For my Software assessment i have to design an informative website and teaching tool for fellow software students. The actual content of the webpage shouldn't be too hard, but I've never used dreamweaver before or designed a proper web page D: So any beginner tutorials to help me out here? Oh i'm also using fireworks for my buttons and whatnot, so if anyone knows anything about that i'm bound to have questions soon.

well, I use Dreamweaver all the time but I'm not sure where to begin, tutorial wise, it just depends on what you want to do.
have you ever made a site before? if so it shouldn't be to hard.
I've used Fireworks before but I'm used to Gimp, allot of stuff can be applied to any graphics program, just a different layout, maybe a few slight differences.
I find Gimp seems easier to use when your working with multiple images, especially if they are going to be used together in some way.
Fireworks seems to have a focus an a single pic and is probly better for more tedious work.
and personally, when I was in HS they had Frontpage, but I hated it so I used Dreamweaver smile of course, most people don't have either and DW is expensive XD
but anyways, just ask me if you need help smile

Ok, well i had a little bit of a mess around with dreamweaver now. I know how to put in pictures and text, but thats as far as my knowledge goes. sweatdrop First off, how do you move, say a picture to where you want it on the screen? I know it sounds nooby but i dont know. I tried putting in an invisible table, but thats not really effective when i want to add more things to the page. Aaaaannnddd.. How do you make links, and custom rollover buttons?
( I have Dreamweaver + Fireworks 8 )

Hehe thats ok. I think i'm starting to sort it out.
Does anyone know what i should put in to format my web page? Like if i had a menu on the left, and the webpage content on the right, what would i use to separate it? Layers, divisions, frames or other? I'm really lost razz

I'm really lost razz frames will work but Iframes are more flexible, you can use css but it's slower because the browser has to load more each time Xd
