I believe that people spend too much time designing monsters and things. I'm going to dedicate this thread to botanical creations I can think of. I like the idea of an encounter where the challenge is the environment itself. Suggestions welcome. Although you might think that using the Monster stat-block to describe them is foolish, there are things like the Asassin Vine out there.

The Loolikah tree is considered by many to be a myth, the mystical tree that renders mages useless with strange and un-natural things growing around it. Whether or not it is real, rumours of it abound.

This tall tree has a thick, bulbous base and it's smooth trunk and the ground around it is covered with strange looking mushrooms and other fungus'. The leaves seem to be tinted with a strange bluish colour.

The Loolikah tree is an inherently magical plant. It uses the magical energy created when mages casts spells for it's own good and have been known to grab magic items and drain them dry. It is considered unwise to attack one, as it is usually accompanied by guards of it's own making.

Magical Plant Type: This comprises of irregular plants, such as those found on different planes or magicall created. Magical Plants, unlike regular Plants, can have Wisdom and Charisma scores, although few possess the ability to communicate, they all have at least rudimentary intelligence, and unlike Plants, are treated as Creatures, not Objects.

Loolikah Tree's always are surrounded by mushroom-like fungi that it has created to store the magic energy it has garnered.

Combat

A Loolikah tree never engages in combat in order to damage an opponent, instead ordering its self created Loolikah Spawn in order to defend itself if attacked. The Looliah tree will always however, use it's Magic Drain ability to drain any spells cast in its range, and ones that are especially hungry will grab handy magic items with their Improved Disarm ability or pin adventurers to the ground with their Improved Grapple to attempt to pry hard to reach magic items out. if they can and attempt to drain them of their magical energy. They prefer to use their Magic Drain ability to drain spells cast within range, as they can often escape detection this way.

No more time left to work on this now, I'll finish it tomorrow.
