The sun's rays beamed down on a rather unusally warm day, making the whole stretch of beach warm. Laid out among the sandy shore was a light pink form of a Zebralope, contently snugged in with the sand. Her ears flickered back and forth with the timing of the crashing waves, light brown eyes half closed in relaxation.

"Sand. What disgusting stuff," growled the golden light wyrm as he trod across the beach's seaweed-filled shore. His sky patterened wings flared to help keep his balence. His golden hooves and horn glinted in the hot sunlight. The surf splashed against his long legs. Vere suddenly saw another dragon. He just kept going. If the new dragon wanted him to stop, it would stop him.

Her ears flickered again, hearing something obstructing the natural flow of the waves. She raised her head slightly, only to be hit with off-casted sand. Slowly, she rose out of her sandy bed, amazed at how much she had been covered by it. Akede shook herself, ridding her fur of the grains. "Is something wrong?" The female asked, head tilted to the side.

Vere skidded to a stop at the sound of the other's voice. He tripped and went flying into the sand. As soon as he hit the sand, a wave crashed over his head. The bitter taste of saltwater filled his mouth. "Where you talking to me?" he growled spitting out the salt and sand he attempted to eat.

Akede stifled her giggles as she watched the other wyrm, wings folding at her sides. "Well," she looked back and forth along the stretch of beach. "I suppose so, considering you were the only one around. Unless you think I was talking to sand?"
The light pink zebralope moved gracefully over to the fallen wyrm, moving her head down near his. "Now, are you alright?"

"Do I look alright?" snorted Vere as he climbed to his hooves. He shook sand and sea from his gold scales. Stomping a hoof, he retreated from the reach of the ocean spray. "I hate this place," he chuckled, "yet I love being here. It's always so warm." Well, he was the wyrm of summer after all, right? "Oh! By the way," he exclaimed with a bow, "I am Vere. Who might you be?" He did have manners after all!

Although she had been admiring the brightness in his gold coloring, Akede gave a meek little grin. "You look alright to me." She gave a small nod, smiling. "My name is Akede."

Vere cocked his head to the side, his bright eyes curious. Why was this female being so nice to him? Females, he had no luck with them. He streached out his wings with a loud popping noise. He felt a bit stiff and sore from running all day and suddenly stopping. "So...," he somewhat sang, "...what are you doing alone in a place like this?"

Akede shrugged at the question, the motion making her wings rustle a bit. She looked out at the sea before answering him. "I like it here. It's quiet and peaceful, a nice get-a-way from a lot of things. Plus," She looked back at Vere, and gave a small grin. "it's always a new experience when I come back. So, what're you doing out here?"

Vere shrugged with an absent minded bob of his horned head. "I was just running. It clears my mind from all the clutter and drama it collects. I'm happiest when I run. I think it's better then flying at times," he explained. He grinned at the female.

Akede gave a smile in return. "I know what you mean. Flying can be calming, also." She stretched out her metallic pink wings as she said this, allowing them to uncramp. "Just to soar away from the ground."

Vere stared at the female with a small smile growing on his face. "Yeah, flying is great. To look at the earth from way up above," he sighed. He streached out his sky patterened wings. Tossing his royal head, his golden fur and horns glinted in the sunlight. His glimmering hooves had sunk into the sand. The ocean surf curled around his scales, just enough to berely kiss his glowing legs. He stared at the female with bright eyes and a kind smile.

Thoughts raced across Akede's mind, thoughts she hadn't felt for a long time. If... ever. Earthen eyes tried their hardest not to stare, forcing herself to look away on several occasions with a shy smile plastered on her face. If she could blush, her whole face would've been flustered.
".. Just breath-taking.." Akede looked back up at the golden being before her, shyly smiling at his radiating presence.

Vere noticed the expression change in the female and shyed away. He was nervous around females. His last couple of encounters didn't go so well. He flapped his wings slightly out of nerves. His golden scales shaded into a rose color. He cast his eyes to the sand. "What are you looking at?" he stammered.

Damn, had he caught her staring? Akede swallowed hard, trying to muster up courage. Why was she feeling so weak all of a sudden? Was the male somehow doing this to her? She offered a weak smile, obviously not used to this sort of thing.
"Y--You're pretty." The zebralope managed to finally say, her smile becoming a little more confident. The compliment sounded odd to her, for being the daughter of a vanity wyrm... She didn't find exceptional beauty very often.
