They were finally old enough to open their eyes, walk around a bit, begin to understand things around them. The proud mother was more than ready to take them outside and let them experience the world for the first time, just as she'd done for Udha and Zira, Tui, Kweu, Ayato, and Tete once before. The sun was just peeking over the horizon when Tai woke within the dark shadows of the communal den. She glanced over the sleeping bundles at her side, a mix of grays and soft browns, and smiled proudly.
One day Matifu would return, and he'd have five new faces to get familiar with. Tai eagerly awaited that day, but until then she had much to teach the youngsters, and much to do today before she needed to give the rest of the cubs their story.
One by one she leaned in, nosing one of the little ones, licking the top of their head, murmuring for them all to hear. "Alright... time to get up sleepy heads."

One of them stirred.
The small chocolate female stretched as she felt something moving against her forehead, then the sound of her mother. She'd gotten used to that sound. "Huh? " She mewed slightly, ears perking and eyes opening sleepily. "But moom. 'm slee..ee.. okay. 'm up. " She was, technically. But she wobbled slightly, her paws at first unsteady with sleep, until her eyes opened for real, peering up at her mom.
"Hi mom, " She swished her tail, smiling, but was interrupted by a yawn. "Whats up? "

Siagi lay curled in the middle of his siblings. The sleepy head and likely been the first asleep, hence his position somewhat near the center. And though he wasn't a deep sleeper, he didn't move much at his mother's command to wake. Instead he burried his face deeper under one blonde toed paw, keeping his eyes shut. He didn't want to wake up. But when did he ever? He was such a sleepy head.

A silver boy woke with a yawn, blue eyes opened to see the world with wonder. Small paws stretched in the warmth of the morning, streaked tail flicking as he bounced to his paws, perhaps more enthusiastically than his siblings. It was at last time to see the world beyond the den, to explore all that lay before him.
Not that there weren't interesting things to explore in the den as well, like his siblings for instance. Turning to Siagi, his lifted a paw to poke at his brother.
"Hey, how come you're still asleep? It's time to get up, you sleep too much."

The striped female of the litter moaned a little, one paw coming up to bat her mother away with a small growl, as a turquoise eye blinked open sleepily. The second eye soon opened, a large yawn stretching her jaw before Azriell clambered, a little clumsily, to her feet, watching her paws, making sure they were all steady before she glanced up at her mother, head cocked to the left a little, as if waiting for an explanation as to why she'd been woken.
"...I was sleeping." came the rather blunt statement, the small female feeling she had to get a few words in, instead of standing there silently and looking like an idiot.

Sleepy eyes opened slowly, mourning the warmth that was escaping now that his siblings had gotten up. And he had had such a wonderfull dream. Oh well...
Reaching his white paws out as far as he could, Nyeupe stretched his back, his tail swishing slightly before sitting down. Looking around the den sleepily he realized just how early it was. "Mmmm, it's too early mom..."
Usually an early bird, this was even a bit early for his taste.

"I know loves, but don't you want to see what the outside of the den looks like? Come on, you each need to have your baths before we go outside."
Not waiting, she reached out for the first bundle that here jaws could close around, bringing them to plop between her paws before she started cleansing their fur with careful, rough strokes of her tongue. She groomed loose fur away, brushing the rest back down into place afterwards.

Well, no objection to a bath.
She liked her fur nice and tidy, not necessarily perfect, but she didn't like looking badly groomed, and rather enjoyed it when her fur was neat. Especially when she was finally going out of the den. It was to no surprise Kwasi didn't complain when picked up, and contently moved to sit back where she was when her mom was finished, flicking her tail slightly. "We're finally going outside? "

"Mom," Siagi groaned when it was his turn, obviously not agreeing with the bath idea. His complaint was vocal, despite his groggy awareness, but was little more then that. He might protest something, but it was usually only with is tongue. And maybe a sulky little frown, that at his age was just an adorable pout. Add his usual cowlick and bright blue eyes and you had a sight that was usually rather adorable. Which never helped his cause, because who would think about his complaints seriously when he looked like that, all tussled? It was a good thing his whines were typical and without any strong emotional tie.

Her turn brought a rumbling purr up Azriell'Kyupe's throat, the small female cub happily allowing herself to be bathed, loving the feeling of her mother's tongue running over her body. So soothing. She began to wriggle a little when her tummy was cleaned, just a little ticklish, though soon bounded back over beside her only sister as the question was asked, a delighted expression lighting up the small lioness' face.
"Oh, do we!? Do we do we do we mom!?"

He tried to get out of the bath by belly crawling behind one of his siblings, but soon enough jaws closed gently in a scruff hold and lifted him in between his mothers paws. "Awww, come on mom...."
He endured though, making a face all the time. Going out almost wasn't worth this, but deep down he was really excited.
The moment she let go of him he jumped away, shaking vigirously. "Yuck....."
