Pay attention!
No, seriously. Pay attention!
These two, simple words, are so important to someone on a Craft path. Oddly, I don't see it braught up much, at least not directly. Unlocking so many mysteries occurs simply by paying attention. Seeking that which hides in plain sight.
Watch dust motes floating in the air near a sunlit window. Really watch them. Look up at the sky. Really look at it. Take it in. Examine the shape of a leaf. It's texture, it's scent. Really experience it. When walking... notice you're walking. Pay attention to it. What does it feel like?
We habituate to so many things, we don't pay attention. We walk through life with so many thoughts spinning around, we don't pay attention. We go through the daily routine, and probably don't even notice how the sun's altitude in the sky is changing with the seasons or that the clouds this morning are heralding rain. To walk an Earth Path, we need to be aware. We need to pay attention, to contemplate that which we tend to take for granted. Seek that which hides in plain sight.
What sorts of things have you learned by paying attention? How has it enriched your practice? Is this even something you've considered before?

Paying attention and looking has allowed me to see that everything is One.
It's very Zen.

i have really done this for a cuple of years now and i found that it really helps me find and see all the good thing in life and show that the a lot of the problem have easy anser if i just take the time to look for them. i started meditating every morning at sunrise and every evening at moon rise watching the rising of each it helps me to focus on the little things and is very claming though i can not always be out side because of the weather i do try and do the meditation outside as much as possible.

"speak ye little and listen much" it is noted in the rede to simply pay attention and it is very zen and very helpful to just sit back and take it all in.

I wonder how many Witches actually abide by the phrase 'speak little, listen much.' I can't say I speak little (at least on webforums). But I do listen. sweatdrop

Starlock I wonder how many Witches actually abide by the phrase 'speak little, listen much.' I can't say I speak little (at least on webforums). But I do listen. sweatdrop I don't think a lot of people in general follow that. I think it's especially amusing when the inexperienced "omg wiccans" come onto webforums (or even in real life) to proclaim that they are Wiccan/witches/whatever. If I remember correctly, "To Keep Silent" is still a part of the Hermetic Quaternary.

yet when you pay attention and through the proper humanitarian way of caring, do your best to help peple. they neglect you, throw you to the side and abuse you. people oday dont foten pay attention and shun those who do. i believe its a sad thing in todays world.
