So, guys, I was bored...So I was a good discussion with good solid evidence.
AxI and AxS are like..the two most overly popular pairings I think..
((Apart from PxS, the 100% canon, and...AAxA...the yaoi fangirl attacks... O_o )
So yeah.
I'd just like people from both sides of the 'debate' to post their evidence to support each pairing.
Personally, I'm an AxI shipper, I view Alucards relationship with Seras to be purely platonic...
but I'm always open to others opinions on the matter.
And, I don't really mind if it gets off topic...if we go off onto other Hellsing ships, thats fine. (Ehh...and there's no limit to what characters you want together...seriously....Infact, give me some interesting parings I've never thought of. 3nodding
And please. Lets be nice...
NO character bashing. As in no "Integra's a b*tch" and "Seras is a slut", like I hear so often in some forums...
(So many rabid AxI supporters think Seras is pointless, and the AxS supporters seem to think Integra's the icy head b***h, sadly. ;-; )
Please. Lets be nice. Integra and Seras are both wonderful.
(P.S. I know these sort of threads are really over posted...but I'd REALLY like to have a good debate about it such things, like I said, I'm BOOORRRREEEEDDD ^_^ )

anyone with eyes and a gender can see the tension written in between alucard and integra, but then again, i've read too many of hirano's other comics to know he can't keep his mind completely out of the gutter while writing HS, so of course there's gonna be a smirk here and a freudian roll of a cigar there.
it would never happen in twelve flaming hells, but the fantards can dream, hmm?
and ander-alu is based on the whole concept of "oh come ON! just throw them into a closet and make them get it on before they explode and bring on armageddon!" view of hate/love relationships. it's like the squall/seifer and cloud/sephiroth thing in FF, but i don't remember any oth THEM referring to the dude they're trying to kill as their "Beloved enemy" like alu does.
(Well, okay seph gets weird and slashy at times, but it's squeenix, squeenix PUTS thinly-veiled yaoi in their games, and especailly ff7. i mean, just play it and talk to the npc's, or visit don corneo's, or the "group room" at the honeybee inn, it's full of far-from-subtle gay jokes. and don't get me started on what they did in KH2...)
personally, i think alucard is secretly looking for a threesom with some sort of dominatrix kick, but then again, he IS supposed to be a depraved son of hell and so forth, soooo.... *shrugs*
and seras is not a slut, she's just.... er, "slow", and dosen't realize that large-chested virgins in miniskirts with oversized guns sadly exist only for the fanboys (and some girls).
now pip and seras MIGHT have happened, if given more time and enough encouragement, and possibly a good bit of booze, but did not. none of them will ever pan out in canon, which is why the 'shippers' exist, to pretend that they can, and that anderson would uke for a vampire. .... stare

O_o to quote a cosplay skit i once saw "well, that never stopped a catholic priest before wink " and yeaaaah, alu's choice of outfits during his moments of "liberation" seems a little, erm,.... yeaaaah. stare pfft, arthur was always drunk, but that's not the worst i've seen. i've seen girlycard/dawn-walter "i'll prove to you i'm not really a little girl, now bend over!" yaoi fiction with poor captain forced to watch. and worse. i have a friend who sends me links to crack pairings she finds randomly. rip/zorin, alu/luke, Doc/Hojo from ff7 (SCARY!!!), schro/captain (cats and dogs. the author actually called the fic cats and dogs. X_X ) and then there was doc/hojo/muraki.. and a box o'scalpels burning_eyes fic that i actually printed out, set fire to, and took a picture of meself burning it, then sent the pic to the friend who sent me the link, and told her never to do such evil things to me again, or else. unfortunately, i do happen to like the whole "virgin queen" kinda thing that what alu wants, he can't get, and if he tried integra would put a bullet in his head... possibly several, followed up by a sword through the heart and a boot to the head for good measure once he was down. (and he'd prolly happily let her do all that to him) after which, of course, alucard would just get up chuckling, dust himself off, and try again later. it seems to be the way of mankind. what we want most is that which we cannot attain, and if we somehow manage to attain it, then we are unsatisfied, and start to seek the next unattainable thing. alu wanted power in his live days, and once he had it, he's bored with it like a kid with a toy, so he looks for the next real challenge: integra. meh, another half-asleep ramble. confused

Myself, I have never really been into the whole shipping thing. The only pair that I have ever shipped was Aubrey/Maturin from the Master and Commander series, and even then it was just a little thing, nothing obsessive. Drew a few tasteful pics, but nothing more. Then again, I was never into obsessing over real-life relationships either, as so many are. None of that "Do you like him or do you like like him?" crap. As for Hellsing, I fully suscribe to the notion as Integra as the Virgin Queen, married to England. Alucard can go shag a shrub for all I care.

Ohhhh boy. neutral I will say something about Alucard and Luke though...anyone at Hellsing who heard all of Lukes screaming in the cellar...might have gotten the wrong impression.... O_o You know, I think Alu's just happy with any attention he gets from Integra. I think that delusional mind of his thinks that if she so much as yells at him then he's getting closer. xD

The relationship between Seras and Pip is canon, making a relationship between Seras and anyone else (especially Alucard) an impossibility, regardless of any fan's wishful thinking. Although the relationship between Seras and Alucard is, in the mangaka's words, "too complex to describe," it is not in any way romantic. The relationship between Alucard and Integra, on the other hand, has been called, in the mangaka's words, "twisted love". Their romance is subtle, but almost canon.
In any case, Seras was chosen by Alucard to replace him, not to be his bride.

*gigglesnort* Just think of me as the resident pervert who can ship anything. At the same time, I'm not too enthusiastic about any of them, so in some senses I guess I'm a purist...Let's put it this way -- I ship everything and nothing. u.u
Also -- to all AxI shippers who want to use the fact that it's what Hirano said -- you must remember that in fanfiction and the like it is customary to wolf whistle at the canon, follow it around until it goes anywhere near a dark alley, rape it inside said dark alley, then beat it beyond all recognition until it wishes for death, and then institutionalize it so that it cannot harm itself. 3nodding

joe-pitt AxS always struck me as more of a brother-sister thing or maybe a twisted father daughter dynamic. *shrugs* but thats just me. domokun Yeah, well, when I first got into Hellsing I used to think of it as Seras had abit of a...erm...'crush' or something for Alucard. ... and that Alucard, on the otherhand, just thought of Seras like a daughter... But I began to rethink it as being brother/sister... The way Seras tags after him seems like hero worship, in some ways...I think it seems more like an older sibling thing. They don't argue with eachother the way a father/daughter or teacher/student would either, they argue like siblings. And even though Alucard is WAY up above Seras, or thinks he is, there seems to be an even ground between them. I think its really a sibling relationship.

UKEcard falling into anderson's arms with all the flowing eyelash-batting "i just wanna be wuved"-ness only a mary-sue's yaoi wet dreams can accomplish, or the ever popular "let's put integra in a dress and make her maxwell's housewife!" kind of crap. it's so much fun to find ones so horrible they should not exist, it's like watching MST3K almost if you make up your own heckling of said horrible fanfic. and if i kept all of my own rabid storyline ideas locked up in my head, my brain would explode. Don't worry, i fanfic my own novels sometimes too, because occasionally ya just get an idea so wacky it can't be canon, but it's too good not to write down. (blowing up a dragon with a barrel of gasoline disguised as a giant hot-dog. 3nodding fun times. whee ) i seldom actually share them with the world at large though, most are crap, and i'm really only writing them for my own "what if...?" type amusement anyway.

I agree, there are some idea's so priceless you can't let them slip away... yeah, i'm TRYING to write a mostly-serious one right now, but one of the main chars keeps ending up randomly sprouting cat ears for comedic effect and being an idiot on occasion because his familiar is a 2000-year-old cat's soul, so occasionally i get some weird ideas that don't work for the book, but are cool nonetheless. And then one day i went "dude, iscariot would be so pissed if my dude ever showed up on their doorstep, and thus were written a couple really weird crossovers, during one of which i stare *coughs* jokingly paired off my own char with heinkel because it was funny at the time to see heinkel being stalked and pseudo-molested, and anderson reacting to the "great secret" that vampires were created by fairies, heinkel was the long-lost love-child of david bowie and twiggy, and that the pope's hat is actually a mind control device with a midget alien living inside it. (not really, but the character is a storyteller, and likes to screw with people's heads. ^_^ ) oh, and i have been reminded that i DO unofficcially ship AxI, as i've willingly done several artworks of them for people, and ander/alu, and i pretty much don't mind any pairing but enrico and anderson. it's just gross. dunno why, it just is. xp and i agree with the "master's pet" view of seras and alu, he's kind of keeping her as a sidekick or pet, someone to talk to and try to share his world with, but there's no romantic attraction there. (also, since she's shared his blood, it'd kinda be like vampire incest in my opinion confused )
