I was just wondering what kind of Dungeons and Dragons (or other roleplaying game) adventures people like best. Quick sit down adventures that take you a night or two? Or sprawling quests that last many months or more taking characters from peasents and squires to epic level.
Personally I prefer shorter campaigns just because, with playing as seldom as I do, I forget too much of what is going on over a long drawn out adventure.

I actually like both. But in the end it depends on my fellow players. I haven't bailed out of a campaign before, but I try to finish some as soon as possible with some people. *shudder*

I like a mix, but lean toward the epic plot, even if my time only allows for the small ones...

The group I am in runs an Epic plot strung together by a series of small mini-ventures.
Current Epic Plot (STill to learn main villian) Last Mini-Plot (Bunch of drunken sailors destroying the peace of a local community.) (Result 2 were accidently killed due to critical hits, 1 put in a coma, and one lost his right (Primary sword arm) because he tried taking a hostage.) It was definitely an intesting game. biggrin

I like a combination of the two. Any good epic adventure needs an occasional side-trip. Accordingly, it's hard to get attached to your character if you play only one-shot games.
