Hermes is perhaps best known for stealing the cattle of Apollo as a day-old infant, they paying off the god with his newly invented lyre. His famous wit led him to be known as an orator. Yet as the messenger god he was known for crossing all boundaries – for bringing newly-dead souls to Hades and bringing dreams to the living.

Hermes’ primary symbols are the rooster and the tortoise, but he is most readily recognized today by his winged sandals.

Members of the House of the Sandal tend to be quick-witted, mischievous, and free-spirited.
