elizabeth crawled over to the stair banister to see what was wrong. Apparently, Mother had trusted Maurice enough to leave him alone with Elizabeth so he could cook breakfast.

Elizabeth smiled and watched as he went about with his task with a dull expression. I guess he wasn't as old fashioned as he let on, he handled their gas stove very well. Elizabeth watched him prepare food for them with mounting interest. She wondered where Maurice had learned to use stove let alone use it without burning the house down. A sudden pang of guilt shot through Elizabeth as she remembered last night's events. Everything would be better if she could tell him she was only there to make him jealous. She had no intention of actually having someone bite her.

Maurice turned and looked up at the stairs, motioning for Elizabeth to come downstairs. As Elizabeth approached him it hit her that Maurice wasn't wearing his coat. The rest of his body appeared to be just as pale as his face was. But there was still some colour left to him, maybe the only thing human about him that he still had left. Maurice smiled at her before turning back to tend to the eggs Elizabeth's mother had left him to cook. I guess she didn't have much faith in Maurice using her stuff, after all.

"I didn't know you knew how to cook," Elizabeth started.

"You think I live purely off of blood? It gets a bit old after a while. I enjoy some variety in my life, thank you."

Elizabeth smiled and sat down in a chair by the window. It was cloudy that day and looked like it could start raining at any minute. She hoped it wouldn't ; Elizabeth had planned on going to the beach that night. Elizabeth straightened up when Maurice brought over her plate of eggs and patted her on the head. She immediately slouched back down and pouted.

"Don't give me that look. Hurry up and eat your food, we have places to go today."

Elizabeth looked up at him and began eating her breakfast, looking at him occasionally. He was watching her eat while he slowly finished off his own breakfast. Elizabeth relaxed at the thought that he felt no regret about staying with her, as he had hinted at last night. Maurice sensed Elizabeth's distraught and got up to put his coat on. He spoke to her but didn't turn to look at her like he normally did.

"I told you to hurry. We haven't all the time in the world, you know."

Elizabeth sped up her eating process, coughing a few times as she choked down an egg. Elizabeth took back her thoughts on Maurice not regretting his stay here. He was just too hard to figure out and it would be best if she didn't try. Lowering her eyes, Elizabeth took hers and Maurice's plate and dropped them into the sink.

"I'm going to go change." She told him bluntly and made her way into her room.

Now was the perfect moment to wear her new dress. She would wear pants under it since she hated wearing dresses alone. She grabbed a pair of boots and slipped into the dress, pulling the pants on underneath it and buckling the boots tightly.

As Elizabeth came down the steps, Maurice saw great potential in her that he'd never seen before. Elizabeth looked more like Lizabelle now that she'd decided to wear something more fitting. Meeting Elizabeth at the bottom of the steps, Maurice led her out their back door. He explained to her how today was a very special day and that most of the ordinary people she would see today weren't human at all and were just vampires in disguise. Elizabeth was still lost in the dark as to why they were out here or where they were going, but she didn't ask any questions.

Chapter 5 - Hoping and Hating.

Maurice's grip on Elizabeth's hand tightened as they walked longer. It seemed like it had taken forever to get to the beach and when they got there, Maurice seemed an little uneasy.

He kept checking over his shoulder constantly and wouldn't tell Elizabeth what was going on. Finally, Elizabeth yanked herself away from Maurice, realizing her mistake when she saw the anger and fear that flashed in his eyes. Before Maurice could lunge for her and take her hand again, someone else had beaten him to it.

A rather cold man pressed his body against Elizabeth as he held her hand in his. His mesh shirt and leather pants made Elizabeth feel drawn to him and his intoxicating scent was overwhelming. Immediately, Elizabeth attached herself to him as if he was her very life line.

"Oh Maurice. You should really be more careful. Letting something so beautiful and passionate go like that. Tsk tsk."

"Don't you touch her! Do you understand me!? Don't you dare put your hands on her!"

The stranger stroked the back of Elizabeth's head as she reached up and buried her face in his neck. He smelled exotic. It was unbelievable who wonderful he smelled. Elizabeth could only remember wanting to sink her teeth into his skin so bad before passing out. Maurice lunged for her but he didn't reach her in time. Elizabeth's body and the stranger were gone in the blink of an eye and Maurice fell to the ground helpless. What was he going to do now? Feel worthless and tired, Maurice let out a piercing scream into the balmy air.
----------------

Elizabeth awoke in a strange room to the sound of a violin. Whatever she had been sleeping on felt wonderfully comfortable and Elizabeth didn't care if she was being rude ; she wasn't getting up. With a lazy smile plastered on her face, Elizabeth settled back into the bed and closed her eyes only to have them flutter back open when she felt the presence of another body over hers. It was the same man who had taken her from Maurice. Maurice. What had happened to Maurice!?

Elizabeth tried to sit up and get away from the man but he calmly pushed her back onto the bed. Elizabeth had fully intended on struggling and breaking away from him so she could run out and scream Maurice's name but the stranger's eyes stared down at her with paralyzing intensity. She lay helplessly beneath him while he flipped her over and began massaging her shoulders.

"You aren't even going to bite me first? No sexual encouragement or threatenings?" Elizabeth asked.

"Nope. I'm just going to pamper you to death," he teased.

Elizabeth didn't argue with him. His hands felt like heaven the way the kneaded out every knot with amazing ease. Soon, he pulled her up and motioned for her to remove her dress.

"I can't continue until you take it off. You won't get the full intended effect we both hoped for,"

Elizabeth gave him a cautious look before slipping out of her dress. She felt thankful she had decided wear her sports bra that day; it was like a teeny, second shirt. Placing the dress aside carefully, Elizabeth leaned into the man's hands as the began kneading at her muscles again. Finally he stopped and leaned his body against hers, placing his cold hands atop of hers and sighing.

"You haven't asked for my name. Not once have you."

Elizabeth shook her head. She was curious what his name was but never really cared much for people's names. They weren't that important to her.

"My name's Ewan. What's your name?"

"Elizabeth,"

Elizabeth leaned against Ewan, turning around and looking up at him with charming eyes as she once did to Maurice. Now that she thought about it, the two of them had to know each other. Elizabeth sat up at looked at Ewan, running a hand through his dark hair.

"You and Maurice know each other, right?" She asked slowly.

Ewan looked at her and scoffed but didn't answer. Elizabeth didn't press the matter and went to retrieve her dress but was pulled back. Ewan roughly through her onto the bed and stared into her eyes intently. He smiled down at her before bending down at breathing on her neck. His breath was far hotter than his body was as it passed over Elizabeth's goose bumped skin. She shivered before covering her neck and smiling up at him.

Ewan nipped at Elizabeth's knuckles and tickled her sides until she couldn't laugh anymore. When she was finally catching her breath, Ewan pressed his lips against hers in a passionate kiss before leaving her dazed on the bed. He left the room, leaving Elizabeth alone in bliss, purring unusually as she put her dress back on.
-----------------------

Ewan didn't return until hours later. Elizabeth was still in the bed where he'd left her, fast asleep under the sheets. Her dress and boots were thrown on the floor and Ewan bent down to put them up neatly. He then removed his shirt and carefully crawled into the bed with Elizabeth, huddling up to her and cradling her in his arms. Ewan thought about how Elizabeth mentioned Maurice earlier. Maybe he should bring Maurice to the castle for a little visit with Elizabeth sometime. I mean, why would she want to leave him for Maurice? Why would anyone want to leave him?

Chapter 6 - Everyone Looks so Lonely.

Ewan had spent a majority of the night pampering Elizabeth, whispering to her and massaging her shoulders constantly. Eventually Elizabeth did get up and put her dress on, pushing away from Ewan to go outside for some "fresh air". She looked out at the sea that surrounded this stronghold and panicked. Where exactly was she? She hadn't thought about it earlier but she did know that she never saw a castle when she looked out at the sea at the beach back home. Sensing Elizabeth's unease, Ewan crept up behind her and wrapped his arms around her. Elizabeth jumped and struggled but Ewan held her still until she calmed down.

Ewan planted a kiss on her cheek before spanking her into the room again. Instead of leading her to the bed that sat in the middle of what was supposedly the main room, Ewan opened a door that had blended in with the castle wall. He led her down a narrow hall before they came to a large and breath-taking room. The furniture and bed had red velvet on them and there were lit candles all over the shelves. Elizabeth stared in disbelief at it all before Ewan stepped out in front of her. He kicked off his boots and crawled onto the bed, looking back at Elizabeth and motioning for her to follow him. As she crawled onto the bed Ewan scooted back to make room. The first thing Elizabeth did was remove her dress as she knew she was going to have to sooner or later.

Ewan was staring at her so intensely that Elizabeth tried to avoid his eyes. She looked down at the bed while fiddling with the bottoms of her pants. Soon, Ewan scooted forward and cupped Elizabeth face in his hands. He initiated a passionate kiss before pulling away and pushing Elizabeth hair behind her shoulders.

"I'm going to teach you how to feed properly. You need to pay close attention and maintain self-control,"

Elizabeth nodded and smiled half-heartedly at Ewan. She was a bit uneasy about all of this as it finally started to process in her mind. She was finally going to learn how to feed properly and be fed off of in return. Ewan smiled back at her before scooting closer to her so that she was seated in his lap.

"Whenever you're out to kill someone, you just do it. Bite them, drink, and be done with. If you're looking for some fun, then you take your time. Maybe even lick 'em a little if they're used to being marked."

Elizabeth listened intently while Ewan gently nipped at her neck and collarbone.

"But whatever you do, do not drink them dry. Only in certain occasions can you do that." Ewan informed her and Elizabeth caught his sly grin from the corner of her eye. "What you really want to do is make yourself stop drinking because if you drink the last drop, you will be sucked in and you will die."

Elizabeth nodded and let out a yelp as she was thrown down on the bed and was pinned beneath Ewan's body. He lunged for her neck but stopped short, licking at the small teeth prints on her neck. He placed a hand on her shoulder and pushed her back down onto the bed as she tried to roll him over and bite him. He could tell Elizabeth was heavily deprived of blood and suddenly found the answer as to why she was at the alley club.

Eventually, Ewan let Elizabeth roll him over and she immediately bit into his neck. Ewan let out a loud moan before throwing his head back and smiling. Elizabeth withdrew and looked down at Ewan who was gasping for air. His muscles relaxed and he looked up at Elizabeth with glazed eyes.

"Lizabelle, how I love you." He chuckled.

Elizabeth didn't like that. Being called 'Lizabelle'. It sounded nice to her but she still didn't know who Lizabelle was. Not wanting any distractions, Ewan sat up and kissed her again, licking at the blood around her mouth. With a sly grin he sat back on the bed and stretched his neck out in invitation. Accepting his invitation with unmatched eagerness, Elizabeth sunk her teeth back into his neck.

Immediately Ewan was transported to a new world. His muscles contracted so much that his body arched off the bed and his hands gripped the bedsheets below them. He let out another moan before flipping Elizabeth over and looking down at her with lust in his eyes.

"Now it's your turn, dear Lizabelle." Ewan whispered before lowering himself and biting viciously into Elizabeth's neck.

Chapter 7 - Angel Dust.

Elizabeth's eyes shot open and immediately narrowed and glazed over as she grasped the back of Ewan's head. The sensation was amazing as Ewan drank from her neck and Elizabeth let out a laugh. Finally, Ewan pulled away and licked gently at some leaking blood. Ewan released Elizabeth's arms and rolled onto the bed next to her.

"That was better than sex," he gasped with a playful laugh.

Elizabeth smile and sat up removing her socks and throwing them onto the floor. She slipped off of the bed and tried to stumbled out of the room. It had become unbearably hot and Elizabeth felt like she might faint. Curious, Ewan rolled off the bed and followed after her. He was alarmed when Elizabeth's dead-weight body fell against his without warning and he had to carry her into the next room.

He noticed that her forehead was unusually hot and she was sweating when it was so cool in the room. He took her outside and held Elizabeth's body in his arms, stroking her hair and wondering what had gone wrong.
--------------------------------------------------------------

Ewan had stayed by Elizabeth for hours and hours, blowing on her face and letting the breeze cool her down. Eventually, Elizabeth did wake up and immediately huddled up in Ewan's arms. With a smile, Ewan hugged Elizabeth closer to him and leaned down to whisper in her ear.

"Lizabelle, I was so worried about you. You're okay, right?"

Elizabeth nodded but kept her head down, seeking comfort in Ewan. Ewan carried Elizabeth back into the castle but didn't take her into his velvet room. Instead, he set her down in a chair and went to retrieve her things by himself. He paid special attention to the temperature of the room but it was cool like the rest of the castle. Maybe it was just him or maybe something was wrong. .

Returning the Elizabeth, Ewan stopped in his tracks and stared at the sight before him. The very person he didn't want to see.

Maurice stood there like he owned the place, helping innocently oblivious Elizabeth into one of Ewan's dress shirts. He looked over at Ewan and smiled slyly, rubbing Elizabeth's shoulders and kissing her on the cheek. Elizabeth also looked over and smiled before padding over to Ewan and taking her things into her arms, nuzzling her face in his chest.

"She really is a keeper, isn't she?" Maurice asked casually. It was disgusting.

Ewan nodded stiffly and grabbed Elizabeth, pulling her into his arms and into a deep kiss. And out of the corner of his eye, Ewan made sure Maurice was watching them. And he was. He stared at Ewan with a level gaze and didn't flinch in the least. He remained as such when Ewan pulled away, looking soulfully into Elizabeth's eyes as she let himself be carried away by the promised heaven behind every kiss.

"Lizabelle. Could you go in the other room for a moment?"

Elizabeth nodded and obediently walked out of the room. But what she wasn't aware of was that when she walked out of that room that all boundaries, rules, and respect walked away with her.

"How dare you come into my castle and touch her! How dare you, Maurice!?"

"How dare I? How dare I?" Maurice laughed in return. "How dare you for seducing her the way you did! Putting her under your horrible spell!! You're only going to use her and drink her blood until one deadly drop is left! You don't give a damn about her!"

Ewan glared menacingly at Maurice before growling and pacing back and forth a few times. He turned back to Maurice and pointed an accusing finger in his face.

"You don't know s**t about me, Maurice. Do you understand?! You don't know anything about who and what I give a damn about. And if I choose to give a damn about a virginal girl then so be it but don't you ever question how I feel about her. She is the most sure thing in my life and nobody and no thing could ever change that!"

"Funny," Maurice replied, his eyes watering as he nodded his head almost deliriously. "Funny how that's what you said to me so many nights ago."

Maurice turned and left Ewan's castle, leaving Ewan fuming with anger. Grabbing hold of a nearby table Ewan calmed himself down. He couldn't let Elizabeth know about anything that had just happened. The entire fight never happened and no thought of it ever entered his mind. He couldn't let her go again.

Chapter 8 - Where You End.

The night had gone on in a quiet manner. Ewan sat in solitude, thinking about countless things while Elizabeth prepared for bed. She didn't ask what he gone on in the room while she was gone and by the way Ewan looked, it probably wasn't a good idea either. He looked exhausted and very troubled. Elizabeth didn't speak but embraced Ewan before returning to the bed and falling asleep.
------------------------------------------------

Ewan didn't notice how quiet it had been until the sound of waves broke down the walls of his mind. He looked up and over to Elizabeth who was sleeping soundly with the morning light on her face. Smiling, Ewan tip-toed over to Elizabeth's side. He watched her sleep for a few moments before carefully crawling onto the bed next to her. The dipping of the bed made Elizabeth crack open one eye and look at what was happening around her. She smiled lazily before a gentle kiss was planted on her lips.

Ewan didn't say anything to her. He only smiled as he crawled under the sheets with Elizabeth and pulled her close to him. Elizabeth rested her head on Ewan's chest and ran her fingers over his bare skin, enjoying how smooth it was. She ran her hand up and down his rib before Ewan's own hand intertwined with hers, bringing her hand up to his mouth. Ewan handled her hand like it was a rare piece of fragile porcelain; he handled each finger with extreme care as he placed small kisses on each one.

Elizabeth giggled and leaned up to kiss Ewan on the lips. She caressed his hair lovingly while planting kisses all over his neck and chest. The two of them exchanged kisses while rolling amongst the sheets they were tangled in, completely oblivious to how much time they were wasting. This must've been the happiest either of them had ever been in their entire lives.

"Lizabelle, I have someplace I want to take you." Ewan whispered as they lay together on the crumpled sheets.

"Anywhere. Should I get ready?"

"Not yet. It doesn't open until night. Just be a little patient,"

Elizabeth huddled into Ewan's arms and looked up at him with deep, green eyes. Ewan looked down at her and stared awkwardly. He didn't remember her eyes being green. . .In fact, he doesn't remember ever paying special attention to Elizabeth's eyes. It was amazing how life works; unless they have some special meaning to you, you don't notice a single thing about them.

Ewan kissed Elizabeth on the forehead and smiled down at her, his sharp teeth showing. To Elizabeth's surprise, his teeth intimidated her tremendously. She suddenly felt so frightened she began shaking a bit, which in turn worried Ewan. He frowned as he pulled her closer and shushed her small whimpers.

For the first time in her entire life, Elizabeth felt ashamed and utterly frightened of who she was.
----------------------------------------------------

The day passed on smoothly. Ewan eventually got Elizabeth to calm down and they both got out of bed. Ewan and Elizabeth spent a few evening hours on the beach together. Elizabeth said she had wanted to see the sun set over the ocean and Ewan didn't argue with her. They sat together on the sand and watched as the sun turned the sky orange and pin and then blue as it fell down passed the horizon. Elizabeth seemed hypnotized by the sunset and Ewan thought about bringing her here to see it more often.

"Hey, Lizabelle. I've got some place I want to show you." Ewan whispered.

He stood up, pulling Elizabeth with him and smiled reassuringly. He pulled her close to him and put his arm around her shoulder. Ewan bent down to whispering something in Elizabeth's ear before lifting the both of them into the air. In the blink of an eye, they were in the same alley Ewan first saw Elizabeth.

Elizabeth stared in disbelief at the door leading into the club. She hadn't thought about this place for days. Why did Ewan bring her here? Elizabeth found herself being pushed forward and shoved through the door where countless eyes burrowed into her. She was soon joined by Ewan again and he led her into a back room that was near the entry door.

The room was dark and relatively empty save for a bed, a table, and a few chairs. The room was dimly lit by a ceiling light and Elizabeth kept her eyes on the ground to make sure she wouldn't trip over anything. Before she knew it, Elizabeth was pushed forward and onto the bed before her. Ewan soon laid down beside her, twirling strands of her hair in his fingers as he planted kisses on her neck. Ewan used his unoccupied hand to turn Elizabeth's face towards his own so that all his kisses were gently placed upon her lips.

Elizabeth adored all the attention he paid to her. It reminded her a lot of someone else who always worried about her, but she couldn't remember his name. He had to be someone important but who was he?

Chapter 9 - One Thousand Tips.

Elizabeth awoke with a heavy chest and stinging eyes. She saw a faint trail of red begin to grow darker as it swam out in front of her eyes. Elizabeth's eyes snapped open as she found she couldn't move her arms or her legs even though they weren't bound to anything. Opening her mouth to scream, no sound came out as tangy water rushed in and slid down her throat.

Elizabeth's eyes eventually slid shut as she gave up the fight and could feel her body falling into the blue-shaded darkness below her when a sudden strong hand reached out and grabbed her arm. It pulled her above the water and against a warm body while she coughed and shivered.

"Elizabeth! Elizabeth. .can you hear me? Elizabeth?" A distant, familiar voice could be heard but Elizabeth couldn't go back. She'd already given up and didn't have a second chance. She whispered a few unheard words before letting the throes of Death cover her in a cold blanket.
-------------

Ewan sat back, relaxing in his chair as he smiled to himself. His eyes closed and his fingers threaded through his hair. Ewan's pale skin looked golden in the light of the countless candles he lit around his room and he sat comfortably in his black shirt and pants.

"Mourning never felt so good," he chuckled, running a finger over his chin.

Ewan's smile quickly faded as a dull thump sounded in his room and then he vision went black. Throughout the four connected rooms of his castle reverberated a loud crack! and the thud of a body hitting the floor.

Maurice, in all of his rage, stood over Ewan's helpless dead and frowned in disgust. He took several of Ewan's candle and dropped them on Ewan's body while taking several more and stabbing the blunt edges of the candle's legs into his sides. With most of his strength, Maurice ripped the legs down Ewan's sides and watched the pools of blood flow freely out of the manifested wound.

With a remorseful sigh, Ewan left the room and returned with a limp body in his arms. He gently lay Elizabeth's body next to Ewan's and watched as she caught on fire, as well. Giving her one last glance, Maurice quickly left before the fire spread too much but not before letting out a choked sob for the loss of a young girl.
--------

Maurice continued his life in glum, never socializing and drinking constantly to drown his never-ending sorrow. He grieved for hundreds of years over Elizabeth and often thought he'd never get over it. He smiled sadly when he'd paint pictures of Elizabeth, alone on the beach, and he'd cry when he thought he could hear Elizabeth's voice calling his name again.
