Okay, so tonight, I went out to give Penny her grain and hay and check her water like I do every night, and to my surprise, she was heaving rather loudly and coughing to boot. I am worried. She was REALLY heavily breathing in and she was coughing while eating. I locked her in, in case it was something she ate in her field, but if not, well, I want her in easy distance of the house so I can check on her. Anyways, I need your help! From your experience, what would you assume this as? crying

From your experience, what would you assume this as? crying Penny has heaves, doesn't she? It's probably worse to put her in her stall, as any ammonia and other fumes can't be helping with her lungs. It's best to put her out in the field with fresher air.

Yes, she does. I put her back out, and she seemed better this morning. (I let her out around 7:30 and I had put her in at 6:30. She seems better this morning, so I guess it was the oh so sudden summer weather.

That was UNCALLED for, Brat.
I haven't had the time to ride Penny lately, and since she has bucked me, I have yet to canter her. Savanna cantered her a few times to teach her that she can't buck with a rider.
It's been a good...3 no..It's been a good month since I rode Penny last. It was on the day it went unseasonably warm and she just heaved. It was sad.
