Charries: Halen and Raveo Wyrms: Ealir'faryn and Thrynor Quote: Stuck On You
*Note, this quest must be undertaken by two roleplayers together and done in RP format in order to be completed.*
**Note, this is a universal quest (available to all)**
"And until you learn to work together, stuck together, you'll be! Now, get off my daisies before I turn /you/ into a daisy! Or better yet, a pair of pansies. That'll teach you!"
All right, so crossing that nasty old lady wasn't the best idea you've ever had. You'd been minding your own business and walking down the road when another of your own kind had startled you. Somehow, nasty comments turned to blows until the two of you were fighting like.... well, cat and dog, is probably the most accurate term. Somewhere in the middle of the fight, an old lady had turned up, and it turns out that the old lady was a mage. She'd gotten so sick of you bickering and trampling her patch of flowers that she'd set cuffs on the two of you, effectively cuffing one of your limbs to one of your opponents, and on a very short chain.
After a long lecture about the merits of getting along, the old lady told the two of you to beat it. One problem: you're still cuffed together. The snarky old mage informed the two of you that you're not getting apart until you learn to get along, and then she vanished, leaving the two of you outside beneath a gathering storm. To make things worse, you've heard that there's a rogue wyrm in the area, one with a very nasty attitude and a taste for blood. You're supposed to deal with storm and wyrm.... while cuffed to an idiot.
How the hell are you going to manage this?

"Of all the useless, insufferable morons to get stuck with, it just had to be you! Why the hell couldn't you have minded your own business and-"
//You know, Raveomine, angering her while the two of you are chained together isn't a very good idea.// Thrynor's mental voice powered through Raveo's thoughts, effectively halting the fuming male in mid-sentence. A safe distance away and happily devouring a nice juicy fish, the hybrid wyrm had, thankfully, missed the fiasco, simply having to listen to Raveo's whining and fuming for the past ten minutes. It seemed that the bat therian now understood that he was chained to the person he hated most, and there was no way to get her off of him.
Okay, she is not /on/ me! Raveo shot back at his wyrm, glowering down at Halen, his right hand cuffed to her left with about an inch of chain separating the two cuffs. It appeared the mage really had hated them. He was careful to not move toward the patch of daisies again. Who knew what else the snarky old witch had up her sleeve! She is simply attached to me!
When his wyrm companion, at least a mile or two off, simply gave a mental snort instead of a verbal response, Raveo growled aloud, looking more than a little irritated. This sucked, to be quite honest. It sucked mightily.

"Minded my own business? I made no physical contact until you pushed me. This is all your fault." When he didn't bother to finish his sentence, she felt no reason not to continue her own arguemnets. Of all things!
Maybe you should try playing nice, Halen. Though Ealir'faryn's message was meant in all seriousness, Halen detected the hidden laughter, which made her utter a growl.
You think this is hilarious. The accusation only allowed Ealir to laugh over their link without feeling guiltily about the situation. Shut up.
Miss Irate, of course I think this is hilarious. Unless he maims you or worse, this could be a good thing. Optimism had been sneaking into Ealir's tone as of late. When Halen responded with something harsh and unneeded, the fire wyrm's mood fell. The human could feel the hurt across their bond, but she was in no real mood to aplogize.
"What now, batboy?"

"You were within my personal space! You had to be removed from it immediately!" Raveo growled in response, trying to fold his arms over his chest in anger and failing miserably, mostly because her arm was not a natural extension of his. Drat. This was going to be a long, long afternoon.
What were they going to do now? His anger was momentarily put aside as he tried to figure out their next step. "Well, first we have to get into shelter and get near our bondeds, because that storm looks ugly." The therian glanced up at the darkening sky, hissing quietly. Lightning was bad. It singed wings, even batwings. "And then I'm going to try to get these blasted things off before one of us kills the other. Come on. They're this way," he said, moving in one direction without a backward glance, ignoring the painful digging-in of the cuff on his right wrist.
//Ealir, do you think they're going to survive this?// Thrynor inquired privately of the other wyrm, a bit concerned about their bondeds' safety.

Halen bit down on her tongue as Raveo tried to cross his arms, holding back a slight whimper. That had hurt. If the cuffs weren't so tight, then maybe it wouldn't be so bad, but, alas, what can one do?
Until Raveo mentioned it, Halen hadn't noticed the storm. She looked it over, blinking as the sky began to grow dark. There were trees, and, truth be told, without much a chance of being struck by lightning, Halen like the rain and thunder. Thinking about the effects of the storm, she didn't hear Raveo's words, earning her a nice jerk when they started walking. She stumbled to regain her balance, but didn't comment, merely glaring at his back while she walked.
I have faith that they'll be fine, Thry. They're adults, hopefully they can act as such.

Raveo was jerked back by Halen's stumble, growling angrily at the sharp pain in his wrist. Gods be damned, but this was miserable! And they hadn't even been chained for more than a few minutes. Gods. Gods.... Gods!
//Mine is more than a little agitated. I fear for them.// Thrynor returned, nibbling on his fish.
Glancing back over his shoulder, Raveo picked up on the glare. "What?! It's not like I /asked/ to be stuck to you! I'd rather be stuck to about anyone but you." He thought for a moment, still heading in the general direction of Thrynor. "Well... except perhaps a demon. It wouldn't be much worse, but it would be."

If we go and meet them, then they have less time alone, less time to hurt each other. Ealir pointed out, though she made no real movement towards the presence of Halen. What her bonded had said had hurt her, and she was rather cross about it.
"I'm flattered that you consider me better than a demon." Halen grumbled, still glaring, though cooperating. If hindering the process of freedom would have meant less pain for her, she might have been more stubborn, but she wanted to get out of this thing without a scar on her wrist, at the very least.

//True.// Thrynor gave pause to ponder moving toward the humanoids, and then he shook his head. //Neh. They'll deal, I guess. And I'm eating...// Besides, Raveo had a sense of self-control. He likely would not kill her without good reason... hopefully.
Raveo glared back at her. "Slightly better. You don't have claws." His tone turned almost petulant and whiny as he felt a drop of rain land on his nose. The gods hated him today, apparently, and he could almost hear the cranky mage's snicker in the back of his memory. This was so unfair. "You got any bright ideas to get us out of here? I don't want to get wet," he grumped.

Can't interupt food. Ealir chuckled, stretching while gently prodding Halen's mind. When a snap was her return, the fire wyrm snorted, shaking her head. So mean, she commented to really no one, her tiny wings batting quietly at the air.
"I have nails. Not as much damage, but they can leave a reminder." The first drop of rain caused her to look skyward, the tiniest smile flitting to her face for a brief moment before disappearing. "Not in particular," she answered without much thought. "Then again, I'm not the one bothered by the rain."

//Never. Food is too important. Hungry?// Thrynor inquired politely. //There's plenty here... wait, who's mean?// He flicked his wings, ruffling up his colorful feathers and assuming an air of insult. He wasn't mean! Mean was Raveo; Thrynor was not mean, by any definition.
Was he?
Letting out a savage growl, Raveo came to a halt, glaring down at her. "Can you at least pretend to be helpful?! I'm getting wet," he said, looking more than a little peeved by the coming drops of rain, which were already getting his clothing mildly damp.

Ealir watched Thrynor fluff up with an amused look on her face. Trotting over to him, she nosed at his feathers, slightly shaking her head. Not you, Thry. Halen. She's being very uncooperative in the effort of a mutual peace between us.
Halen halted a few steps after he did, gracing him with a sideways glance and a raised eyebrow. "Helpful? Oh, you're head must be a bit scrambled from the old lady. My name is Halen. Clicking anything yet?"

Thrynor's puffed demeanor diminished almost instantly, and he nuzzled her affectionately. //Oh. I see. Well, if it's any consolation, Raveomine is being similarly difficult. Humanoids are quite the challenging lot, aren't they?//
There was no other way to interpret Raveo's facial expression as one other than a hefty scowl, which flicked to an almost childish pout as the drizzle turned to a downpour. This situation had just gone from bad to worse to terrible. He glared at her and tugged lightly on her hand via the cuff. "Yeah, well, I figured since you're stuck with me, you'd be desparately figuring out how to get away from me. You could try."

Ealir rumbled quietly, laughter in her voice. They are! It's almost silly. She nuzzled back, adoring the affection.
"Well, we need to get someplace dry first, I suppose." Halen mused, trying not to allow herself to laugh at the combination of rain and the look on Raveo's face. "We are the bondeds of two fire wyrms, why not get them to burn it off?" She glanced about, searching for a cave or hollow tree in which to seek shelter.

//It's beyond silly! Iti's mildly ridiculous. ...All right, it's very ridiculous! Honestly... aren't they adults by their species' standards?// Thrynor mused, curling his neck about hers. He crooned softly, flicking his feathered wings. Gods, it was good to have her close by.
Raveo gave his head a doglike shake, his long hair spraying water droplets everywhere in addition to the downpour. This was getting them nowhere. He sensed, rather than saw, her amusement with his hatred of being soaked, and he growled softly. The dire situation overrode his hatred of her, however, so he glanced about as well, searching for something to hide in. "Yes, well, we have to /find/ them. There has to be some shelter somewhere in the trees. Come on, then!" He moved off at as brisk a pace as he could muster, his long legs attempting to eat up the distance between them and the relative shelter of the trees up ahead, despite the handcuffs.

They are. But, at least around one another, they behave as children. That is what is silly. As Thrynor curled about her, she sank into a state of sheer joy. Thrumming quietly, she nuzzled at him. Deep within her, Alirae stirred, sending a single angry jolt at Ealir, which failed its mission, trapped in the thick emotion Thrynor induced with his mere presence.
The water Raveo flung about didn't matter along with the rain. She ignored his growl, muscles in her legs tensing. When he started running for shelter, she'd be ready. Her arm was not going to end up sore because the therian didn't like the rain. At his final words, she started jogging to keep up with him, silently wondering at the sky above.
