Ok, since the first dubbed episode was released last night, I recorded it and today showed it to my mom. She was reluctlant, she doesn't like the way Raito thinks he is going to try and become God of our world. Well, she watched it and got really into it, she said she'd watch the rest of the series with me. Next is dad.

Also, I noticed something when I watched the first episode yesterday. When Raito first tests out the death note and he kills that guy who has those kids and teacher hostage, when it shows the reporter talking at one point, it shows a sign behind him and I swear it shows Kon from Bleach on that sign, unless it's a really messed up sunflower. Then when Raito kills that biker dude, when he picks up that magazine to read, it shows a second magazine behind it and I believe it said Bleach. So am I just seeing things, or have others noticed this?

haha.... i showed my mum the first episode of death note the other day!
She said it's twisted, I at this point hadn't got a clue what she was talking about. How on earth is it twisted?
But although she said that she also said that she liked it, and when i asked who her favourite character was she said light. I asked why and all she said was he has nice hair and gets good grades.
I was like waaaa? What on earth has that got to do with his character, except I will admit he does look good razz .
I havent shown my dad yet so I am curious to know what he will say, hopefully he won't be as small minded as my mother lol.

Parents are such strange creatures don't you think? XD

I talk about Death Note a lot, but my parents just kind of ignore it. sweatdrop I'm like "blablabla Death Note," and they're all "Oh, cool." My friend (the one whose mom thought yaoi was.. hot) and I were talking about MelloMatt, and my mom thought it was one person... x___o My mom knows who Matt is though, 'cuz I'm dressing up as him for a school thingie tomorrow.

My mum is like R4!NB0W's. I'll be jabbering on about Death Note and she just kind of phases it out. xD She probably knows what it's about from me talking about it and the fact that she bought me all the mangas for my birthday ( at my request ) but I don't really know what she thinks of it. If anything she's probably concerned that I'll start writing names in my own death note and being emo. ._.; That was sort of her first reaction to 'And he finds this notebook where if you write someone's name with their face in mind they'll DIE.' She thinks all anime is either gore or porn anyway, so. xD

She also doesn't understand that fictional/animated characters can be hot. :/ I mentioned something like that and she just scoffed and was like 'What? Drawings aren't hot.' ):

gonk I missed the first episode of DN. My mom usually likes the anime I'm into so I've no worries trying to get her to watch it with me this upcoming weekend.

I finally got my Dad to watch it. I knew he'd love it. It's his official favorite anime, after watching it he started going on about wanting to buy a Death Note and how it was awesome, these are his exact words 'Awesome how he fu**ing kills everyone! I wanna do that to! He was being serious to.....great....he's a fan-boy....I also talked him into cosplaying L for an upcoming covention.....

I live with my Aunt and Uncle...

they have digital cable so I recorded the 1 episode..

My Aunt watched it and she though I was crazy..since Raito killed like..alot of people she said something about "evil" xd

she told me to erased it..so I did..I don't care what she said..but can't argue back since I live there.. sweatdrop

my mom on the other hand doesn't care...she even has my Yuna (FINAL FANTASY X-2) Figure on her work desk! whee

but I really feel bad for those whose parents are not open-minded... sad

my mom hates it. she started in on what was wrong with kids today and its blasphemy. somehow that led to the music i listen to and the way i talk in that "devil" language.(Japanese) my mother has definitely got a few screws loose.

You kidding? I'm too self conscious and worried about what my dad would say. Besides, he'll probably include our religion in a lecture in some way. sweatdrop He tends to do that a lot. And my stepmom? AHAHAHA forget it.

hmm. my parents do that to. well realy just my mom my dad doesnt care. what religion are you?

I have to say I honestly thought my mom would despise Death Note, because of the whole Raito wanting to be God, because my family is Christian, but we're not hardcore Christians. Mom thought it was very interesting and liked it.....believe me both my Dad and I were like..... eek Who are you and what did you do to Mom?!

Then Dad he's actually making me get him a Death Note replica book....great....he'll probably write our neighbor's names in it....lol....he'd had that book full in less then an hour....but my Dad's opinion is like Raito's murderers, rapists, should all be put to Death, though there is a different how they think, but I knew it'd be his genre.

I tried getting into the anime, but never really enjoyed it. I love the manga ten thousand times more. But anyway, I told my mom about the plot and she stared at me like I was crazy. When I got half way through telling her what had happened in the manga she's like 'You shouldn't be reading such violent comics." But I finally got to the end of it and told her what it shows about power and what connection it has with the real world, and she's just like 'whatever, I really don't care, so long as you aren't folowing in the manga's footsteps," type thing. So anyway, I'm pretty much the only person in myfamily who enjoys any form of anime/ manga.

My dad came in while my boyfriend and I were watching the infamous potato chip scene in English (for the lolz, of course), and he though it was hilarious.

Just the other day he took a potato chip.... and ATE IT. domokun
