I have read it probably about 5 times, which is rare for me to read a book over and over again so quickly usually I wait for a few years so I can forget what happens and enjoy it thourgholy again.

its kind of hard to explain...its about a boy whos mother is forced to temporarally send him to an orphanage but then things go wrong and he is forced to go to more and its really about how he grew up for about 5 years in different orphanages and his struggle to keep his chin up and fit in...its sad and good all at the same time, its based on a true story.

I love books like that! Were it seems like that should be the end of the book with a big ol' cliff hanger and then it goes on for about three more times like that?
Love it. x3

It's a very sad book, and one that teaches us a lot about cruelty to others and learning to love and accept one another.
As a true story, it is incredibly hard to get through without crying. It's amazing what he went through. I highly doubt most of us could endure the humiliation that he suffered. Likewise, listening to the author speak is just as hard. He came to speak at my school when I was in seventh grade. He was so powerful in his words and what he said really got to you. No one moved, no one spoke and the only sound you could hear were people choking back tears. If you ever get a chance to listen to him speak, do it. It's life changing.
And he brings Doggy with him everywhere n_n
Brilliant.
