Just to see where all of us regulars overlap in this area, I thought we'd narrow down our favorite anime/mangas to a Top 5 list.
Here's mine:

1. Trigun
2. Ranma 1/2

1. Tied between Death Note and Trigun sweatdrop
2. Wolf's Rain
3. Tied between Full Metal Alchemist and Cowboy Bebop again
4. Bleach
5. Naruto

Trust me, the FMA manga is leagues above better than the anime.

FMA manga and anime are entirely different canons that stem from the same beginnings. Though the manag pre-dates the anime by 2 years. So in this case one is just written at a higher quality and vastly better.

Trigun. The manga is WAY worse than the anime. It's almost unreadable.

Plus the flow and the artwork of the manga is just.... bad. I was reading it and at first I thought I was just crying at how bad it was, but then I realized that my eyes were bleeding.

Er... "Last Exile" is a good non-mainstream anime. But as for manga, I can't really help you. Perhaps Ranma 1/2 or Maison Ikkoku? They're popular in Japan, but not in the States.

Top 5? Hmmm...

5. Zelda Manga: It's cool, it has some nice stuff around it. I like the ones after Majora's Mask? It's cool, it's refreshing. Yea I know, I have only a couple of issues..so yea.

4. Ghost in the Shell 1st gig: Amazing, amazing, amazing s**t. Definitely one of my favorites. It's sooo damn good, in depth, seductive, fun, amazing writing and s**t.

3. Yu Gi Oh: Ah, my guilty pleasure when I first saw on it in English. I thought, "This is ******** hilarious." The Manga has none of the BS as the actual Anime so it's nice. The Abridged series? ******** hilarious and genius. Who knew a children card game could go so damn far.

2. Dragon Ball Z: In Spanish it's so weird...It Japanese it's odd. In English it's ******** awesome. The opening song issss made of win. Dude the Guitar solo is cool. The action takes ******** forever though ugh. Lame but hey...It's still cool when the yellow hair..goes up right? D: Right?

And my number one is a shocker.

*1. Batman/Superman (The Animated Series): As I grew up these two cartoon shows pwn mostly everything on the Kids WB lineup. It was so well written that it had so much backstory. I don't know which comic it was ..coincide though. There are too many of Superman and Batman comics. So yea. x.x; Anyways yea these cartoons are so damn good, I bought..the case. >>; So yea that's my top 5. Western Anime anyone? =o

My real number 1 is Mobile Suit Gundam: I loved it when I first saw it and still do. Dude Giant Robots beating the s**t out each other? Word up yo.
