Ok, So I love decora but the only thing is my school is kind of strict. We can have skirts the go above our knees even if it has leggings under it and we can't draw a lot of attention to our selves. So is there anyways I can still pull off decora without breaking school rules? I can wear bright colors I just can over load it I guess I could say. Also I can do almost anything with my hair except dye it totally a crazy color only like highlights and stuff. My hair is thick, dark brown and wavy it is about to my shoulders. So please if you have any ideas of how I can pull off decora without getting in trouble at school and something new to do to my hair. heart

I was a vegetarian for 8 years.....I don't eat red meat or pork now....(not for 10 years....) but I eats chicken now....
as for the real delimma.....the decora. I wear a lot of arm warmers and layers of socks....I typically wear dark colors for my main actual skirts/dress/shirt/pants...and that is mainly cause I'm fat.....but people do double and triple takes on my arms and feet....and hair clippys are easy to get away with....as long as they are holding your hair back...

Aww! I have the same problem, you know boys wearing skirts in school and what not. Honestly I don't even have a solution for you. I just live in detention crying But I feel your pain!

the most i can say, having been thrown in detetion for just such a thing, not decora though, but heavy goth stuff. best you can do is jsut tone down the amount of trinkets you use.
For instance, if your hair is as long as you say it is. jsut use a few hair clips for putting your hair back or up. leave it at that
Clothing, i can't really suggest anything, because i don't know your wardrobe. but i can tell you this..........sorry lost my train of thought......oh yeah...don't, i repeat do not wear clothing that has loads of things hanging it off it. That'll deffinatly get you into trouble.
Also what the hell kinda of school do you go to that surpresses your freedom of speech?

Oh wow. I'll start off by saying that your school sounds like a total bummer to be at especially if you're Decora. I think I'd go insane if my school was like that because I think I'm possibly one of the most unique people at my school and even if people call me names, it's the double take people do that makes me happy. I must be good enough to look at twice. lol Anyway, my school is pretty much free with letting students do whatever, except midriffs and heavy chains. I actually got in trouble for wearing chains and too low cut of a shirt, but that's beside the point. I wear Decora to school, so I don't exactly feel your pain. I even wear cat ears on normal non holiday days. My one teacher actually looks forward to see what I wear and she was disappointed today when I didn't have my ears on. hehe.
Anyway...onto the advice. ^^ For you, I'd try to wear rich, dark colors, like rust colors and dark violet and gold. Due to the fact that your school doesn't allow skirts above the knee, layer skirts. Wear two or three skirts for a petticoat look and that way it will make the skirt look longer if you have different length skirts to wear. As for bracelets and necklaces and accessories, I'd try and wear the darker, non attention attracting colors for them aswell and also try traditional jewelry like gold or silver so the school doesn't suspect anything out of the normal. You should be able to get away with wearing a lot of plain jwewelry, creating a layered look. Onto the backpacks and purses. ^^ If you have a traditional backback, try getting a shoulder or strap on bag with a cute print and using that instead. This will make you be able to wear a cute bag and purses for a school use.

man what kind of school is that? not able to have self expression? creul. don't draw attation to yourself? well if i went there i'd get expelled in 5 secs just my behaviour draws attention to myslef lol
maybe you could wear some cute patterned pants if you could find any (they don't really make many) maybe a t-shirt with a cute character and one or two necklaces and a few braclets, wish i could see your closet im an expert at technically breaking the dress code but not getting in trouble cause i know how to cover it up

You could get yourself some nice haircut with bangs and maybe highlights.
You could try mixing a bright colour with white or black..
My school isn't as strict as yours.. They are strict, but not about clothes..

My school is VERY VERY strict,
since we wear uniform,They won't let us wear Socks layering over other socks >3<.Cause once I was wearing pink socks over Black socks D: .And wore Harajuku shoes.

Yeah my school's so so strict as we have a uniform. Seriously we can't wear anything in our hair other than plain black headbands or any jewllary what so ever (other than studs but w/e) and we can't wear socks or badges or anything. I have no way to express my style without getting in trouble. crying

I have a solution for you, at my school, guys wear kilts sometimes, and it's really cool. I'm in the US so things r a bit more accepted sometimes,a nd the guys wear them when their friends do, so go in packs. Kilts r kewl!!! So, wear some, it's a 'manly' skirt, LOL.
