Have the morons pissed you off lately?
Hell yes. Someone kill them, please. *emails a request to Kira*
Nope, I'm having a good week. Maybe it's Dumbledore's protective charms!

So I'm sure you all know that Dumbledore was gay by know, and I, personally, think it's cool that Dumbledore has a love story (even if it's a tragic one).

But it PISSES ME OFF that so many people at my school are freaking out about it. In a bad way. People have issuses accepting that ANYONE can be gay, because not all homosexuals are obviously homosexual. A ton of homophobes at my school are making me want to kill something. Do they have any idea that they're insulting some of my friends when they makes bigoted cracks against gays? The people right next to them that they don't know are gay? My color guard coach? Some of my favorite authors, musicians, and heros? I just can't take it. I swear to God if someone makes one more crack about DD molesting Harry I'm going to start a fight. Being gay is different than being a phedopile, assholes!

Dammit, I know exactly how you feel. The same thing's been happening at my school. Every time someone freaks out about it, I'm just like, "I think it's great. It makes perfect sense. Shut up."
But two of my guy friends (one of which is gay, mind you) was making jokes about Harry and Dumbledore too. For some reason, it was a lot more annoying when the straight one was doing it, because he's an a*****e. It wasn't really that infuriating when the gay one was making those jokes, since you sort of have some sort of unspoken ability to make fun of yourself/people like you..?

That took me ages to word in a slightly coherent manner. D:

What can I say? People are ignorant.
Unfortunely, my Dad's a homophobe which makes me wonder what if he found this out. He'll hate Harry Potter even more than he already does. =

It's just knid of wierd that I'm even getting so angry all the time noe. I used to be oblivious of all of this stuff and if someone said/did something stupid I just brushed it off as one person being stupid, but now I'm seeing so much moronic s**t out there I just keep getting more and more ticked off. And it takes a lot to get me ticked off.

Yeah, people do have the right to make fun of themselves, but it still makes me uncomfortable when they do. Even if they're just joking, joking about things like stereotypes just isn't funny for me, because it reminds me of how ******** up the world is.

Woe to the man who is different
who tries to break down all the barriers

I still don't get how the heck that gay=*****. How does being sexually attracted to people of your same gender equate to being a sexual assaulter of little kids? I mean, straight people could be *****, too. I mean, couldn't have Dumbledore just had a mentor-student relationship with Harry? By the logic of the jokes about Dumbledore with Harry, in that case it would've been repeated with probably many other students at Hogwarts, because he's gay you know. [/sarcasm] rolleyes

The ignorance and close-mindedness of some human beings perturbs me sometimes. And then people wonder why bad things happen to people all the time-in some sense, we are doing it to ourselves (there are some exceptions of course, that are unavoidable). They're not used to it and even though it's already existed for many years, homosexuality has just recently taken center stage in matters such as culture and politics. They are probably leery of the unknown, so to make the unknown more bearable, they make jokes about it. I think it also has to do with society...I bet if the majority of people were homosexual and it was the straight people who were in the position of homosexuals today, people would be making jokes about them and using "straight" as slang for "stupid" or something.

Not to mention that one of my younger cousins means "gay"=liking boys and "lesbian"=liking girls. So she was talking about something related to that to me one time, and basically she thinks-if a girl likes a boy, then then the girl is gay; if a guy likes a girl, then the guy is a lesbian. Which makes me go WTF(not out loud in front of her, mind you), trying to tell her that it's wrong and she says it's because she saw it on the Internet. Consequentially, I was being sarcastic and saying, "Oh, so you saw it on the Internet so then it must be true. If the Internet said the sky was green, would you believe it?" And then she says, "No, because you can prove it with science, lol." Oh, so the study of why people are the way they are isn't science now and can be something that can be proved on the Internet?
And what pisses me off is that she actually trusts that information more than she trusts mine. Makes me want to wring the necks of people who actually write those misconceptions. :/

Me and my mom heard this in the news the other day.

Honestly, we didn't give it a second thought.

The only reason I gave it much thought is because I'm a huge Dumbledore fan and still feel that mega-fan urge to know everything about the HP universe. I love Dumbledore so much, he's one of the most kick-a** old men ever to appear in literature. So I was going through my books looking at all the DumbledorexGrindelwald hints I may have missed and thinking, "That makes so much sense now!" And I like Dumbledore even better now because now I understand why he didn't stand up to Grindelwald earlier. Poor dude.
