Sendiri was the literal image of a Tokora gone crazy with his antics. He'd left Aiden during his nap to go exploring on his own, and with no one around, his crazy and laughable antics hit an all-time high. He was leaping from branch to branch, catching himself with his tail and front paws whenever he could, and just making a general fool of himself.

Big shocker there.

What he hadn't counted on, though, was an audience, and so he bounced from branch to branch, pulling off acrobatics that he'd long since learned (and injured himself from, to be honest.) as a young Tokora. Was he afraid? Pffff. Sendiri knew no such word as 'afraid' or 'fear'.

Ratanjali was transfixed. No other word would adequately describe that expression. She'd been out for a stroll, minding her own business and planning no mischief. (Not at present, at any rate...)

Then she spotted the bouncing male and, well. She had to stop and sit and watch. Grimacing, occasionally. Gasping and clapping a paw over her eyes when she was sure he'd slip and ping off the branch below. When he caught himself, she exhaled out loud and clapped. "You made it! Good job!"

When someone had outright exclaimed that he made it, and good job, he almost slipped from the branch he caught himself on when he spun around to see who had been watching him. Sendiri caught himself again, and blinked when he saw a vibrant-red tokora applauding him. Then, of course, he grinned.

"Well I am very good at this sort of thing." No ego on this one, no sir! Sendiri grinned, and leapt down to a lower branch, then another, until he could safely drop down on the ground in front of her. "But I'm always glad to please an audience." He bowed dramatically, then grinned, sitting down.

"I'm Sendiri." His eyes twinkled with an innate mischief.

She tracked him with her gaze, her own eyes crinkling up a little in amusement. When he'd landed and bowed, she stood to make a makeshift sort of curtsey in return. It involved crossing her hind legs and it was a wonder she didn't lose her balance.

Instead she sat and grinned at him. "Pretty good, anyway," she agreed. "It wasn't really slipping after all, was it? It was flying. Sort of. With no wings. Nice to meet you, Sendiri. I'm Ratanjali."

His ears perked at the way she described it, and he grinned even wider, if possible, bobbing his head in agreement. "That's exactly what it is. Flying without wings. ... And the constant, y'know, knowledge that you could die at any second if you slip. But mostly the flying bit!" Sendiri lit up at her.

"It's very nice to meet you, Ratanjali." He nodded in a serious, sage-like manner which was more dramatic than it needed to be. Then he grinned. "So how much of the show did you act, Ratanjali?" He asked, eyebrows wagging mischievously. Because he'd be more than glad to do a repeat performance, don'chaknow.

She couldn't help but laugh, shaking her head. "And what's life without the sense that it might be over at any moment? Besides, there's always the possibility of a last minute save. A lucky branch you didn't know was there to break the fall." She nodded solemnly too. Mostly solemnly. All right, the sparkle in her eyes ruined it, but she nodded all the same.

"Well." She looked up, considering the trees. "I saw you jump from that one to that one," she pointed out. "But if you jumped that gap," that was at least a stretched out body length and a half across "I missed it."

Yep, that was a dare.

Sendiri's own eyes twinkled as she spoke, and he laughed, nodding. "Of course, of course." He mused, eyes gleaming. Then he blinked, and looked at the gap she'd mentioned. He snorted a little. "Oh, I could make that..." He thought he could, anyway. And that's what counted! He grinned at her. "Wanna see me do it?" Oh yes, he totally would.

Was he trying to impress her? Only a little. Most of it was just his total lack of common sense.

"I don't know." She cocked her head like she was thinking about it. She was really watching him from the corner of her eye. "You think you can? I mean, I wouldn't want you to miss."

Teasing. Pushing, just a little bit.

"Oh, sure I could!" He nodded quickly, and then grinned, starting to climb up to the branch he could leap from to the next one. "Don't worry, I won't fall!" He hoped not, anyway... that'd be embarrassing.

"Don't blink!" He warned, scurrying up to the branch and crouching down on it in preparation to leap. He glanced down at Ratanjali, and grinned slowly at her, then waved with one hand. "Watch!" And then... he leapt off of the branch, and cleared to the other, stretching his entire body out to grab onto the branch.

And he just barely made it, grabbing the branch with both paws and scrambling to pull himself up. Woah that was close! But... he did it. He pulled himself up, then turned to face her, grinning wide. "Ta-da!"

She'd half expected him to refuse. That was a big gap, after all, and if he really had missed, it'd be a bad fall at best. So she grinned while he climbed, and she waved back when he did.

But when he actually jumped, she held her breath and squeezed her eyes shut a little, just in case.

"You made it!" She hopped to her feet, excited. Relieved. And giving too much away. She made herself calm down. "I mean, that was pretty good. Good job."

Sendiri's entire face lit up at her excited exclamation, and he grinned, climbing down quickly and jumping so he'd land in front of her again. "I told you I could." He said, grinning at her and sitting down sheepishly.

"Thanks." He nodded to her, grinning. "Takes lots of work to learn how to do it." He admitted, nodding sagely. "I'm gonna teach my little brother how when he gets older." Ah, Aiden. Maybe it'd get him to be more social. He shook his head to get out of paternal-brother mode, and grinned at her.

Ratanjali plopped back down, too. "You should try that out over the water some time," she offered cheerfully. "It makes the biggest splash when you dive in from way up high. And if you swim once you're under, sometimes you can almost touch the bottom."

Well. She'd gotten close a time or two.

"How little's little?" She glanced up at the gap he'd leaped. "That's a big jump, I mean."

"Well he's not little little... He's a cub still, but he's growin'." Sendiri nodded sagely, then snorted a little. "Of course, I'm gonna start him on small things, like..." He looked up at the trees, and pointed at a fairly short gap. "Like that. And I'm gonna teach him how to swing around on his tail." He nodded to her, grinning.

"Gotta start out small and work your way up to big, you know?" Sen grinned. "I'd never start him on something like that big one, I almost didn't clear it." He snorted sheepishly. "And Aiden's a tiny little thing, who knows if he'll clear something like that." Le siiiigh.

"Well, at least you're not going to just put him on a branch and wait for him to fall off. I've met some who would," she told him seriously, "and I've got to say, I don't think it's the best way to learn."

Huh. That was pretty profound. She looked surprised at herself.

He cringed, and his ears flattened down against his head. Immediately, he felt protective of the unnamed cubs that would be forced to sit on a branch and fall off until they learned. "I'd never do that." He shook his head slowly. "Not to any cub, least of all my own." Slip of the tongue, but would she really notice?

His ears lifted up to life again after his protective impulse passed, and he tilted his head, grinning a little. "So you're into the whole family thing?" Most girls were, but you never know.
