It was one of those cool autumn days in a local park that was cast in golden and crimson hues by the turning leaves. The grass a green counter point to the carpet of leaves that have fallen. This serene, portraitesque scenery however is ruined rather quickly.
Halcyon falls on his rump and rolls backwards into a tree with a thump, followed by laughter from himself and Cordain. Both were wearing more normal clothing for a father and sun playing in a park. For such a strange pair, playing catch with a frisbee seems quite abnormal.

Ah, the park. Not the most popular of Reign's hangouts anymore, but the mall could get old after a while. The young woman was sitting in a tree, its leaves falling in waves whenever she moved. Sighing, the chimp girl glanced about the park. The cooler weather was driving more people indoors with only a few kids running around.
Suddenly there was a thump at the base of the tree. Reign peered down to see an odd boy laughing along with a man nearby. A plastic frisbee lay on the ground a short distance away.

Halcyon dusts himself off as he stands up, "You used a string and you know it!" he shouts towards the dark elf before looking up at the chimp girl. Prismatic eyes examining Reign for a bit before he moves off to grab the frisbee. The reaction on his face was as if seeing a chimp girl was an everyday occurrence to him.
Cordain catches Halcyon's gaze and glances up at Reign in the tree, "Yes there was a string, that still shouldn't have stopped you from getting the Frisbee Hal." he speaks, his eyes however are on Reign, a soft lavender color, contrasting with the midnight skin.

Reign blinked at the two. "A string doesn't make it very fair..." She observed to the pair of men, dropping to a lower branch to eye the two. "That's a mean trick."

Cordain taps the string and the frisbee returns to his hand quickly, "Who said everything in life is fair hmm?" he gave a wicked grin to her. Halcyon looked up at Reign as well, "If life was fair as my father said, my girlfriend Isdra wouldn't be going through what she is and feeling like she needs to do it all on her own. Nor is a fight fair, or catching a falling object that can't be afforded to land on a hard surface."
Cordain twirls the frisbee on a finger, "This is reflex training again."

Reign just shrugged. "Whatever. I still say it's mean." She glanced over at the man. "Reflex training?" She shrugged. "Throw a dagger at him. That'll make him move fast."

"Well, throw a dulled one then..." The woman rolled her eyes and climbed down (in a rather unladylike fashion) to an even lower branch near Hal. She quickly fixed her skirt and then hung upside down by her tail, her skirt held up by her feet so that it wouldn't expose anything.
Her face was now near to that of Hal's. "He doesn't look like he'd cut easily, anyways." She'd sensed for a while that he was a scroll child as well. She now pointed at the crystals on his body. "That's got to be pretty handy..." Reign commented to the boy.

Halcyon smirked lightly, "I'm fragile in different ways than a human and I'm training in a fashion that is similar to how certain sects of assassins trained." he rubbed an eyebrow ridge of crystal and as he pulled his hand away it had spiked out before settling back in.
Cordain gave a grin as the frisbee came back around towards Hal who ducked the frisbee as it made a long arc back to Cordain's hand, "Besides it's important for him to be able to react to unexpected shifts in movement."

Reign twisted her boy to glance at Cordain. "Why?" She'd had an urge to reach out and touch the crystals, but the man had distracted her with the frisbee. The chimp girl twisted back to look at the boy again.

Cordain smirks slightly, "Let's just say that...unexpected issues show up in our line of work...The hotel industry can be quite dangerous you know, especially when you're competing with the other major hotels world wide."
Hal glances at Cordain and begins laughing a bit, "Very dangerous." he caught Reign's look and gave her a grin, "I don't think Isdra'll flip out if I'm letting someone sate their curiosity over the crystals. Go ahead and touch them."

"Hotel business.... dangerous?" The woman was confused for some time, but Halycon's comment completely threw her for a loop. "Isdra? You know her?" Well, it did make sense that he would know some of the other scroll children, but she hadn't seen Isdra for some time now. Not since that trip to the mall some time back.
Reign reached upwards and grabbed the branch, flipping herself over before landing beside the teenage boy. "So what was your scroll?" She asked as she gently touched one of the crystals. Amazing, his was obviously something crystalline, but what exactly? Then again, hers had simply been a monkey, so...

"Crystal, or so my father tells me. I was too eager to escape it though and got out when I came in touch with a paperweight of quartz." He watched Reign for a bit, "Yes I know Isdra...it'd be weird for me to have a girlfriend and not know her after all."
Cordain was smirking over his son's snide, snarky remarks. He trained his child well.

Reign nodded as Hal explained about his scroll. "I'm a monkey or something like that. Hence the fur and tail..." She waved the flexible apendage for a moment. "Strange how it affects us...."
She shot the boy a doubletake at his comment about Isdra though. "Girlfriend?!" After a moment, she shrugged. "I haven't seen her in a while... we used to have classes together, too..." Maybe she should get a boyfriend... she was old enough, after all...

Halcyon nods his head to Reign, "Yes, Girlfriend...and you haven't seen Isdra...hmm...Well I guess I'll just have to keep a look out for her." he ducks down as the frisbee whisks over his head again.
Cordain chuckles lightly as he brings the frisbee on back to him.
