WildShadow was stalking a vole near the river. He pounced and killed it with a swift bite. He carried it back to the ThunderClan camp and dropped it on the fresh-kill pile. He looked around and saw Vinepaw by the apprentice den. "Vinepaw! Time for training." WildShadow yowled.

Vinepaw immediately sat up and stretched. He slowly walked over to WildShadow. "Are we going to do fighting practice today?" He asked enthusiastically.

"No. We're learning to hunt mice."WildShadow sighed. He knew he had taught Vinepaw how to do this twice already. He knew Vinepaw would be dissapointed.

"Okay." Vinepaw said. He did his best not to sound dissapointed. He quickly ran through the gorse tunnel and stopped at the top of the ravine.

WildShadow raced after him. He stopped next to Vinepaw and sniffed the air. "Watch closely." WildShadow instructed. He dropped into a crouch and slowly crept through the undergrowth. He easily killed the mouse and padded back to Vinepaw with it in his teeth. He dropped ot on the ground and said " Now you try."

Vinepaw easily mimiced his mentor and dropped the mouse next to him. "Can't we try something new?" Vinepaw asked. He didn't wait for an answer. He immediately headed back to the camp.

WildShadow picked up both mice and headed back to camp. He dropped one at Vinepaw's feet and settled down by the nettle clump to eat. He began eating the mouse slowly. One eye was on Vinepaw. The other was on his meal. He watched as Vinepaw took two bites of the mouse and walked away.

Vinepaw went into the apprentice den and layed down in his nest. He looked at the snow that covered the ground. After watching the snow he finally drifted off to sleep.

WildShadow finished his mouse and walked over to Vinepaw's. He quickly swallowed it and trotted back to the warrior's den. He laid in his nest and quickly fell asleep.

Vinepaw woke up. Sunlight was streaming through the entrance to the apprentice den. He slowly got to his paws and stretched. He walked outside and padded to the entrance of the warriors den.

WildShadow slowly awoke. He looked up to see Vinepaw standing outside the entrance to the den. "Ready for training, are we?" WildShadow meowed. He got up and stretched. He walked out of the den and walked through the gorse tunnel. He signaled to Vinepaw with a flick of his tail to follow him.
