Persoanlly, I'm taking a ballroom dance class over at my school, and I've been enjoying it immensly. We've so far covered Waltz, Rumba, Cha Cha, Western Swing, and we're also starting Tango, with plans for a little Foxtrot before the end of the semester. I'm curious as to what styles of dance people here enjoy, if they do any, and if they know why, why they enjoy them. Personally, I love western swing. It's a great up-beat tempo, and it can be done to most popular music.

To be truthful, I've never heard of it. What is it, exactly?

Nice. I don't know if you do any SCA events or Renaissance Faires, but you see a lot of it in those settings, and I'm sure you could learn a lot from the dancers there.

I have never been to a ren faire sadly. The only one I know of in Florida is in Tampa, and of course I live on the opposite side of the state in Titusville. I saw a bellydancer at MegaCon earlyer this year though. My mom bought me some tapes to learn from, but I don't get a chance to do them very often crying

If you can't get to a faire, try an SCA event. Both are great. I traveled about 200 miles north to go to an SCA war, and boy was it worth it.

Not really familiar with it, to be truthful. I've only done a little ballroom, and to be truthful, I love it. Western Swing is by far my favorite, and I think I may be liking Tango as well. Hopefully we'll spend some good time on it.

Ummm... break dancing.
I like to dance and break things.
=D
xD
Probably any kind of dance, really.
But I like watching it more than doing it, because I'm sooooo uncoordinated that I just feel foolish even TRYING most of the time.
But I really like most of Britney Spears' music videos, because I want to learn how to dance like that.
Oh, and Shakira, cause bellydancing is TOO awesome.
I love all the moves, and totally want to learn more.

If you want a dance that's better for doing with a partner, you should look at maybe trying ballroom, and see what there is in that genre that you like.

I choose Waltz, because its the only one I remember that's on the list. I don't really dance much, once every few years I suppose.

Well, for official dancing anyway. I've been told that while I work I dance. But, I just move in a way that's most efficient, keeping in a constant and fluid pace. It may not be conventional, but it does help.

Probably more just a proper walk than dance, if you ask me. Then again, dance and swordsmanship usually go hand in hand, to be truthful. There are a number of differences, subtle and not, but one helps the other. Waltz can be tricky, and it's elegant, but I've personally had a lot more fun with what I've done in Swing and Tango, to be truthful.
