Un. I think it depends on how the roleplay's handled honestly. @_@ Cause, I've seen some pretty awesome anime-inspired roleplays, but then some really bad ones because how it was set up was very... ugh.. I can't find the word. Icky. confused
Anywho, I voted Anime. :3 But I would've voted for also super powers/vampire, too. ;x;

Hurm... mostly romance, but there has to be more to it than that. Life and romance are interesting because of the complications. I also enjoy super powers, etc, but only if those powers have limits. (ick, Superman/ yay, Batman...)

Kuroiten ...where's the Sci-Fi/Fantasy category? Can't leave that out! I'll just go with anime because sci-fi and fantasy could fall under there. Hear, hear! I picked school, bcause that's cool, too, but sci-fi and fantasy are major!

I'd go for powers, people tend to exaggerate and leaving out weaknesses very often though or maybe just forgets that if you carry near unlimited amounts of weapons, you're bound to move quite slow. Setting up traps for the other is one of the few things that can make a rp quite complicated. Example...
1"She carefully measured the length of the strings, tied them to the triggers which in turn were attached to another set of strings with several different, sharp weapons hanging down from the ceiling. She turned off the lights and found herself a secluded part of the room where she could observe it all."
2"As he opened the door he could sense something was wrong, he stopped for a split second and just before he set his foot down he could spot a very thin line under it."
*BEEP*
Things to take into consideration o_o
Player 2: First of all it would have to depend on the character profile if he noticed that it was a trap, if he's got poor eye sight or maybe has a careless behaviour, he should not have realised it was a trap.
Also, Player 1 turned off the lights, which would make it impossible for Player 2 to actually spot anything that thin as a string, especially not in foot height.
Also, if it wasn't included in the character profile, where did Player 1 get all those weapons and things to set a trap? Unless she was hiding in a weapon storage. Also, it takes time to set up a trap, which would make it unlikely that if Player 2 was right outside the door, she had the time to set up a complicated trap.
These are kind of the things people forget from time to time.
and sorry for the long post, I just have the urge to write plenty and hardly anybody's online in the guild forum. lol

I love the hunter and hunted RPs.Only played two and since they arent popular usualy people put in more work into them.But a chase while your runing for your life in an urban area is awesome.And when you least expect it bang.Something goes wrong and all your plans fail and now you have a maniac with a gun breathing down on your neck.After that he finishes you off and goes for the next target.Out of 20 players who played victim 18 were outsmarted and killed while the remaining 2 teamed up and managed to overpower the badie by distracting him and hiting him in the face with a chair.....Good times, good times.
Also their cool cause it can be an outcast RP during the day and a hunter and hunted RP at night(Rp night and day.)

I enjoy a more realistic style.
Like the world having something terribly wrong with it and a rag tag band try to save it, but end up dieing or tearing themselves apart by lies and other things.
Or a role play based on past events, like the Crusades.
But, yes, as Brigidt pointed out, it is based on the person who set it up but also how well the other people play. It's not fun when you're playing with a super powerful guy who is also sensitive or a girl who is so shy and he parents abused her.

Fantasy here. Can't stand romance. Blargh. Sadly the RP forums have all fallen to a choice of romantic vampires or romantic slaves... So I don't RP too much any more. Plus any "different" roleplays I try to make tend to disappear without a trace... -sigh-

Basically what DragonRissa said. Hey Rissa, do you think we could somehow post some super-subtle subliminal messages to get people to join Valley of the Dragon, which hit a dead end a while ago...?

I think the romance threads are among my least favorite. Often that part of the story overshadows everything else, and before you know it, there IS no story...

HMMM... *walks into wall* OK, sorry,just had a wall problem. *pats wall* (sorryy >.>) ANYWAYS... i like.... uh.... a bit of romance (like froggy sempai said) fantasy, super power (suuuper strength! maybe.) uh... you know? I never really thought about it... I just joined whatever I liked... @-@.... which is technically all.... HAVE FUN THINKING ABOUT IT! (wait, to me? I think not.) ok bye ^^
