ThX all...actually I stopped the convo about that a while back. Didn't want things to get too heated and was afraid it was going there. I've noticed some things from that experience though. The ppl in that guild I have talked to are under the impression that the Bible has been written and re written loads of times by man. Sadly this is why the ppl in that guild wouldn't listen to what I had to say...
I know what you mean by that. a friend of mine is convinced that the parts in the bible stating that homosexuality is wrong were all added in by a pope. and therefore she believes it's ok to be bi.
Yuh...But how do U witness ppl like that? I mean If the Bible has all the answers. Then there's gotta be one in there that addresses that issue. But then how is the person ever gonna believe that the part about that wasn't just written in?
In order to witness to people like that you need to show it in your lifestyle. even if one isn't perfect, we all have our issues, we can still try to live a godly lifestyle and keep trying. it's their choice if they don't listen. we can't go around whcking 'em in the head with bibles. the most we can do is try and pray for them.
It is true that we need to show our witness and leave the results in God's capable hands. However, we must also remember the parable of sewing the seeds:
some seeds fall on fertile ground (people willing to listen and accept the gospel), some fall on thorny ground (people who initially accept the gospel, but then turn away from it), and some fall on hard ground where they cannot take root (people whose hearts are hardened and are unwilling to listen to or accept the gospel). Indeed God can and does work miracles in people's lives, but He has provided us with free will and unfortunately sometimes people decide that they just don't want to have anything to do with God or His gift of grace. The best we can do is love and encourage them through our livestyle witness.
