A soft, cool breeze blew by, bringing the tell-tale sign that winter was indeed on it's way. It was the middle of the autumn season, when the leaves of the foilage started turning into hues of golden and crimson. As the cooling breezes passed by, they would fall to the ground where they would soon be smothered by the ominous snow. And the whole cycle would repeat over again.
In a spacious forest where the Spring incarnate was known to dwell, was the wyrm himself, standing beside a small steam. His spring green eyes stared at the reflections in the glossy surface in a spaced out lost-in-thought sort of way, though he would never get close enough to actually see himself in it's smooth surface. The leaves had refused to fall in the small area around him, instead the small area was covered with bright green grass that mimicked his eye color.

Crimson, gold leaves fell as though the air was on fire yet a freezing breeze gusted through letting fly those leaves that still desperately clung to the trees. Winter was coming… and soon. The snows would soon fall she could feel it. The winter’s chill she felt within. Cold was something that had always affected her more as she was a fire wyrm.
Deep-sea blue eyes gazed about the landscape, as it became more barren making way for winter. Larricka shivered the gold and red flames on her back were not near their normal height. They flickered pathetically as she tried making them grow. Her flames reached their peak only when she was angry. Larricka was hardly ever angry and so it was always harder for her to keep her body warm during the colder seasons. She needed to find a hot spring or something before she froze.
Stretching her frigid legs she ran moving faster it warmed her up just a bit more. Sudden warmth… something that wasn’t supposed to be there the green grass and green leaves. It seemed like spring in the middle of the autumn. Jaro.
Larricka remembered meeting her friend around here many times before. The fire wyrm glanced around looking for the brown and green spring incarnate.
“Jaro?” she called looking around.

A voice soon brought him out of his lost-in-thought state, light green eyes dashing around. That voice... Could it really be Larricka? As soon as her voice hit his hearing, a warmth surged through him. Strange... As he moved away from his spot by the stream and towards the direction of her voice, the warmth seemed to be lost once again. "Larricka?"

Larricka shivered again and her gold and red flames grew higher from her back, some warmth returned to her body as the spring wyrm came closer. It must be the fact he had springs warmth Larricka decided. Larricka listened hearing his voice in reply.
"Jaro." she called again slowing her run and walking foreward with a flick of her tail "Over here" She yelled looking around.

Her voice seemed so much closer now. His pace sped up a small bit, claws clicking on the occasional rock he stepped on. Jaro halted as he spotted the gold and red form of the fire wyrm, and he slowly moved toward her. With each step he took, the warmth seemed to swirl within his chest. What on earth was going on?
He chose to ignore the feeling, smiling at his friend. "Larricka, it's so good to see you.."

A smile grew across her mouth, her tail flicked happily. "It's been a while." She walked nearer to her friend "How have you been?" she asked with a smire. Her flames flickered contently.

His stride had slowed to a slow walk, as he made his way over to his friend. "Me? I've been..." Cold, lonely.. "alright." He wanted to say so much, though he also didn't want to worry anyone. Especially her. "What about you?"

Larricka held back another shiver "Fine." she said briskly. It was soo cold, warmer here but still. why was it warmer here? it was partly because of jaro but within her radiated more warmth than normal when she spoke to another. Why? She decided not to ask and keep quiet. Maybe it was just the fact she was strange.
"Nothing intresting has happened lately." she told him.

"Oh..." He said softly, although it sounded more of a sigh in the wind then anything. Jaro stepped closer to his dear friend, hoping that he could give her more warmth by being closer to her, even if that meant the warmth in his chest would flare up again. A distracted look was in his eye again, as he watched Larricka whilst moving closer. "Larricka, my friend... Do you remember a long time ago, back when we first met, when I told you that I was in search of something...?"

It was warmer when Jaro walked closer she wondered why briefly before answering Jaro. Larricka nodded "I do vividly, you told me too it was something you couldn't quite express in words." She “I still said I would help you look even though I knew not what I was looking for.” She smiled

"True," The Spring wyrm inhaled deeply, wondering briefly how he was going to word this. "but I think I may be able to explain it now." Jaro had stopped when he was much closer. Infact, he was sure if he reached out he could brush his nose against hers... Not like he would outright. What if she took it the wrong way? Or, if she had a mate already? The thought made his heart drop, and he instantly dropped the thought in his mind. He sighed softly, what was he getting himself into now... "A long time ago, someone who I thought I could trust dug a hole in my heart. They left me in such a despondent state that I could barely trust anyone..." Jaro paused, shuffling for a moment before continuing. "What I was looking for... was someone to help fill that void. To help me be able to move on, and be happy again." His lime green eyes flickered up to Larricka, awaiting to see her reaction while a small smile flickered on his face.

The flame wyrm stood silent and listened. Something within her skipped; as she held her breath. He was much closer than he had been previously, her heart? She noticed his face was much closer to her own, so close she could feel him breathing, the air was warm of he face... another kind of warmth swelled within her chest... she ignored it. Jaro began to speak again.
Larricka continued to listen, Larricka herself hadn't experienced such a betrayal of her feelings but she hadn't really let anyone too close besides her friend, Jar. But to feel such a feeling would have been horrible... Words probably couldn't even describe it.
Some one to fill his void? A void in ones heart. Larricka smiled softly "Dear friend." she said pausing and looking at Jaro with her kind blue eye. "I would be glad to help you." she added softy gently touching her nose to his. She still wasn't quite sure what her feeling was but it didn't really matter at this time.

As he felt her nose gently brush his, the warmth coursed through him once again. Though, this time he didn't ignore it. His green eyes looked into Larricka's own, admiring the azure color. The green hues couldn't fully show his happiness at the moment, but they came close. A smile had firmly planted itself onto his face, and he reached forward to tenderly nuzzle Larricka. "I'm grateful that you will, my lovely friend."

Larricka smiled in return, he seemed happier than he had been for the longest time. Ever since she had met him he seemed to have been traumatized over something and hadn't truly trusted her. She felt that had started to change. "Tell me about long ago dear friend." she asked. If she was to understand more perhaps it would help to hear it.

The Spring wyrm exhaled softly, inside knowing that sooner or later this matter would've been brought up. True, he would have told Larricka soon. "Alright, then... " The green nostrils flared momentarily, stretching the claw scar across his nose. "Well, quite awhile ago, you see... I was Bonded to a boy named Coalan." Jaro paused as he said the name, green eyes darkening sadly. Breathing in deeply, he resumed his tale. "We were a good team, him and I. We would run simple, neutral missions for people. It was an easy way to get money, so he was always up for it." A nostalgic look had crossed the wyrm's features, as he continued on. "The boy wasn't too bright, but enough to get himself as a Healer's apprentice. Though she could hardly stand him herself." A soft chuckle emerged from the back of his throat, but soon his expression darkened.
"But one time, we got a mission that I had a bad feeling about. It didn't feel right, like we were getting in over our heads." Jaro stared at the ground, almost in a transfixed state as he told his story on. "Well, we did get in way over our heads. We completed our mission, but at a cost. The man had cast some sort of spell on us, and slowly our bond began to sever. Coalan was oblivious to it, but I was aware, and without anything I could do to save it. The boy began to drift more and more apart from me, until we clashed, and it was gone for good." Blinking his green eyes, he was remotely surprised to find moisture had started to collect. Jaro attempted to blink it away, looking at his dear friend. "We seperated from that moment on, and I've not seen any trace of him since."
