6 v6 lvl 50s do they have to be >50 or if they're too high then they go down to 50?

Sorry but I only have six Pokemon I never caught any just the five with my Piplup they all level 100 they are Pikachu, Lopunny, Blaziken, Empoleon, Toxicroak, and Staraptor
