So, I just tried red pepper jelly for the first time. It was my first non-fruit/berry jelly I've ever had. I've always avoided vegetable jellies, out of fear that they'd be... well... nasty! However, I spread a bit of red pepper jelly onto a cracker, topped it with a piece of sharp cheddar cheese, and found it to be delicious! So, CIA, what sort of strange foods have you found that turned out to be completely against your expectations?

I went to the Food Show in NY last Sunday... and one of the venders was selling smoothies. I tried one that had lime juice and something else in it.. but the main and coolest ingredient was ROSE PETTALS! It was soooooo yummy! heart I also tired this crabless crab cake in the kosher section... it was surprisingly good.

Ooooh, rose petal smoothies sound delicious. I used to love it when my grammy bought rose-flavored candies.
Ah yes, I just remembered that I recently also tried a clams casino dip. Kinda fishy, but still very good. It's amazing what sorts of results you can get by trying a new take on an established food. blaugh
